Every study they have done on Pythons in the everglades has been biased, wrong and portrayed to scare people. They want people to think if you walk down the street you see pythons everywhere, eating people and their pets. Like I said before I have never seen one in the loose in the everglades and I work in the everglades, for the last 15 years. If you dont know enough about a subject ....S T F U.......if you are not here, dealing with this B.S.......STFU......plain and simple........
@Jayhoyt32 WOW...you are a condescending prick, Its morons like you who like to take away peoples rights. I bet you are pro-life.........The media and certain politicians blew it all out of proportions just to start a law that says they can (and will) ban whatever animal they dont like. There are not 10s of thousands like the media says, nor are they destroying the everglades. Now go back to watching Glenn Beck and stop thinking for yourself.....it's embarrassing.
@JesterEve well using your screwed up way of thinking we should have no dogs, cats, parakeets, anything that is not indigenous to the U.S. "domestic cats" have done more damage to eco-systems than ANY snake ever will......and just for everybodys information....dont believe the hype....I am in the everglades almost everyday and I have never seen a python.......15 years now and not a one.
@305MiamiCracker So ALL of the proven statistics, studies, captures, and the many herpetologists studying and addressing the Burmese issue are all wrong. Simply because you've never seen one. Wow. Thanks for clearing it all up for everyone.
This is why we shouldnt keep pythons as pets in America. People end up letting them loose, then you find them crawling around your porch. or eating your dog.
@Daisytoo - you need to watch more vids before you make a sweeping statement like that. 2 minutes with a python is nothing compared to allowing a kid to play tackle football.

@smetlogik Sorry, he just looks very uninvolved, complacent, and rather "bored" which seems odd if this is a wild snake 'capture' -- ? Just an observation. Big snake, none the less.
not to be mean but it takes a real manly man to send 10 yr olds to catch a snake but still if he does it with no injuries thats cool but stil its dumb
Nice video! It's nice to see that you are sharing your passion with your son. I'll take my kids herping when I'll have them. I lived in Florida for 5 years so I've seen all those critters (and a copperhead). The only one I haven't seen in your video is the red, black, and yellow snake. What that a coral snake? And where did you find it? Some other types of herps to look out for in FL are the cuban tree frogs, glass lizards, skinks, nematoads, and the soft shell snapping turtle!
They have a problem with Pythons in Florida.Their an introduced species so I'm pretty sure they are paying a bounty for any python that is killed or captured. The last I heard they were.
We love herping. Your pictures and videos are great. We are members of the Jax Herp Society and just went herping at Ocean Pond. Would love to go thru the everglades!
I was down in the everglades last week and I'm pretty sure I saw one coiled around something on the bank of a waterway beside the road as we drove past. I only saw it for a second or two and I ignored it because I didn't know they were so common in Florida and thought it might be some garbage that looked like a coiled snake. But after watching the giant killer snakes episode of Monsterquest and seeing how they spotted quite a few snakes in one day, I'd think theres a good chance it was a python.
i just got back fro florida today and all i saw was a forida water snake, dead florida king, dead water snake, and dead everglades race. man, u guys have awsome luck!!
Excellent! You do realize that python (and the iguana for that matter) is not supposed to be there? I've heard they've got Nile Monitor lizards lurking about as well with other invasive species. Sad, but what an awesome sight! On 2nd thought, these species aren't invasive because it's not their choice to be there. Humans are the culprits.
Hey Rob, I was reading through all these comments and all people were talking about was the Burms, and I couldn't believe no one mentioned anything about the Scarlet King. hey smetlogik, i like the music! and also the burmese pythons arent native to florida they live in india(i think?) well anyways if you catch them your not suposed to let them go you have to take them to an animal hospital or something? well any ways love your vids keep it up. i'll be starting a herp channel on here in the spring!

i live in south florida. my dad and i have been looking for pythons for a long time. we finally found about 8 in one day. we were only able to catch two. we went out to this levee and walked about 6 miles altogether. it was awesome. by the way, where in everglades national park do you go raod cruisin to find all those snakes? we go camping out there and usually barely find anything. we usually cruise research road. also, when is a good time to go and under what conditions? thanks for your time
Nice video. Burmese pythons are released by people in Florida who can't keep them because they don't realize how large they get. They are starting to become a problem there since they are an invasive species and they are affecting the wildlife. People are trying to catch and relocate them.
