I played with Papa Jo for two unforgettable weeks at Sandy's Jazz Revival on the North Shore outside of Boston in the mid 70''s. Greatest rhythmic experience of my life. I have tapes including an hour long monologue held in his hotel room that Jo insisted I tape. Jo was , simply put a jazz genius and created the feel and pulse and rhythms which became the sound of modern jazz.
