I enjoy drifting because it has a really fan friendly experience when you attend the events. The loud sound of horsepower, the smell of burnt rubber all day long, fan friendly pitting areas, hot models running around wearing dental floss for panties..That to me is heaven, but each to there own. On the other hand, I like nearly all forms of motorsports..so I guess I'm just "weird". xD
Drifting isnt really a sport, its art. You know i find it really stupid that this guy posts two videos of something HE hates just so he can feel better and maybe get some comments to agree with.
I dislike some motor sports like drag racing, and nascar but i dont HATE like this guy just did.
To all you Drifting Bashers/ Haters posting up your insightful comments think about this. You say drifting sucks. OK so you dont like it. Thats great. I dont like NASCAR, DIRT TRACK, or SPRINT racing. Do I think any of them is less of a sport? No I dont think so I just dont have an interest in them. I do know that this waste of time as you put it has given LOTS of Americans a job. They run events build cars, run vending booths, make T shirts ALL BECAUSE OF DRIFTING. Before you judge Think!
if u ask me drifting sucks racing is and will always be better than drifting the demographics of drifters tend to be people who don't like the refinery of auto racing
Drifting has the same value as building a SHOW Car with 56 LCD TV screens. It is all for looks.
Burning up your clutch at 50mph is not a motorsport or Formula Racing. Formula Racing is Formula Racing, like Formula 1 and 3. Formula D sounds cool but it is still not racing, I did like Tokyo Drift the Movie, lots of hot Asians.
why do you alway come with your "Burning up your clutch at 50mph is not a motorsport"-bullshit. Are you a brainless idio or what? Because you don't like it you sare sucking something negative out of your fingers that doesn't exist. Poooor boy.
And if you still watch F, poor boy again, lol. If you wanna see ,real racing, watch motoGP or SuperGT ;-)
drifting is actually an exspensive sport,my drifter has cost me over $30,000 & its still nowhere near th standard of th big boys, anyone who thinks drifting is easy or lame really has no idea what theyr talking about, our cars are setup just like an ordinary grip racer running huge tyres and very precise suspension setups as it is a high speed motorsport judged on speed, style, angle etc, go check out videos of us drifting at Pukekohe D1NZ, 200+kp/h (120+mp/h) sometimes inches away from each other
@AndrisHUN NO motorsports have a point! Its all for the driver and what he wants to do with his car. Be it doing a 1/4 mile in 9 seconds, Driving a stock car in a circle 500 times, hitting freestyle jumps on your dirtbike or anything else. THERE IS NO POINT IN ANY MOTORSPORTS. Its all for the fucking thrill of it
This is a guy doing a burnout at a drifting competition, it's not drifting. Try again, please.
I'm an old road race guy myself, but I can still respect drifting. It's not racing, and has nothing to do with speed for sure, but it is both entertaining and difficult.
This is Formula D drifting. Abit of a difference. But you are correct. In the days of Prost and Senna with battles at say Imolo and Nurburgring I have to agree that circuit racing is much better. But the Formula D in the US seems nothing compaired to the Formula Drifting exhibitions in Japan. Drifting is abit more then what is shown in this vid here. Regarding Gilles. Amen to that!! I dislike sprint cars however. Going to the champ car races in june :)
Actually, this is drifting. It's Ken Gushi's Mustang (www.gushiauto.com) and it was filmed at a Formula D exhibition at the Grand Prix of Cleveland last year. If you want to see a real demonstration of driver skill, dig up some old videos of Gilles Villeneuve. Or go to your local Sprint Car track on a Saturday night and watch guys go three-wide into a turn ass end first at 120 mph. Drifting is the figure skating of motorsports.
Well this is not drifting. Why dont you learn what drifting is and film it. This Americanized parking lot junk has got to go. Drifting is definately a sport. It is a controlled lost of traction while going into a corner with the most amount of velocity and creating full controlled opposite lock. Anybody can do donuts and spin the car out. Being able to go around a corner sideways definately takes skill.
str8 line racing is dying, and asshole just hating on a newcomer... drifting said IN YO FACE

Cool burnout with the Mustang, I'm not a fan of drifting. It's annoying to see drifting getting more popular.

Drifting is a sport for poor people who can't afford good tires.
HappyKmore 5 years ago
drifting is as much a sport as say....ice skating. sure, it takes skill, but the competition is decided by judges.
leave that kind of driving to the big boys of WRC and off-road racing.
