Hothouse Flowers one of the best from Ireland. And this song is such a feeling in ... its also the song when I close my eyes. Together with songs of the other best of Ireland mister Roy Gallagher. If you go !!!!!!!!!!!
Saw them a few times in the 80's and they were so amazing !!! but the gig in the RDS Stadium was definitely the highlight! I recall they'd play this song at sunset in a beautiful orange-colored light and it was absolutely awesome to be present.A real cool live band and nice guys as well!!! Btw. "Saved" was the best song in this era!!! xoxo G.G.
19, moved from Dublin to London, heartbroken after the end of my first relationship.... Lonely as hell and listen to this. It all seems very trivial when you know what the song is really about. Its a sad song for sad times and the sax solo really will tear your heart out every time you listen to it.... Thanks for posted this amazing song!!
I was in love but did not really realise it at that time. I hope she found love herself. Everytime I listen to this I feel emptyness for what has been missed
Takes me back to when I was 17, young, happy, loved this album. The saxophone solo in my mind has yet to be beaten. Fantastic. Thank the Lord for Youtube!!
Thank you for uploading - I saw them live at konstanz in 1992. One of my favourite band. Great musician. the voice is just ..... and not to forget this sax-solo ;-)
brilliant band, seen them about six times in the late 80s and early 90s even seen them at wembey "summer xs"surporting inxs in 91 thank god they didnt follow theu2 route, one band that can just jam!!
same as someone down there vvvv..was throwing out old tapes this is simple pure brilliance been with them since the start and with the waterboys seen them both live cant decide if i love liam or mike more...lol
this got stuck in my car stereo in 1996 driving across Canada. 17 hours alone and hearing this over and over again. havn't listened to it since - this reminds we why i liked it.
bought in 1988 when i was 13. still listening and seems as fresh as the first time played. home cracking album too. gaelswed: thanks for the history behind the song. hell of a sax. i said sax :) scouse power..
Rediscovered this last week hidden in a stack of old cassettes. Barely audible so thx for posting :-). Liams vocal - amazing;. Its not often you hear such honest emotion. And the Sax solo ranks up with "Baker Street". The only reason this doesn't have 500k views is because if anyone hears this once, they go and buy it for themselves. Oh, and because they're too busy wading past online ads for the Jonas Brothers/Miley Cyrus/whoever... "Ní hiad na fir mhóra
I'm in japan now, heard this when I was like 10, my fathers music has made a hell of an impression on me, cant find it at karaoke yet, but I will keep searching , great song, great feeling, and that sax... man, that's music and feeling.
its the music that gives you such a bride way of interpretation...I felt totally different ways. anyway. I met this music back in China in 1988..my God, it's such a long time ago. What has become of the Band? Does anyone know?
309 views, hell this song has made me cry for 15 yrs.they wrote it for their brother who was in a coma after a motorcycle accident, hence this, after dont go.listened to it a million times after my dad died in 93.go irish.peace!

@gaelswed realy moving comment for such a lovely song! year after it there is 24,803 views, so people hopefully got what you were saying,me included! Best wishes to you from Belgrade!
Thank you for posting this song! I first heard it when I bought a bootleg Hothouse flowers tape in Koh Phangan in January 1989 from a very pretty Thai woman.
This song is particularly poignant to me. The album came out just after my brother went to work away, it devastated me. The sax on this track is heartbreakingly beautiful, the sentiment as Gunnarrr says, full of soul.
absolutely fantastic lament extraordinare

One of the most underrated 80's band. I got to grow up listening to them. Simply Red and U2. Thanks to Bono for enjoying good music.
