Before Game 5, with the Giants leading the series 3–1, Rentería joked with teammate Andrés Torres that he was going to hit a home run. In the seventh inning, with runners at second and third, two outs, and no score, Rentería hit a three-run home run off of Rangers' pitcher Cliff Lee that won the series for the Giants.
@JDnCoke1992 No probably about it. Burrell struck out in a one-out situation with a runner on third. Very bad at-bat. But Renteria says that all those pitches Burrell saw helped Renteria in his at-bat.
THIS VIDEO MUST BE RECORDED FOR EVERY GIANTS FAN, I AM SEEING IT DAILY AS A POSITIVE "KEEP GOING" ACTITUDE...GREAT FOR MUST SEEING VIDEOS PERSONAL COLLECTION!.
SINCE THAT I USE TO DRINK MORE COLOMBIAN COFFE,AND HOPE TO VISIT THE FAMOUS BARRANQUILLA(COLOMBIA) CARNIVAL!...THANKS RENTERIA!!
me siento orgulloso de ti edgar y me siento aun mas orgulloso por ser colombiano y llevar lo que tu llevas en tu registro civil y es ser de la ciudad de barranquilla
Great video. Thank you. It feels awesome to have our Giants finally win another World Series. I agree, Renteria was amazing. All of these 2010 Giants were/are blessed with the ability to rise to the occasion time and again. What a gift for the SF city and Bay Area. This is ridiculous as Brian Wilson said.
@falcon2160 And it was great the way they did it--going through Philadelphia, and without any accusations of PED. Nothing can be said to take this one away.
@someskits That was probably because the Rangers beat the Yankees. All of baseball's media is so obsessed with the Yankees that beating the Yankees is allegedly winning the World Series.
@jcsmmkyne I had intended to capture something like this, but I was extremely lucky to get this footage. I didn't even know it was a home run at first, because people were getting in front of me and jumping up and down--I didn't see the ball and thought we were cheering for a two-run double.
Then I saw the players jogging around the bases, and it hit me that I was capturing the city's reaction to a home run that might clinch the city's first title after 52 years of waiting.
WOWWWW Rentería espectacular jonrónn!!!!!!! Que orgullo para los Colombianos y Barranquilleros! Rentería what an awesome homerunn! You made us Colombians proud!
@junglenaut You must have been to the left of the tree I was orbiting around throughout the game--and probably a few feet up. With all the trees around, it was a tough place to situate yourself for a good view of the screen.
@junglenaut hi my friend i was fan of sf giants all my life, i whant to ask iu somhething. where you recorded this amazing video? i think that was the best moment in my life, 8 years ago i cried we were so close to win 6 outs y booom!!! the dreams desapered but this time was perfect...!!!
@blasterbans Actually, I recorded the video. This was taken in San Francisco, of course.
During the 2002 World Series (that you were referring to), they had a big screen in Yerba Buena Gardens for games 6 and 7. I was there for the heart-breaking game 6.
This time, they held it at the Civic Center Plaza (right in front of City Hall). They had a big screen for potential World Series clinching games if the Giants were on the road so that the hometown fans can watch together.

I hated how everyone favored the Rangers. In the media, including ESPN, went bias for the Rangers. I'm glad the Giants won.
