I had the same model and the same problem with Samsung´s so called warranty. I had enough and this piece of crap ended up at the bottom of the swimming pool. Never again any Samsung product in my house ever. I bought an Panasonic, same size and that one is 100% better in any way. Screw you Samsung.
my samsung a 750 lcd 120 hz lasted 2 months samsung did not help me so i had to deal with best buy they sent out a geek squad tech. he said the mother board was defective caused by a capacitor so i exchanged it for the same one within 24 hours the other samsung failed so i went with a sony
to everybody reading, if you know a good electronic repair man,the issue half of the time is a 2 dollar capaciter that when goes bad interupts the on/ off signal. had the same issue with a 46in lcd from samsung, replaced a swolen capaciter and everything is now fine. worth a try if your no longer under warrenty to check for swolen caps on back inside panel on lcd's. not very expensive if you know the right guy to fix it , it only takes about 10 minutes to fix.
DO Not attempt to repair yourself - I raised a service request online with Samsung (UK) and a TV shop contacted me next day to arrange repair. They are obviously admitting the TV is defective as mine is over 3yrs old so well out of guarantee!
dude, next time buy the extended warranty..you should know better that todays electronics dont last more then 6-8 years....so for an extra 15% more you have a 4 year warranty no questions asked....I've been there !!

I have the same problem with my Samsung lcd 50, just after 2 years the picture do not come on but the sound it is working. Can anyone help me please? What can i do about this mess
I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 50" SAMSUNG LCD, AFTER JUST 2 YEAR THE PICTURE DO NOT COME ONE JUST THE SOUND. CAN ANY ONE HELP ME PLEASE? WHAT CAN I DO OR BUY IT
I have same TV, and I had exactly the same problem you describe here. My TV did this for months before I fixed it. The problem is most likely the capacitors on your power supply board. They are failing on many Samsung TVs. They can be replaced easily *IF* you are a reasonably technical person who is comfortable with a soldering iron. Google "Samsung capacitor replace" and you'll get plenty of reading material on the subject, including video tutorials on how to replace the parts.
29razorbock29,MrJoemumford,bever49,maltyful & bankguy1000 are all the same pathetic loser. This douche spent his life savings on a TV and now that it's broke, like himself, all he can do is cry about it and troll the internet badmouthing Samsung. 2 or 3 years from now, when my LCD is still working great and you're still acting like a 4 year old, you can go fcuk yourself. BTW I have a Samsung and it's AWESOME!
My 46 inch lcd just out of warranty started clicking on and off for days now it won't come on at all. Less then 15 months and the tv takes a dump is unacceptable. I'm screwed along with thousands of other samsung customers with the same problem. Put samsung tv clicking into a google search and read the truth about these junk tvs.
You know what so funny about it. Not just samsung tv have these problem. ANother tv have these problem too. Like Sony and Lg. Just that Flat tv is not that last longer like old tv back in old time Tube tv. I rather get big thick 32" heavy tv with two big speaker inside than any Flat tv that is too new
My 46 inch Samsung lcd started this clicking and quit working. You would think as much as these tvs cost that they would last more than 14 months. I was screwed and will never buy samsung again.
@maltyful i have a samsung 40" lcd tv i forget what series mite be 6 or 7, its round 7months old and havnt heard any clicking noises, after reading up and searching it seems alot of people have had the clicking problem after the warranty has expired some even before, do you have any advice for me???
that happens when overnight, all the capicators loose there charge, then when you turn it on, the surge of charging all the caps causes the power unit to overload. it works second time because the caps are charged when its turned on.
I had my 42" Samsung TV about a year and a half, before it started acting up. it would just turn off like it was hot. Got that repaired; Now the picture will blink on for a second then blacks out. Model# HLP4663W. Please don't buy a LCD big screen TV Penny, Winston-Salem, NC
my samsung 40" has the weirdest issue .....it turns on automatically and keeps on changing channels......nd u cant stop it with a remote u have to turn it back off manually.,....plz if someone knows how to fix the problem ....and yeah samsung would not change the set so i am in alot of tension if any body knows what i shud do plz plz plz reply!!!

Samsung is one of the better brands... I don't know why people assume just because their TVs broke down that the entire company is shit. They're just unlucky. No electronic is completely abstain from problems. That's why someone invented the warranty.
People are just to quick to say the company sucks. You can buy extended warranty . I just bought a New 40B750 and I did purchase an extended warranty 4 yrs. $299 cnd. Hope to enjoy my TV for years. Consumer Reports doesn't recommend buying any extended warranties but its really up to the buyer. Peace of mind can be worth it.
Both my samsung lcd flat screen and 2 week old samsung instinct phone crapped out, i took it back they said too bad you must of dropped it, but the screen is broken inside and there is no damage to the actual screen, Thanks for nothin telus and Samsung.
Same problem, poor tech and customer support. We are on our replacement TV under warranty and the identical problem. Now the warranty has expired and Samsung isn't even responding to the issue.

can anyone help me? i've got a samsung LE32B450C4W, it has HDTV but, when i watch TV, the quality sucks =S but my old tv, the picture quality was great!!! so is there anything I can do to get the HD quality??? please help, thanks
well i love the LCD tvs technology, the Picture Sound and contrast are all nice and the contrast is only 10 000 - 1 imagine the new models have like 50 000 so i think it is a wise choice. and that one your getting is 1080p to make it sweeter, mines only 1080i but samsung is the way to go. we have 3 of them(all lcd) and are buying a 4th soon hopefully(plasma)
I have a 40 inch samsung. Amazing picture but after 4 months the TV shuts off by itself. It freezes in a way that when you use your remote control and press any button it will shut down the TV. Apparently Samsung is having a MAJOR problem with their on/off sensitive button which is causing these issues. I've always bought Sony but I just loved Samsung's pic quality but now I am going back to Sony TV. Samsung does make great cell phones but their TVs have major problem across the board. Stay away
All, try turning off DNI. I've had the problem...had one tv replaced, another repaired and now it's happening again. Turned off DNI and it seemed to work okay. Turned DNI back on and it has the issue.
Turned DNI back off and it is working.
Samsung says they never heard of the problem. The techs I've talked to never heard of the problem.
I think DNI hoses these tvs but Samsung is not going to admit that becasue they tout DNI as the best thing ever to happen to digital tv.
Choose Menu on the remote, then Setup. DNI is an option in there. Please note, however, that this is only a temporary fix. The problem will soon return.
Ironically, I have a call in to Samsung - for repair again and the issue has been escalated up in their chain of command. I referenced the YouTube videos on the subject and that seemed to make a difference - though I bet I will be paying for the repair and stuck with a big black lemon sitting in my home.
Mine happens randomly but only when i change formats 420 to 720 to 1080pi, i have to turn it off then on again. my time is wrapped to much into this im just thankful i can turn it on , I just figured u gotta roll with it until the freakin wheels fall off doesnt matter what tv it is everything wasnt made to last. Until u cant turn it on --then cross that road. PPl buy insurance on their car get it wrecked and dont even get compensated for half its worth, ppl get scew jobbed everyday
SAME EXACT PROBLEM. Some times i have to mess with it a couple hundred times to get it to work. I've had the screen replaced two times the power supply once aswell as the main board. After all this Samsung offered me an exchange from the 4665 to the A650, I dont know if I should take it cuz I hate the touch of color. I really just want my money back...
After months of battling with samsung and an irritated Samsung Field tech, they finally replaced it. The retail of the replacement was about 1000 less, but works everytime.
@Nernburgler i have a samsung 40" lcd tv i forget what series mite be 6 or 7, its round 7months old and havnt heard any clicking noises, after reading up and searching it seems alot of people have had the clicking problem after the warranty has expired some even before, do you have any advice for me???
we have the Sony Bravia XBR4 52inch, and when we turn it on it make a real loud single BUZZ, then clicks, then turns on, then screen flashes a couple of times then everything is normal.........
got the same problem with my samsung lnt 4665. Turn it on, the panel makes some buzzing sounds, pixture flashes on, and goes off. mine is still broken, and picture doesnt return! just passed its manufacturer warranty by 2 months. what a joke...
Beware because I do own a Samsung LN40A650 for 2 week so far and already have couple problem like loose bezel, purple haze, flashlight on the corner & no closed caption on SDTV mode. I love my old Panasonic Plasma TH42PX75U compare to this Samshit.
i feel so bad for people who have problems with such expensive items .. seeing so many bad reviews im so caucious about buying my new tv when i drop 1500 :/
after coming with the same issue with a samshit slimmfit tv, all i can say is, keep calling best buy, they will give you whatever you paid back for store credit. I returned my samshit and got an LG lcd which so far, so good
i feel for ya guy. one thing that I have found out with best buy is they get their stock much from like factory outlet type installations. alot of their products are faulty to begin with. I purchased two laptops both faulty right out of the box. one was cracked on the case, the other completly came apart when it was opened up to power it up. best buy will not stand by their products that is why they only offer a 14 day exchange policy. good luck to you and i feel for you

I have same prob. with my 37" series 5.
Listen it is overheating issue, particularly when u plug high resolution devices.
Just try to put a small fan behind TV! it is magic, it will continue working...video and audio. So it is overheating prob.
It is too late to take it back, otherwise; I would change it with Sony or Philips.
Good luck!

Dude, I feel for you. I'm looking at getting a Samsung LN40A650 or LN46A650. What model do you have?
evener007 3 years ago
Beware because I do own a Samsung LN40A650 for 2 week so far and already have couple problem like loose bezel, purple haze, flashlight on the corner & no closed caption on SDTV mode. I love my old Panasonic Plasma TH42PX75U compare to this Samshit.

after coming with the same issue with a samshit slimmfit tv, all i can say is, keep calling best buy, they will give you whatever you paid back for store credit.
