YOU MUST USE CABLE CUTTERS to cut the cable housing. use good wire cutters to cut the actual wire cable, if you do not use the proper tools you will screw up the cable. these guys make it look easy but just be careful when installing your shit. i just recently installed odyssey brakes ( all odyssey stuff ) and the knight cable hanger

when intalling brakes put the adjuster in the middle, and squeez the brake pads onto the rim, so when your done you have adjustment either way, not at the minamum so when your riding and your brake cable streches you have to unscrew it tell its loose like a donkey dick...quantity over quality is why your smart brothers got shot into a ruber.

Other wise known as U-brakes...990 brakes have arms that mount on their own pivot points and work by pulling to a center point via a single cable, as opposed to the old side pull brakes where the cable runs through one arm and pulls the other side laterally.

go to dans comp and theres 990 plates that you can buy that bolt on and then you can run them, i think there fairly cheap. good luck

You have the 990 mounts but not cable guides? You can still run them, you'll just need to ziptie the cable to the top tube at some point and be a bit more precise with the tension/length of the straddle cable. You don't happen to have the cable guide through the bottom of your seat post where it meets the BB do you?

i for one dont prefer riding brakeless. i did it for a while and it was fine but i think that having brakes is nice. but i can see where u r comming from when u say that u like riding brakeless. i think that you have more controle over the bike, except for stopping. its better to have a linear cable cuz it has the wires in the housing so that the cable and housing does not bend ar kink.
