But when they rose early on the next morning, behold, Dagon had fallen face downward on the ground before the ark of the Lord, and the head of Dagon and both his hands were lying cut off on the threshold. Only the trunk of Dagon was left to him." Samuel 5:3-4

  • Hail Father Dagon.

  • what does he mean by "avatar of Cthulhu"

  • @hiimquinn wither a part of cthulhus life essance or one of hos most trusted servents

Cthulu: All right, who wants avatar duty?

    murmers.... murmers

    Dagon: FINE i'll do it

  • yah, dagon is pretty cool, but azathoth is the entity i like best.

  • 0:25 the guy's like, "oh shit!!"

  • @pofwiwice You wouldn't be? I would fuckin' shit myself right then and there ^^

  • @pofwiwice "I am NEVER booking a trip with Budget Cruise Lines again!"

  • "The Shadow over Inssmouth"- my favourite of H.P.L novella's. when I first reading it in the middle of the night I have goose-flesh on my back...:D H.P.L in my opinion is one of the best horror writers in history, he have very expressive style of writing and he's great in building suspense for all along the novella/story,

  • what is with hp lovecraft and the necronomicon and cthulhu dagon things like that maybe he was on to something?

  • @Torkenxoll no, lovecraft was an atheist, and he wanted to create a fictional reality of entities and occult activity to frighten even an atheist

  • who here was convinced by there music enough that it made them start to look deep into the stuff metioned in there titles like the necronomicon,Dagon,Cthulu, and anything else dark? i spent my whole last night listening to them and reading a lot of shit that would make anyone else believe that im satanic or sumtin lol

  • i am a bit of a mythos fanboy and will gladly answer things to the best of my ability and if you think im wrong do correct me for im not a percfict elder one exsample my spelling lol and im up for arguing

  • god could fart on dagon and he would burst into a million flames along with his little gay followers

  • oh ryleh?considering the fact that when you pray to god you get jack diddley shit and when you pray to dagon or mother hydra you get fish or gold oh and not to mention immortality for your fucking kids(granted you gotta screw fish but whatever...)" oh but his kid died for us " excactly he DIED does dagons kids panzy out...nope he tares your enemes a new asshole "so ya he is not perfict but dagon utterly destroys god. i could go on so im up for arguments sake

  • @trogdor856 consider the fact my god serves no one..... and he needs not to serve anyone and the people that go against him like gays.... my god has his ways.... like AIDS!!! the great equalizer and the jews that killed jesus..... egypt..... and hitler :D my god sure showed them damn fucking right

  • i apologise for my spelling 2nd it was not the jews that killed him it was the romans ok judas but that was one dude 3rd ok i forgot about the plages ya got me i dun goofed but on the other hand whos to say narlathotep didnt do that himself it has been said that he likes to give stupid species things that could destroy us so he could have created aids and why not if we can do the same and hitler shot himself smarty pants and he dont hate gays that was just the people who wrote the the bible

  • @trogdor856 i got nothing to say other than ur "god" here was made up by some guy who wanted attention

  • actualy not true he took the name from another religion with the same powers bacicly and whose to say its not the same with your god after all the bible is just a bunch of stories put together by homophobic feminist hateing old men who took shit waaaay out of perspective

  • @trogdor856 Well, if Prince Eric could do it, I suppose it couldn't be all bad...@_@

  • ive alwys been fascinated in these creatures or gods as u might call them

  • dagon: by nox arcana. you can get this on itunes

  • IA Dagon! IA C'thulhu!

  • avatar? you mean cthullu is controlling Dagon

  • @void735 in a way kinda you see the deep ones worship dagon and mother hydra while those two worship cthulhu and cthulhu speeks to him in his dreams and ass you all know when a mythos goes to bed its a shit load of a long time before they get back up again so you can guess how long there conversations go on for and well lets face it... theres a lot of shit to do

  • Let's put this in perspective. Dagon is the Avatar of Cthulhu. This means he is an Avatar of a Priest of representatives of the Elder gods......and yet he's still the most immensely powerful creature we could ever imagine. This is the basis of the terror Lovecraft's works bring, that we are not only less important than we see ourselves, but that we are literally NOTHING in the grand cosmic scheme, so small that we are less than bacteria.

  • @jimrobmicah This kinnda remindes on the storyline of Mass Effect. The Reapers, are ancient machine beings, who hide in the dark corner of the galaxy. Than, once every 50.000 years, when civilization of known galxy reaches it's peak, they return and wipe out everything that isn't part of their "GRAND PLAN OF EXISTANCE".

  • cthulu will make satan his bitch i mean look at that thing you need to bee crazy enough to come up with something like this thats the reason why lovecraft was so awesome its to bad that ppl didnt knew him when he was alive

  • @rockpop1

I dont understand what would have been accomplished if people knew him when he was alive. People didn't respect that kind of art at that time, so I dont understand why it would have been a good thing.

  • I usually just get guinsoo instead of dagon.

  • the first pic is of Tsathoggua, not Dagon. Tsath looks like a squat toad-like critter with hair, sleepy eyes. sorry, but that looks like him, not Dagon

  • my favourite mythos gods are Azathoth, Yog-Sothoth and Cthulhu. those three are the most badass of all. hands down

  • My two favorites are Azathoth and Dagon. Even though, Azathoth is the supreme 'God' of the H.P. Lovecraft universe and Dagon is just an Old one. XD

  • go read lovecraft literature

  • Dagon is a pretty cool guy, eh avatars for Cthulhu and doesnt afraid of anything

  • @technoskull Well said Brother

  • @technoskull doesn't afraid of anything indeed!

  • @technoskull I WAS ABOUT TO MAKE THAT COMMENT. ARBY N' CHIEF FTW.

  • @technoskull When the stars are right, when the sunken city rises, when even Death dies in strangest aeons and the world of man ends in madness, I have a feeling you shall be spared for this.

  • @technoskull so u are a follower lol i mena u believe to dagon/?

  • @technoskull so dagon was phone?

  • @technoskull Hehe, I see what you did there, /b/rother.

  • Is he really an avatar of Cthulhu? I am not sure about that. Anyhow, really cool vids

  • i am trust me

  • this fucker is fucking scary dog ! xD

  • I like dagon he is my favorite tied with cthulhu and nyalathotep

  • :) Dagon is quite cool, but in the grand scheme of things he is nothing but an overgrown Deep One, him and Mother Hydra. Not to say I'd like to meet him though ^^.

I'd have to say my 2 favourite would have to be Nyarlathotep and either, Shub-Niggurath or Yog-Sothoth

  • For me, it's a tie between Yog-sothoth (long live the bubbling god of forbidden knowledge) and cthulhu. Because he is a crazy preist. And I lioke crazy priests.

  • I hear ya buddy, my words exactly :)

  • V'hu-ehn n'kgnath fha'gnu n'aem'nh. V'naa-

    glyz-zai v'naa-glyz-zn'a cylth. I'a ry'gzengrho. I'a Dagon.'

  • great

  • I wouldn't rule anything out though. Lovecraft's stories have an strange connection to each other

  • is dagon and cthulhu the same?

In the video they say dagon is the avatar om cthulhu

  • no, dagon is an underwater creature that islanders worshipped

  • kk tnx

  • In Shadow over Innsmouth, Dagon is the entity that is worshiped by the Deep Ones and the Deep Ones are worshiped by the islanders.

  • no, in right, Dagon is a king of the deep-ones, he is a servent of Cthulhu. ^^

    sorry for my bad English

  • No, they wrong.

Although Nox Arcana are epic, they seem to have made a hideous mistake here. Dagon and Cthulhu are two seperate entities, both Great Old Ones.

Lovecraft mentioned this, although it could an August Derleth thing...he re-wrote the entire Mythos and really fucked up, in my opinion.

  • Dagon is Cthulhu sorta brother dagon Reigns Hell until Cthulhu comes

  • not in the slightest you silly goose i will fil free to explain all

  • Mother Dagon, and Father Hydra are the greatest of the Deep Ones and servants of Great Cthulhu himself. As their names would imply, they are mates.

  • Father Dagon and Mother Hydra.. -.-

  • @CzlowiekOto Oh lord Mother Hydra... you adorable blob of monstrosity you... I'd tap that.

  • bump bump bump bump

  • no my dear friend cthulhu is still uin ry'leh il gladly explain if you would like

  • i dont think dagon is real because if he was real we would be blood thristy and we would be eating fish every day... uh... well... we would be eating fish every day

  • I do eat fish everyday. Well almost everyday. I'm Cantonese, we're a coastal people with lots of seafood in our cuisine.

  • he was a old god worshipped in the east to give wealth and fish, lovecraft just worked him in to his stories

  • Oh well, I think this one really existed.

  • same

  • I believe that Cloverfield was a Deep One and is possibly Father Dagon or Mother Hydra themselves. Look up the manga on the Slusho website, read about Deep Ones in the Necronomicon (by HP Lovecraft) and use a little imagination. HP's descriptions were left a little vague so it left some room for artistic interpertation. His descriptions are coupled with a lot of adjectives that give a foreboding and sickening feeling while you read so your mind is drawn to imagine more than what you read.

  • thats a good idea behind cloverfield. since the bullshit director didnt even give a good description of what cloverfield is in the first place...

  • Yeah! I sure hope Cloverfield wasn't anything Lovecraft related. Old HPL doesn't need any more bad publicity.

  • Nah, I'm quite sure that there's nothing in the Cthulhu-mythos that resemble the thing from Cloverfield.

  • dido

  • that's kinda what drew people in to see it...the fact that hardly anything is explained...because in a real life situation like that...you don't really get to find out everything...so it makes sense plus mysteries are exciting

  • maybe there will be cthulhu too xD

  • well at the end of one of the most current HPL movies titled CTHULHU the world was comeing to an end the deep ones were comeing ashore and mass insanity was happening!

  • where can i get my hands on that movie ive been trying to find it everywhere

  • the only problem is tht HP Lovecraft didnt write the necronomicon. he said anyone that did would utterly fail and disappoint all readers. :)

  • i found a coppy of what i belive to be the most common version and indeed it was a fail it had a shit load of things that had nothing to do with the lovcraftian lore but it did have a little oh well thats what happens when people do things that they shouldent. sad face.

  • Which is the best necronomicon, there are lots at my bookstore.

  • Hail mighty Father Dagon!

  • OK for all you poeple out there who keep mention H.P love craft Dagon was not of his creation he is a really.. well was a real god he was a major northwest Semitic god, reportedly of grain and agriculture. He was worshiped by the early Amorites which inhabitants of the cities of Ebla and Ugarit. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!! an if u think not look it up!

  • Indeed. He was a Babylonian god of the sea I believe.

  • Thank you very much, an your correct he was!

  • @riddle0me0this more thruth that the elder ones are real

  • I do believe some legends attribute him to teaching farming and agriculture to the early civilizations. Some theories say that he may have been an extra-terrestrial, which I imagine is where Lovecraft got his inspiration.

  • LOL 0:18 i'll give you a hint, thats not a pillar or a rock hes got

  • think the same thing man

  • whats that penis idol hes humping?(have you noticed how pagan idols look like penises?)

  • Quite intentional. Idols or statues were designed as phallic objects for multiple reasons. One was because it showed male dominance and superiority. Another reason was a center of fertility; the phallus would 'fertilize' the land, house-hold, or region it was set in. Some phalluses were thought to bring good luck, and men carried them around in hopes of virility. And finally, it may just be because the design was practical; one single object was easier to carve than a complex one.

  • beautiful clip. ia dagon, ia cthulhu.

  • Great work, Dagon is the most under rated vilians in Lovecrafs work.

  • I know he desearves more credit. For crying olut loud he is the avatar of Cthulhu. I know people who would love to be an avatar of a giant alian demi god from the stars.

  • My friend you got my vote for that, off the subject i am writing a short story about an alien god.

  • Thats cool.

  • @darkness442003 Um, he's actually a Biblical Demon from hell....

  • @Lordgale119 Biblical that's the key word biblical BS. However i was refering to how Love Craft took Dagon and tailored it to fit his work. On that note Dagon in regards to people that worshipped him was something like a sea god to the plistines. Ofcoures writers of the bible will damn anythin not god as a demon reason why biblical stuff majority of the time is refuted

  • @darkness442003 Ok, you don't have to bite my head off man. I personally prefer fictional versions, even the wierd Dagon from Devil May Cry. I was just saying that's where Dagon CAME FROM. I don't really like the bible, so don't think I'm some Preacher or whatever. I'm just trying to get my tiny two cents into the intellectual conversation here.

  • @Lordgale119 Dude you have my apology as a fan of LoveCraft majority of his demi God material comes from the middle east, from the middle east LoveCraft gets into the beings of the sky known as the Annanuki ( might've spelled it wrong) Technically being from the sky not from hell. Hey when you talk about LoveCraft it often leads to intellectual conversation every one here can testify to that
