  • @ RONSTER... This song was made long before Scarface was made... FYI.. This is a great song though...One of their Best. Ben's voice does give me chills in this song too..

  • Excellent, Excellent, Excellent.

  • Got to be the best song by the CARS that many people never heard. Fantastic lyrics and Ben's deep, haunting vocals are out of this World. Too bad there are no LIVE video's of them performing this song... Great, Great Lyrics. Ric hit a Home Run when he wrote this song...

  • @elprado1963 I agree with you completely! This has been one of my all time favorites. I have so many favorites, so it's funny to say that one is my favorite, but it has everything.

Ben's voice is awesome! Is the violin part done by Greg or Elliot? The Cars Rock It Hard!

  • I discovered this song hidden in the Shake it up album, seeing Spotify; I heard it and I had to repeat it several times because I was really shocked by this hidden and underrated song; The Cars, what a fantastic group! Pure new wave sound from the 80's, glorious keyboards on this song while Orr is singing

  • Ive always liked the 8 bit part @ 2:23. Sounds like a C64 Sid chip.

  • An underrated song, Ben Orr is Immortal! No one else sounds like this band. The new songs are great too!

  • @Krsna93 You're preaching to the choir... Ben is missed beyond belief. Ben was the voice of the cars. He could sing the phonebook and every Cars fan would purchase it.

  • who's the girl in the cover of the album?

  • @09283265124

Mary Ann Walsh...and she never appeared in the "Shake It Up" video. There's a guy who's obsessed with that and he posted that all over the internet but it wasn't her. lol ("watch carefully and you'll see the cover girl in the video"...lol)

  • the most underated

  • Thumbs up if you have this vinyl!

  • strange i have never heard this one before... wish i had the albums... the cars have very very few songs i have hear and not liked so far.

  • GREATEST CARS SONGS: Dont Cha Stop / Youre All Ive Got Tonight / Moving In Stereo / All Mixed Up / Since I Held You / CandyO / You Cant Hold On Too Long / Lust for Kicks / Dangerous Type / Gimme Some Slack / Dont Tell Me No / Misfit Kid / You Wear Those Eyes / Running to You / Up and Down / This Could Be Love!!

  • @eric86001 I think these are my all time favorites as well. Good taste. There is a "heaviness" to these tunes.

  • An original sound like no other and completely smashing the mould.

  • Aah man, Ben always had such a sexy voice....

  • Comment removed

  • Mr. Cool, Mr. Suave, What a fantastic, sultry voice Ben Orr had. I had the 8 Track !!! tape of Shake it up and played it over and over again when I was a teenager. Loved the Cars then and still do now !!! Once song is better than the next...

  • Thanks! Loven it!!

  • lovely

  • A great tune from a solid album.

  • Between you and Slance1 I'm in Cars Heaven! keep em coming guys, you BOTH rock!

  • One of my all-time favoites!

  • the only band who's every song was great.....

  • @dgralto Took the words out of my mouth. There isn't a Cars song that I don't like (and that's alot of songs, too !!) They were awesome !!!

  • This song makes me feel weird feelings like i'm somehow traveling back in time. I love it. ♫this could be looove....♫♪♫......

  • My favorite Ben song from Shake It Up... and cruiser too... :)

  • They were only underrated to those who weren't Cars fans....

  • Had to click this...NOW I remember this song! Great tune.

  • this song is so cool

  • Oh yeah..I missed hearing this song...always one of my ultimate favs.

Ben, it WAS love! and still is : )

  • Oh yea.... it comes and goes

  • love the cars

  • i RRREEEEEAAALLLLLYYYY LOVE paTicia....

  • One of the best off of Shake It Up. Agreed, Ben was one the very best. Really miss him. This album marked a turn toward a slicker, more synth-dominated pop sound. I've always preferred their harder rocking, edgier stuff ala The Cars, Candy-O and Panorama. The Cars only poor album, IMO, was Door to Door.

  • One of the best songs sung by Ben. (the other would be Candy-O) Thanks for posting!

  • I get the chills when I listen to this song. Bens voice is amazing.

  • @italianbear35 SOOO AMAZING

  • brings back memories of 5th grade.:)

  • I had this album in-fact I had all their albums. I loved this song the first time I heard it, like many songs of theirs it only took hearing it once before you were hooked. I always thought Rick sang this...Their all geniuses..And what can anyone say about Bens voice. Amazing ....

  • Wow, those keys are so on top!

  • My favorite Cars song!!!

  • great song one of those hidden gems ......thanks for posting yours truley screaming lord clifton

  • Oh yeah....

    My baby comes and goes...

  • I agree with you 100% terrafirma91.

  • I had forgotten all about this great Cars creation with Ben Orr singing in a somewhat "haunting" style. This is another exceptional Cars number yet overlooked by many. I could never comprehend the avoidance of accolades for the Cars, and their splendid work. They were the most under-rated groups of the 70's-80's. Thanks for posting this, Mike.

  • Yes as well as Greg Hawks is a Genius on the keyboard and a pioneer of completly new demention in sound. To bad now were only left with the Jonas Bros and Miley Sirus Sad.

  • And yet the only Cars songs they play on the networks are "I like the nightlife", and "Shake it up". They had so many good compositions, including this one, I can't understand the establishment's avoiding their great works.

  • Hell, Panorama is underated!!! Its more than Touch and go people! hehehe

Gotta love this song, the haunting beat/ Hawkes synth-riffs, plus Ben's vocals, make it great.

  • No doubt. Yet it's never played on the major radio stations, or even on satellite radio! It must be a concerted effort by the ringleaders, or something. Did Ocasik, or Orr tick-off someone in the "industry" at one time? Something is awry here.

  • @terrafirma91 ~ I totally agree, Ben's voice haunts me til this day in this song, a true unknown classic, probably my favorite of this album and my favorite of all "Cars" albums. A little unknown fact, The "Gun Shots" you here in this song were probably used for the movie 'Scarface", listen for and tell me if you think so, then listen to the "Scarface" soundtrack...Hmmm!! =-/

RIP Ben, you're truely missed by the guys, but your spirit is still there!!

  • @ronster0213: I'm sorry, but I didn't hear any gunshots at all during this song. I hope I'm not going deaf. Perhaps I should increase the volume of my headset.
