These are about 10 seconds slower then F1 believe it or not, they have a larger V12 engine which sounds better then the current F1's v8's in some ways but these are only around 12/13,000rpm compared with F1's that are 18,000rpm with the same bhp output! F1's also have much more developed technology and better downforce in the corners so they dont loose as much time in the bends!
I would say these are very simular to A1 GP's or GP2's in terms of pace, but have a better sounding engine.
about superleague ,They are about 1 or 2 secs faster than the Senna's Mclaren of 1993 and for Gp2 cars (last year) , they were exactly as fast as f1 at Monaco 1999 (same time per lap), then , i would say GP2 are probably fatser than superleague by 2-3 secs/lap , even with stronger engines 750hp versus GP@ 600hp but much lighter cars...sorry for my bad english , i've tried my best :)

never heard or seen this race series before.. are they a step lower than f1..? or an entire new leauge, with better and faster cars.? just wondering.

It is a step lower than F1.
It is similar to GP2/F2 machine wise but I am sure the competition is tougher in GP2/F2
The league is based on race team/soccer club... lol, teaming up! I don't know anything really about the teams I live in Canada.
Only a few recognizable drivers are in this series. Sebastian Bourdais joined recently.
