Many politicians start-out seeking to do the right things, but are lured by the influence of money, power and party branding until they lose all sense of who they were and what they stood for when they began. Huck recognizes the change, too. Let's hope Clone gives up his political ambitions or develops the strength ofcharacter to resist such influences.

LOL! Clone is so cynical.

I don't think people misrepresent themselves to be deceitful, but because they really are afraid of being rejected/overlooked for being less than ideal. A lot of people have Clone's reaction to the lack of a photo: "The only scale where she's a 10 would be the Richter Scale." While people, men and women alike, may not be model calibre, they could still be good human beings.

Young and old alike have a tendency to judge the book by its cover while more experienced adults who come to appreciate content of character over the superficial often struggle to overcome their own shattered confidence.
