  • Awesome! Scary stuff though. I've never been that close to one.

  • beautifull tornado

  • 1:15 Wow.

  • How much twisters did you end up filming that day?

  • Wonderful

  • KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

  • HI ALGUÉM SABE FALA EM PORTUGUES AQUI É DO BRAZIL KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

  • loool! @ 0:36 This is Amazing! Im sure it was!! I just thought it was funny how he said it lol

  • that rain was loud i had the volume up felt like i was in that car lol

  • Im watching this during a tornado warning. Not helping me stay calm.

  • did you get any stills or video of the OKC F5?

  • how fast was this tornado?

  • @AJTwister97 I'm sorry I've honestly never heard of those people.

  • Nice it looks cool is that a F5 tornado

  • This was the beautifullest Tornado i have ever seen. U can trust me, in Geramy/europe we donna had a Tornado like this before, i love this Tornado, reallly...

  • at 3:20 the shot is absolutely stunning. lucky you were there to capture it!

  • that is gorgeous, looks like another funnel is forming to the right

  • wow thats a beautiful one right there. subbed

  • HAHA im in sweden hoh :)

  • ach du scheeeeeiiiiiißßßßßßeeeee o_0

  • ach du meine scheiße o_O

  • man thats national geographic material, what an awesome catch.

did you ever have the footage turned into HD video or encoded to HD or whatever the tech term is for it.

  • so cows really do fly in tornados like the movies

  • I find it funny that some people suggest he drives into the tornado to see what's it like inside, because if he did do that, he'd probably be dead. A tornado like this, with rotation like THAT, would definitely be able to suck him into the vortex.

  • so its in 1999 and there are 199999 views? must be a sign,im the 200,000th though.Yay me.

  • Did you miss out on the F5 tornado on that same date

  • I just have a question, can a tornado bigger than a f2 come in Buffalo NY?

  • @uofl2004 Thank you!

  • Beautiful capture.

  • God that day was scary, My husband was in Moore in the middle of the mile wide one. This is great footage, This tornado was beautiful. Wow.

  • Comment removed

  • that tornado is moderate, but im only judging by the rotational speed. wut was the F- Scale reading for this tornado, cuz to me, it looks like an F2/F3

  • @AJTwister97 It was rated F1 due to the fact that the only structure damaged was a barn.

  • BEAUTIFUL!!! Yeah, a shame you couldn't get any HQ stills. Could have been on a weather calendar!!! :-D Very cool! At one point, you can see the different layers of rotation around the wall cloud. I bet there were at least 3 layers of rotaton within the main vortex!!! Thanks, for sharing!!! Oh, and... What kind of retard would get out of the car and run toward the tornado and play around in it..... I'm just shaking my head here.... Thanks again!!! :-D

  • @Landotter1

I really doubt if there if there was any consumer type of HD available in 1999. Yeah, that retard also asked me to take his picture in front of the tornado Yea right!! Thanks.

  • WOA :0

  • Super!

  • a new tornado 1:55

  • i was almost hit by this but i caan't remember anything about that daay but then again i was only 3

  • sparkling personality. Nerd

  • I thunk these here cuntry bumpkins should just run up to it and release their parrachutes.

  • did anyone else hear a cow at 2:37 or that something else

  • @billabob45 It's a car, but it does sound kind of like a cow.

  • Sounds like Gary England to me!!!

  • @Landotter1 It is

  • do u have rain x on ur windshield?

  • "This is a deadly tornado"

    So cool!

    "...This tornado has killed people"

    WHAT GREAT FOOTAGE! :D

    "People have died"

    Such awesome structure!

"This is a very serious storm"

    WHOOOOOO!!!!!!

    Haha I love stormchasers :P

  • I lived in Oklahoma most of my life...and let me tell some of you crazy people...YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE NEAR A TORNADO!

  • it's safe enough to come up behind the funnel, they do drift downwind along with the clouds - barring the disappearance of one funnel and the appearance upwind of you of a new one -

  • Wow! This makes me wanna go visit Oklahoma! I would really like to see one in person. :)

  • this wasnt the big one tho

  • nul!!

  • woot! you are such a dare devil! I would NOT have done that!

  • Omg

  • TORNADOS DERTROY HOUSES AND EVERYTHING IN OR WAY BUT IS THE NATURE ND DE NATURE IS BEATIFUL.

  • its just... beautiful.

  • @kkjhhkjhkj

Obviously you don't know how far it was and in an area of no roads in the direction of the tornado. Besides Im out there for get it on camera. Do your research before you send any insulting comments.

  • @kkjhhkjhkj

Check out my encounter on May 10th 2010 when a part of the tornado blew out all but one window of our vehicle, now thats close....

  • @kkjhhkjhkj dude, what the fuck, you wouldve died if u went into an F5 tornado

  • @kkjhhkjhkj you would die

  • @kkjhhkjhkj any moron can get sucked up by a tornado. All you have to do is be stupid and not take shelter. These people like Jim are out there putting their lives on line line to save people who come up with moronic ideas like yours. You should consider your words before you put them down.

  • @kkjhhkjhkj who the hell would do this??

Are you just trying to troll?

  • @kkjhhkjhkj you have 2 take safety measures first and that wouldnt have been very safe.....

  • @kkjhhkjhkj it is not cool being inside a tornado. trust me, i found out the hard way, and i'm only 14

  • @AJTwister97 No one can get inside a tornado unless you want to die. It is completely impossible. You'd pretty much be ripped to shreds.

  • @NJFire1906 then how does reed timmer and sean casey get in?

  • @AJTwister97 They use expensive, heavily modified vehicles, and every year brings new refinements to the TIV and the Dominator.

  • @bookworm1960 i know that. I watch Stormchasers. i was just making a point to that NJFire1906 dude.

  • @kkjhhkjhkj what? is that possible? and then live to put it on youtube?

  • @cyclonejimcom

your a lucky bastard i love storms so im more into cyclones and hurricanes and love lightening and all but tornadoes are pretty cool as i said lucky bastard

i wanted to see yasi that just happened here but im in another state and i doubt they'd let me in

  • @kkjhhkjhkj owend...

  • @kkjhhkjhkj I run into the tornados

  • @kkjhhkjhkj 'Cause you know, that's not a 300+ F5 tornado. Going into it would be just fine.

  • @kkjhhkjhkj woah dude you would die if your in a normal car but if your in a tank id do it

  • @kkjhhkjhkj he does not want to risk erious injury dumbshit

  • @kkjhhkjhkj hahahaah are you dumb? Or just plain stupid?

  • @kkjhhkjhkj lmao you obviously dont really understand what a tornado is....

  • @kkjhhkjhkj My god you're an idiot.

  • i sure miss living in tornado alley.I live in southern arizona now.No thrilling weather here.

  • Not a tornado, chuck norris playing with a science project

  • Out of all the tornadoes I've seen, this is one of the most beautiful, mainly because of the sweep of the larger wedge 1/2 way up to the base. Awesome!

  • lol why is he driving towards it

  • Omg wow it was really huge. Have u seen anything bigger then a F5? Or is there such this?

  • why were u driving TOWARDS IT?!

  • @2000reeda

Im driving towards it because I was trying to get closer to it.

  • Beautiful; I like seeing the dust and debris easily distinguishable from the cloud material by the brown color versus white.

  • i live in carnegie and fort cobb is not far from there...plus i was 13 years old and i don't remember this at all

  • wow never seen a tornado look like that before

  • hes all god god god

  • who is dis guy talk to much GOD OMG SO AMAZING its not like u havent seen one before

  • I lived through this when I was 3..

  • -That was great-

  • A classic pretty funnel before the deadly strike of F5.

  • why does it sart and when does it end

  • A Nice Tornado ;) very good

  • hell yeah! good footage - nice n steady for the most part. not all shaky like everyone elses footage.

  • awesome!! i think i saw another one to the right awesome vid

  • fukin glad i live in nz

  • I`d never try to get that close to a tornado!

  • i hope one day i can see one but not be on the bad end of the deal hopefully

  • very amazing thing im my book one the most beatuiful things nature can create but at the same time beatuiful things can be the the most deadly things this is a pure example of that

  • Absolutely spectacular specimen of the twister breed. Best in Show!!!

  • "Do you have like a regular camera?" What a douche bag! LOL

  • This is one of the most beautiful storms I have ever seen! Amazing!

  • Got to be one of the best looking tornadoes ever filmed. The color along with the structure is absolutely awesome.

  • i was in both this f3 and the f5 i think i was like 5 at the time and it destroyed my house (and the rest of the city) and also

@CROUELLETTE there is no such thing as an f6 tornado. on May 3, 1999 a tornado with wind speeds of 318 was announced to be the fastest wind speed ever recorded and it was an f5 on the Fujita Scale the new Enhanced Fujita scale is practically based around the May, 3rd tornado. if you have any questions private message me i have been studing tornados for about 4 years.

  • looks like spun cotton candy

  • That guy really knew how to film a tornado! Excellent! What a structure!

  • buddy that was a f3 that thing could tear up your ass that was just the beginning of the deadly day the f5 wasnt far behind, it was only a couple of hours after the f6 formed, you are right though it does look pretty weak compared to the 318 m.p.h f6 tornado

  • I'm glad I moved down to Texas haha, I had an f-5 roll through my neck of the woods in 1993 in Tulsa and hopefully thats the last I ever see

  • this is cool when you are 50 miles away

  • I notice there is virtually no sound with this tornado............

  • you are one the greatest storm chasers out there

  • This was part of the massive tornado outbreak beginning with the massive F-5 tornado south of Oklahoma City.

  • COOOOL What contrast and color do you love the most on funnel clous and twisters?

  • Who is the guy talking on the radio?

  • That guy on the radio is Gary England of kwtv channel-9 of Oklahoma city simocastingon the radio.

  • @cyclonejimcom *simulcasting

  • I don't know about "weak" that thing could still tear you up. I don't think i would want to try to run through it

  • Beautiful...but weak. I would say this is an F-0 or F-1 at best by the looks of it. Heck, you could run up to it in the field, and run through the funnel I bet, and be ok...I dont know for sure, but I think so.

  • Those specs are fully grown trees flying through the air, some are probably 50 feet high. I would give it a high end F-2 maybe low end F-3 at its strongest.

  • very nice!

  • I am amazed at how quiet the tornado is towards the end of the video. Listen closesly enough at 2:40 and you can hear a cow!

  • @ncatina Actually it's a car, but it does make a Moo like sound.

  • that tornado happened on my first birthday :(

    (im 11 years old)

  • i was born 2 days after that LOLZ

  • Nobody really cares that it was your birthday.

  • It's a good thing that I didn't see this video before I moved to Gracemont. Yikes!!

  • This is one of the best tornadoes I have seen. The contrast in colors was awesome. That had to be something to see in person. The best contrast storm I've seen in person is a white funnel cloud with a brown wall cloud that nearly touched the ground in Mayfield Ok. Although it was never an official tornado, it was something to see. It was very strange looking. It looks a lot like a tornado in the stills, but you can tell it's a wall cloud by watching the video.

  • was that the F5??

  • No, It was probably an F-3 at it strongest but the F rating is only given to tornadoes the hit structures and this one was in open country.

  • If it didn't hit structures it would be rated F0.

  • That F-3 rating is my own rating as it appeared that strong because of the rate it pulled > 40ft. trees by the roots and flung them around the vortex at high speeds.

  • That would be consistent with footage I saw of the F3 near Mulvane, Kansas.

  • @dragonridley it has nothing to do with what it hits it has to do with how much damage was done (it can still be called an F2 with no structures hit). this could easily be an F2. I'm no expert, that I will be honest about, but like most people interested in weather I know a little more about tornadoes than the average person.

  • @ZipBalloon

Yes a tornado is rated by damage, and if a tornado doesn't hit anything it won't do any damage. Though I do understand that tornadoes can be rated based on damage to trees. But I have read in NOAA articles that, as of 1982, if a tornado does no damage that can be rated, the storm is given a rating of F0.

  • Just wondering, what is the differece between the F scale and the EF scale?

  • Both the F scale and EF scales measure the damage of the tornadoes the same. Only thing that is different is wind speed estimations are different for each damage rating. On the F scale, the damage was estimated to be caused by winds from somewhere around 260 to 318 mph for an F5, as where an EF-5 is estimated at 201 mph or greater for the same damage. S. Fujita even had a discription for an F6, but it was not used in the F scale because he figured it wasn't likely, and damage is much like an F5.

  • Ok, thanks. I suppose the news channels use EF scale now because it is a more refined scale.

  • yes all of the news stations use the EF scale.

  • WOW. NIce man!

  • I wish I was there O_O

  • i would be scaird to chace that storm already scaiend enough when it happend

  • Przejebane

  • lol , the other guy is funny

  • and boy was it a big one comin next!!

  • whoa!!! i need to get that windshield treatment for my car....O.O

  • this storm eventually put out a BIG twister

  • superbe!

  • Contemporaneously menacing yet picturesque. Terrific upload. Thanks.

  • that tornado looks mean and the storm.

  • I'm 10 yrs old and when i was like... 6 months old that f5 tornado was 12 blocks away from my house! my papa and my pepa came up into our yard and got me and my mom. i dint no wat da hell was going on!

  • This wasn't an F5 there were over 70 tornadoes that day and the F5 was just one of them (An I use "just" loosely as it was the strongest and worst of the outbreak).

  • lol 10 years old you have no pubes yet :P

  • my baby and i lived thur that day also(she was 1)

  • I know I have not seen all of your videos or footage that you ever got in your lifetime, but out of all of them that I have seen I put this at the top of the best tornado footage! I mean it just spinning there in that field right next to you and how photogenic this thing was.

By the way are you a storm chaser LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • very cool

  • f 5

  • Actually this wasnt an F5. There was an F5 on that day in Oklahoma, but there were also 72 other tornadoes.

  • actually it was 76

  • ok, thanks, I wasn't sure of the exact number.

  • ... cool...

  • My parents had just recentley seen 3 tornadoes at once.

  • i live in chickasha

  • 1:26 doesnt look like it was moving

  • sometimes i wonder why my parents chose to move us to Oklahoma lol cool vid though:)

  • Pfft, more like why does ANYONE live in central eastern states, where you practically live inside your INSURANCE, rather than your HOUSE?

  • Both are good chasers. More respect should be given to the pre TWISTER & PRE MAY 3 1999 chasers tho. We didnt have mobile or cell phone internet a camera phone etc. A cell phone to TALK on if it worked in the boonies & a scanner with an overpriced camera...oh yeah they used to use film btw. :-p

  • I turned 4 on that day, lawl.

  • That was amazing.

  • dude shaddup. your bad acting is killing it for me.
