  • looks like the wall socked him in the nuts

  • Mark Martin, the greatest driver who never won a championship. But will always be a champion at heart.

  • @rjl1184 Could of won the 1992 championship (I believe it was) but they were docked 30 points due to post race inspection, causing Dale Sr. to win title.

  • @cenafan287

Your thinking of 1990. Alan Kulwicki won the 1992 championship.

  • @cenafan287

Just one of those Fridays. We all have them now and then.

  • @rjl1184 Yeap, and I totally agree with you. Mark Martin is the greatest driver who never won a championship. I like to call him "The all time bride maid" to the Nascar title. In my opinion he should of retire after he was done with hendrick, because I grew up a Mark Martin and I was shocked to see him go to HMR, but now I say WOW why Michael Waltrip, why a Toyota? I think now I will start cheering for Carl Edwards or Danica Patrick.

  • What where they laughing about?

  • classic, mark was always good for a crash,

  • @porkchop112699 We haven't seen anything yet! Just wait till he's in those Waltrip crash machines!

  • 1-2 davey allison and dale earnhardt.... enough said

  • @goomba1982

Dale and Davey couldn't have been 1-2 in this race, considering Davey had been killed in that helicopter crash in the infield at Talladega the previous July. Ernie Irvan was driving the #28 Texaco car in 1994 until he, himself, was nearly killed at Michigan on August 20. By the way, this was the second big crash of this race, if I remember right, as Jimmy Spencer had triggered a huge crash at the same place on the track earlier.

  • Keep in mind their silence during the crash is due to it being during a commercial break. When Bob starts talking as Mark stands next to his car, coverage has resumed.

  • Notice how many words AREN'T said here...until they have to speak. That's announcing.

  • Jeff Took out his future teamate

  • @MyJonny25 Jeff didnt take out anyone. He was a victim in this wreck

  • They're taking a left turnnnnnnnnnnnn :P

  • @ESCarnageProductions and your point is?

  • @flubber342 Jeff Dunham lol :P

  • the car took the road lol

  • Reminds me of Elliot Sadler's crash last year.

  • AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS CAR RACING IS BAD WAY TO MAKE A LIVING?

  • @1IIIIIIIIII1 Yes.

  • @1IIIIIIIIII1 if you have ever raced, then you would understand, imagin riding a roller coaster while going 5 times faster, then imagine that you are trying to compete with someone, then only you would understand mabey 25% of why these drivers love what they do.

  • @flubber342 I GET THE FEELING THAT YOU THINK I DONT UNDERSTAND..... PEOPLE LOVE DOING CRACK...BUT THAT DONT MEAN ITS A SMART OR GOOD WAY TO BE......HUMANS LOVE TO DO ALL KINDS OF UNNEEDED DANGEROUS THINGS....RACING IS JUST MANUFACTURED DRAMA AND HOLLOW SPORTS GLORY AND OR EGO FEEDIN BULLSHIT....UNDERSTAND?

  • @1IIIIIIIIII1 drugs are stupid and tastless, racing is fun and talentfull, it is 10 times more dangorus to drive your car 40 mph down the highway, because in a stock car, you have 10 times more protection than you have in a street car, indycar, f1, and othe open wheeled/cockpit auto racing sieries is still extremely dangorus, but it is no different from stock cars, and I don't get the manufactured drama part, there is no drama, more like cell phones and facebook is manufactured drama.

  • @1IIIIIIIIII1 so, you support people getting fucked up on crack or meth and going apeshit and ruining their lives? "some people love doing crack" yeah but it fucks you up. all sports can be fixed.

  • 7:40 lol the car is still running :D

  • The guy that flew head on into the wall was probabally thinking shit shit shit

  • Mark Martin grabs his privates.

I would do so too after a crash like that. Also I argee on the camera part. How DID it live through all that? O_o

  • OUCH!!!

Crotch straps - loved because they help keep you alive. Hated because they REALLY F-ing HURT when they do their job...

Somebody take Mark some warm spoons - he's gonna need them after that shunt...

  • Some impressive in car camera work.

I think Ned, Benny, and Bob were the best commentary team ever.

  • Bob , Benny and Ned . They made the best broadcasting team ever.

  • Martin after he gets done moving: Yeah...I'd like a new car please! And a clean pair of shorts!

  • thank goodness he was wearing the hans device also

  • @Lights0ut1109 There was no HANS device in '94. Also he did not finish the race, that car was totaled.

  • @Strngs012 oh my bad I was thinking about another race. I think it was at Charlotte where Martin hit head-on?

  • i think martin came back to finish the race

  • classic benny parsons, him and bob jenkins made the best combo ever

  • I absolutely LOVE getting to hear the live audio when they're not live on the air.....I remember watching all of these races live but getting to hear some of the things they talked about during commercials is very cool

  • Martin:

    LOOK MA! NO BR~ -Crunch-

  • 10:23 The Onion has hair .

  • Must be from the "wild feed" judging by Benny and Bob's banter. ( I used love those "wild feeds" ) 6: 12 Benny "This outa be a real shot"

8:23 does Marks voice sound an active or two higher? lol Glad he was ok though. dwarfcar76 , that's what I said when I watched it live he "nutted" himself 9:24

  • Watch Mark grab his nuts when his climbs out. That sub belt worked to good and crushed his twig and berries

  • I have been waiting for this entire video for quite a while. Thank you for posting!

  • Martin did look like he was running 200 mph when he mowed down those barriers, that roof cam crash was so cool, and I agree with BP when he said "How did that Camera live through all that?"

R.I.P; Benny Parsons, one of my very fave Nascar Announcers.

  • We almost lost one of the greatest drivers of all time

  • Is that BP calling the race?

  • "Say a prayer, Mark." No, what he was really saying was "JESUS CHRIST MY BALLS GOT KNOCKED INTO THE FUEL TANK OW OW OW."

Mark Martin is awesome. One of the toughest guys to ever strap on a stock car.

  • God I miss Benny :(

  • Do you see the safety crew? T-Shirts and Jeans. Good job Nascar on the safety improvements.

  • damn...i didn't think martin's car was ever going to stop!

  • 3:51 "I don't have any idea what that means." lol

  • I think he Shat himself

  • I have this race on tape. At the 00:52 mark is when they went on the air, so thanks Old School for showing the stuff that was off air. That interview with Mark that's on one of the best ones ever haha. That little guy is one tough mother.

Same day that Senna was killed in Imola. Earnhardt gave his respects to him in victory lane.

  • Damn! That was nasty!

  • 5-point restraint...one of those points is between the legs...so OUCH!

  • @MarkSentMe maybe thats how he became sponsored by viagra haha :D

  • i rememer watching that race

  • RIP Benny Parsons

  • Its amazing how the relief in Jenkins voice is so palpable, they really did think he was dead. Thankfully Mark only hit a couple of 'soft' barriers in a chain-link fence and a thin steel guardrail.

  • The view from Martin's car is my favorite in-car video of all time.

  • @3:43-4:47 wtf is up with the broadcasting HAHAHAHA ANO!

  • @MetalMilitia1811 That segment takes place during a commercial break in the broadcast.... This footage is from a direct satellite feed, and the announcers are not only talking to each other, but to the producers in the truck.

  • @MetalMilitia1811 This looks like a raw satellite feed, so it was still running while ESPN was on commercial break. You're seeing and hearing what happens during the breaks, so that's Bob and Benny just messing around until they come back on the air from the commercials.

  • They were very quiet when Mark hit the wall because they probably thought he died

  • That weekend was tragic and frightening in general.

  • This was a lot like the crash that killed J.D. McDuffy except his car landed upside down.

  • for the last time, he didn't lose his brakes, he was trying to find a bathroom!

  • I'm glad Mark turned out okay. That was a bad crash - I've never seen a race car pass through one guardrail and slam into a second one at such a high rate of speed. I'm also glad my favorite driver - Jeff Gordon - wasn't hurt in this accident, and that his car wasn't too badly damaged, although I'm always more concerned for a driver's safety than the condition of their race car.

  • Gordon was probably thinkin he was in good shape on the inside. Then all of a sudden Martin nails him. lol

  • He hurt the mcnuggets, I think that's why he had Viagra as one of his sponsors lol

  • This is indeed raw satellite feed. Pretty funny how you catch those guys cracking up during commercial, haha.

  • why were all these big wrecks in the 1990's on a commercal break? lol

  • i think i see a rookie strip on gordons car. thats really weird to see!

  • lol I loved Benny Parsons..."There he goes Rewinding that A&O"....and when they come back on the air you can still hear him cracking up

  • If he was still alive and broadcasting, would he be with TNT or ESPN/ABC? RIP Benny...

  • @itsalleternal

    ESPN for sure

  • @itsalleternal fox FTW!!

  • This wreck happened several hours after the San Marino Grand Prix.

  • @AutoRockinRacing94

....where we -sadly- lost Ayrton Senna DaSilva and R. Ratzenberger to some of the sport's nastiest crashes

    FOREVER AYRTON & ROLAND

  • @ma55aracin9

Actually, it was early in this race, the 1994 Winston 500, that I first learned of the death of Ayrton Senna. The race had been put under caution early in the race because a fan had thrown an empty water bottle onto the track. It was during that caution period when the commentators mentioned Senna's death earlier that day. It was somewhat similar to 1975, when Mark Donohue and Tiny Lund (at Talladega) suffered their fatal crashes on the same day.

  • Mark gave a great interview. Very hilarious when they all realized where he was hurt...lol.

  • Comment removed

  • Good quality.

  • I think this is actually the raw feed.

  • ...which is -currently- replaced with those "side-by-side" blocks during commercials, so to speak

  • I remember watching this race on tv.

  • holy crap
