this is absolutely awesome. and then gets better with the Fleet Foxes. Great stuff- inspiring, and makes me want to do something similar. I'm on the east coast, and have been thinking about driving to the grand canyon this summer.
@iammrbeat , thanks for reply , young man , I used to take a trip like you in Alaska by apply to seafood company in Seattle , you will have room , board and money by the end of the trip 3 to 6 months .
Apply in Seattle before September ( salmon season , kingcrab season ....) good luck .
@thisguy76354 Thanks! Well, our main expense was gas, and that cost us over 1000 dollars, I believe. We only stayed at motels/hostels about half the time, so we only spent probably another 1000 on lodging. The other major expense was renting the car, which cost about 700 if I can remember. Split that between two people, and it's not too bad at all. Then again, it got rough at times sleeping in the car or camping!
Awesome trip documentary! I see the North hasn't changed much since I went in 1997 except the bear population seems to have grown or they are not as shy as they once were... Thanks for bringing back a ton of memories. I also found your soundtrack very enjoyable!
@fehquig Thanks for watching and I'm so glad you enjoyed it :) '97 was definitely a much more cheaper time to go! There were probably less tourists, too. Alaska has seemed to grow in popularity the last few years.
Great video! Glad the weather went much better for your return back south. Nice to watch 8,000 miles in a mere 51 minutes from the comfort of my living room. I just got back from my road trip to Whitehorse, Yukon and filming in HD along the way. I`ve put snippets up, the final cut will be on BLIP.TV within a month. Gread job, glad you arrived safe, and lots of work editing all that together! Next trip come up and stay awhile! Cheers from Vancouver, Andrew.
@Linescrew1 Thanks so much! Yeah we definitely want to go back to British Columbia and Vancouver. We enjoyed those areas maybe even better than Alaska! The Sea to Sky Highway was incredible. Thanks for watching :)

Nice trip , anyway my friend , if you wanted to make documentary film , next time you should notes :
- How much gasoline you spend?
-How long it takes from point A topoint B ?
-How many times you need to stop to sleep, to fill gas , to eat .....
etc .
I used to travel from Biloxi to California 2000 miles & 3 days& night on the road by myself .

@iammrbeat Looking at how much that signpost forest has grown is proof enough that many tourists have been through there in recent years :)
