I think the only reason why a lot of you guys think this is the most overrated superhero film is because its not your typical crime fighter, Nolan doest just throw Joker out there and make him do what ever as Batman comes to stop him. Theres is a very deep story, not just Batman defeats Joker like any other Batman movies. And a lot of you are use to a superhero movie where theres a lot of action and fighting, but Nolan gives his movies a very deep story, so theres of course less action than exp

The films so called "Joker" doesn't deliver jokes and acts more like a drug addict than a villain.

Overall: the film is far away from the original Batman-idea.

@Bale4Bond I don't know. Batman was well played and presented in these films- his world, his character. I'm a Batman comics fan too and I feel that the Joker was made to be realistic here- he's often interpreted differently in graphic novels.comics anyway. This is just another interpretation surely? I think it nailed the Joker as a representation of chaos. It nailed his cruelty and I think his humour- but its a darker humour, never allowed to make him a ridiculous character. I loved it.

Joker in TDK had the dark humor, the obsession with Batman, the chaotic destruction Joker loves, and they adapted the Killing Joke angle by making Joker trying to drive Gotham to insanity just to prove they were like him deep down.

Nicholson was a joke. A fat Joker who danced to Prince, stalked Vicki Vale, and killed Batman's parents.

Every time I view this movie, it always changes the way I look at it. The first few times I saw, I just focused more on the Joker than any other character in the movie.

But after my last viewing of it, I realized this movie has SO much things going on in it. There is absolutely NO pointless time-fillers. Every scene is important in some way. If everyone just analyzes every scene in the movie then they will know just how well-rounded it is.

His performance as Bruce Wayne / Batman was perfect, he didn't do more than he needed to. Seriosuly if you think Bale sucks and overacts I would suggest you go watch American Psycho, The Machinist, Harsh Times, Rescue Dawn, Empire of the Sun....even go watch the trailer for his latest movie, The Fighter. Bale is an actor who immerses himself into every role.

Like Batman for example, even though you dont like him in it you have to admire how seriosuly he's taken the character and the amount of effort he's put into it. He's really tried the best he can to make his Batman dark and complex and in my opinon he has suceeded. There aren't many actors out there who take it this seriously.

@HandyMan101 No he's not. Christian Bale is the first actor ever on film to truly capture the Batman character and if it's his voice you're referring to, it's needed. Bruce Wayne is one of the most famous people in the world, he needs to change his voice that drastically so he can't be recognised. It fits in with the realistic aspect. Plus Bale has used it for psychological reasons...when Bruce puts on the costume he transforms himself into a BATman. He's not supposed to a guy in a suit.
