Yes, they can be very hard to groom. I start them young with grooming and bathing and that helps. I'm not a show breeder, so my cats tend to get minimal grooming. For example I will cut or shave a knot out if necessary. The ones that will let me bath them get bathed when needed -- clean fur knots up less than dirty fur. I use Dawn dish det. as it is good with oils, Rinse with 50/50 water/vinegar, then rinse well again with water. This is just a basic bath, no conditioning.

yes, they can be expensive ... a lot depends on what part of the country you live in ... also the silvers and goldens like mine with the slightly longer nose, are more in demand.
These are Persians -- Shaded Goldens. Kind of unique genetically in that they are genetically black and are born looking like black tabbies then they become quite light and their stripes fade as they mature.
