I don't see the point of this. Asking someone to do something by offering a carrot as incentive to act is logic that dates back to the neanderthal era. This is not cutting edge inspiration.
And Jesus, if that Seth is as great and famous as he brags that he is, why doesn't do something about his disgusting looks. I can't look at the monitor when he is on it.
He didn't give a solution. People are always spouting problems, but don't want to give you the solutions. You probably have to pay for one of his books to get the solution. He could have at least given one example. I like Seth Godin, I finished reading "Linchpin" not too long ago, but this video served no purpose other than to voice a grievance.
this piece of shit jew keeps saying that if you have a technical, genius mind, you are worthless... if you have an artsy fartsy mind, you deserve a high salary. If you are a talented machinist, engineer, technician, programmer, inventor, you deserve to be outsourced . This guy is dangerous and a piece of shit filthy jew parasite
@mixergy I email back and forth with Seth regularly for couple years -- *smile* was reacting to Seth when people ask him to go to dinner to "pick his brain - I did that when he was in ATL last month - thinking i should have asked if he wanted to go to dinner to PICK MY BRAIN haha -- hey check out my funny video on YouTube about Linchpin Do You Ship? Inspired by Seth Godin and Linchpin
How humans work is that people naturally ask for things because they believe those things will make them better people, otherwise they wouldn't ask, because asking is risky (humans HATE rejection!). And I, for one, want people to be their best, don't you? So when someone asks me for something I want to know what they hope to get out of it. If I'm going to offer them something, I want to know that it's going to be put to good use.
This is why so many people fail. The totally forget that they have to bring in some value before they can get some value back. Why is this so hard to understand?
Hmmmm... I don't expect other people to give me something before I give them something, that seems pretty unrealistic. For me, it's better to be the generous, giving type right up front. I prefer to know how I can help you before I start expecting you to help me. But then I'm kind of exceptional, I guess.
It's so funny that people still don't get this. i work with REALTORs everyday and their main concern is, "What's in it for me." Then, when they go out and market themselves, they're still in that same frame of mind.
THINK ABOUT YOUR AUDIENCE people! Thanks for the reminder ;)
Really great! I resonate with this so much. Once you get a "little bit famous" people ask you for favors and don't realize how uncomfortable it makes you.
Liked It! Seth's Style!

@ejskaer think about the the needs of the person you're asking. Make your request about them, not you.

I have become a huge Seth Godin fan. What he said was so true. We have to find ways of giving gift and not asking favors.

You can do whatever you want, but if you blame someone for asking for something, then I'm going to think you're kind of a selfish jerk. :-)
