Black eyed peas used Maesto Illayaraja's old tamil song from the film sri ragavendra starring Rajinikanth. They remixed it and named it 'The elephunk Theme'.It was released in Germany but taken back from World wide release CDs fearing copyright issues. The original song was sung by S.Janaki & Malaysia Vasudevan.
grow up yaar... its a song... dun look at what de lyrics portrays but how she dances, de energy.. and for 11 yrs old, its a big achievement ok... try to look from positive aspects..
goodness! All these comments about how good she is! Has anyone bothered to find out more about the Tamil lyrics? Certainly NOT something a 11 year old should be singing or dancing to! What the hell is going on with these people? What are they thinking??
Yes am from Tamilnadu and i agree, the lyrics are too sexy for a 11 yr old girl to dance. But well only Tamilians can understand :P that too to be noticed closely..no doesnt matter..
Yes this is a song with sensual lyrics. But is subtle and not crude. This is from Rajinikanth's 100th movie in early 80s. Music director is Ilaiyaraja. But this is title song of Black eyed peas' album Elephunk. They are a band from U.S who liked Ilaiyaraja and wanted to remix his song.
I guess the rhythm, beat, hip hop is what is moving her and she don't even understand the lyrics.
Wow! Did u hear that??? Yahaan tak aana hi apne aap main jeet hai [Comin up till here itself is Victory] Surprisingly mature & level headed answer for a 11yr old... i'm sure this kid would grow up 2 be a phenomenon... maybe the next Madhuri coz of her talent, confidence, maturity & simplicity... Mwaaah! Little baby! God bless!
I like the confidence in the girl. No matter how many times the east-west fusion has been tried, it always has and always will turn out to be an exciting adventure. Bravura.....Well done, saumya!!
i guess a good idea but she has potential to do better. I think the whole indian meets west thing has been done a few times and there all the same way so maybe that's why i got bored.
Its not really about how many times the concept has been shown, but the fact that she is very versatile as a dancer. She is also a good performer and you can see that on the judges faces. Overall I think it was a great dance, fun choreography.
All dancers have the potential to do better. She's just a child, I consider this exceptional for someone her age. But thats coming from someone who is a dance teacher.
The Song is called "The Elephunk Theme" by Black Eyed Peas. Initially this song was on the "The Elephunk" Album. Unfortunately, I think for some legal concerns (that ehy might have have with Maestro Illayaraja) they've removed it from subsequent album copies.
But heard it could be found in the German version of the album. The song is quite hard to find by itself.

translation of the tamil song
now people decide if the song is appropriate for the girl this age
" right till dawn pleasure is our diminion,
new titillations will commence from our bedroom, cream is slithering, fabric is enveloping, intimacy increases the eagerness to reach the heaven."

i still wonder why there r some people who always look for negativity or mistake in others.......
dont limit oneself with age...see the ability of dancing....thats my thought.
