I disagree with McKenna in which he says you have to Alienate from culture to become an arbiter. With culture you can produce a facade to seem like you are not "crazy" or "out-there" but still have that same ideology that makes you different from other people, but just not allowing other people to know about your beliefs ands that how i live my life right now. Cause what is life as we know it? its just a big game, but Psychedelics show you what the real deal is.

Well yeah. I actually believe that's kinda the thing he's talking about.

I mean he even mentions, the cost of sanity in this society is a CERTAIN level of alienation.

You might pretend to be well adjusted, however you know you're not fitting the exact cultural scheme for the mind. You even said it, psychedelics show you what the real deal is.

And, well it might not be the real deal, however, you know the cultural deal is not the real deal.

And once stepping on wonderland it is hard to go back.

When you really achieve the state when you can see out of your humanity you open door than you cant close. And that is good, overwholming but its neccesary. I understand perfectly the thing about "alienate" that he mentioned here. But dont be afraid. That is the sign that you are evolving in something more deep and clear.

The problem with faking normality or sanity is the fact that your life will no longer produce an impact, I think. McKenna has impacted profoundly my own life because of his personal alienation. I face this dillemma myself right now. Should I call the bluff on the game and invite others to experience a more profuond reality? Or should I fake my way in, make no waves, be called "sane" and betray my self in my deepest levels. I believe, now, in sharing my self. some might even join me.

@Meevinman i think he meant like realizing you Are somehow the Arbiter makes you become alienated. because culture makes you unaware of what is outside that culture and that type of thinking, culture pressures you to be like everyone else

and when you wake UPto know that you have all the choices all the control Then it makes you feel alienated from a culture in which the norm is conformity
