Nady TD-1 tube distortion pedal demo ?

Have you tried changing the stock tubes on this, and what were the results like sonically?

I started to change the tube and was put off by being unable to deal with the disassembly. It is pretty major surgery and after several years with the pedal I am nearly ready to do it.

I am not sure what the results would be though all who have done it say it makes it better.

Once I have it apart and working like that I would try some different tubes. Old RCA GE maybe even Mullard.

12 ax7 aT 7, maybe even a U but I doubt it.

Thank you, that sound is the adapter end of the mic cable going into the camera. too many adapters stuck together. Not part of my rig really.

What guitar are you using with the pedal? Single coils or humbuckers? Sounds pretty nice actually.

I got this one....and I got the old (2 knob) Nady TD-1, and the old is soooo reliable and sound so good it's not even funny !!! The other is just stand-by ;)

Cincidentally I also have an old one, A TO-2 , the later one with concentric eq controls, and in some ways maybe it does sound better. I got this one to save wear and tear on it, but also to get the slightly more up-front and blistered sound of the new one, with a little more bass. It pretty much does all that, and when I get really bored I will try another tube in it to shine it up a bit.

I have put a gold plated EHX12AX7 in it and the difference was quite dramatic. But I did find a NOS Mullard 12AT7 in the TD-1 :)

I totally understand that. This is pretty bulletproof though, and it has softened my own opinions on certain Nady gear.

it just depends on the pruduct. like their power maps suck. and their speakers. i used a wireless system from them before but it stopped working. i used to have one of their MXE 812 mixers and that thing rocked. but my friend broke it.

Carving, Hi, The song I refer to as having a dark side of Oz synchronicity with this clip is on an album called "Wolf City" by Amon Duul II Breifly popular in the early seventies. What I am playing is almost completely random. A riff from one of my other vids. Takes on bits of "Tommy" General Dropped D riffing A bit of a song I am working on. A take on the chorus of "Hey Man Nice Shot" Just completely random. Sounds. I a gratified that YouTubers like it. Thank you.
