Both animals have to fight at times, and sometimes to the death, so fighting in that sense would be relatively equal. The lions mane would provide it a defense if the Tiger were to go at the neck only. There are other parts to attack, though.

No way, an average Siberian tiger is 210 pounds larger than an average lion. Siberian tigers (fully grown males) typically grow up to 670 lbs. though weights of almost 900 lbs. have been observed in the wild and more commonly in captivity, where tigers live longer and weight much more. You don't believe me - do some research. In fact, even the Bengal tiger is about 160-180 pounds larger than a fully-grown male lion. Tigers are also more powerful and faster than lions and have longer teeth.
That is one skinny Siberian. In the winter though they could pack on over 200lbs of fat.
By the way, the largest cat in the world was the Cave Lion and even bigger than that was the American Lion. These are even bigger than today's Ligers.

they do, but not often its rare. Male Lions can kill Lone buffaloes aswell and have done alot of times, but as they are the top predator of africa they use the intelligent and steals food from smaller predators, and makes them save energy.

Tigers are known for enabling to kill brown bears and giant elephants. Lions can't do that without any helps from fellow lions. Male lions are freeloaders and lack hunting skills because they rely on the lionesses to do the jobs.
Tigers are solitary animals, that means they got better individual skills while it's hunting than lions. Lions have better social and group skills than tigers no doubt. But this comparision isn't fair as it isn't one on one.

oh please. Compared to tiger, leopard and jaguar cubs, lion cub is the most plainest looking cat ever. At times they look like a puppy dog instead of a cat.

Lions are a group hunter. They intimidate their rivals by standing by or helpping their main lion. Tigers don't hunt in group, they are a lone hunter, so in no way a single tiger can gain advantage over lion. However, if an one-on-one battle, a male siberian tiger with his surpreme agility would win a fight. Also tigers are more loved than lions as the latter is so overpopulated. Except for male lion's mane, i don't think lions are anything special physically.

@megasayajinsongoku99 the tiger is more flexible in terms of spinal and joint structure. tigers are less willing to give up a 1 on 1 "duel" because of its environment and solitary survival instincts which requires the tigers to kill or die. therefore their mentality is more solid. unlike the lion & its pride -- willing to let others do the fighting when it gets tough (weak mentality...its in their DNA). and not to mention the pure muscle power and weight of a tiger....tigers win.

Both animals have to fight at times, and sometimes to the death, so fighting in that sense would be relatively equal. The lions mane would provide it a defense if the Tiger were to go at the neck only. There are other parts to attack, though.

A primitive member of the bear family once lived there - A. africanus(sp), but it was squeezed out when the climate changed and new predators began to specialize. um... misconception that ppl have on sabertooth tigers is that they're some sort of a wicked ancient cat that kicks modernday's cat's ass or something... Even though they are stronger... they lack agility, speed and endurance is why they're extinct. sabertooth tigers aren't as amazing as u think.

No way, an average Siberian tiger is 210 pounds larger than an average lion. Siberian tigers (fully grown males) typically grow up to 670 lbs. though weights of almost 900 lbs. have been observed in the wild and more commonly in captivity, where tigers live longer and weight much more. You don't believe me - do some research. In fact, even the Bengal tiger is about 160-180 pounds larger than a fully-grown male lion. Tigers are also more powerful and faster than lions and have longer teeth.

That is one skinny Siberian. In the winter though they could pack on over 200lbs of fat.
By the way, the largest cat in the world was the Cave Lion and even bigger than that was the American Lion. These are even bigger than today's Ligers.
