you usually just start and skip your first turn and discard a dredge card from your hand and you are ready for it.

i gotta say i think that was completely unecessary putting all that graveyard hate on the board like that. i think it'd be much more strategic letting the dredge player try to find the answer for one tormod's and surprising them with another one after they finally find an answer to the ONE crypt in play.

@l3illyShine Answer would be Needle, where the second crypt is..let me think...kinda bad. Bounce doesnt work and most Dredgers dont play Grip cuz of the mana base. Playing it that way makes his opponent desperate and nervous.

If you draw the wrong number of cards, 8 for instance (because of mental confusion or worst sleevs in the worls, or other reasons that could happen), you have to mulligan to five....

For the other point: most of the time, when people trying to concentrate, do something that could be view as idiot.....a lot of magic players, and me too, flips their cards. Nothing easier....

What does concentration have to do with 'flipping' through your hand of cards? Nothing. It's a nervous habit that's 'copied' by other players. The copycat mentality annoys the hell out of me. Then again, I suffer from it too. We all do, so I guess I shouldn't be so judgmental, huh? LOL

How does shuffling cards around in your hand mean you have a nervous compulsion?... When you are playing to win something you think alot, shuffling cards around is just a way to think of the best play. please try playing MTG competitively befor speaking! >:(

I have played MTG competitively and it annoys the hell out of me. It's very distracting. I'm trying to focus on the game and joe blow is flicking his cards like a loon. You guys are fine with it. I'm not.

Nope. I prefer to play with honor. I played this one guy who set up his deck and discard pile all goofy. I asked him why he did it. He said that he always played like that. The reason he did it was obvious. He did it to mess with his opponent. By having his deck turned sideways & in an odd place & discarding in an entirely different place, it distracted his opponent. If I were the judge I would force him to play properly. Still, his deck would've kicked my ass regardless (Mortivore)

I've played since Invasion. I have over 100 decks that I've made. I think I have a little grasp of the game. I also play L5R, Wyvern, Dragon Dice, Doomtown, 7th. Sea, Pokemon, Harry Potter, Magi Nation, CLOUT, & others. Am I awesome or what? lol

I don't buy the cards anymore though. Too expensive & I'm sick of commons that mostly suck.

I also have 4 kids, so I'm broke (lol)

If you want to pick up 1 card at a time, knock yourself out. But if you can't see that what they're doing is totally anal, then I can't help you.

I'm anal too at times, so I guess I should understand. Problem is, it's annoying when someone plays with the intention of irritating or annoying they're opponent. You card flickers are all copycats. I know. I've seen you all at tournaments. That's why I don't bother anymore. You all get your decks from Scrye & articles.

Mtg WAS a GREAT game. Now it's silly. It's overbalanced, overpowered & full of crap cards that nobody wants. It's always had that aspect to it though. Think Alpha - Holy Crap. Now think Mirrodin. R&D is laughing all the way to the bank. Go back & look at the cards from Exodus. Hold a card & see how it feels. Look at the texture.

The art is still awesome, but the card sucks. It's generic now. That's because they make more money selling these cards. They're cheaper to make.

@SpicayD I drag my cards across the table so that if another comes with it I don't see it and the game state can easily be reversed. If you just pick up your card, sometimes you accidentally see the next one and at that point that's a judge call and a warning. As for flicking my cards, I really don't have an excuse except it helps me think sometimes... idle hands and all.

Because Dredge decks run Cabal Therapy and sometimes Pithing Needle or Chalice of the Void, so having more diverse sideboard cards against them gives you a better chance of not having your hate neutralized.
