@Jakathera you probly had the volume turned up to high I will say that it could have been played with lower notes for the high notes they were a little sharp almost tinny

@kipperdude1 I would blame the recording quality for the sound being unpleasant. This piece (at least in my opinion) requires quite a bit of precision (not just in the playing, but the damping and general tone) and driving feel that chimes lack when compared to the bells.

this is real awesome...i also play in a handbell choir, but here in germany.we were the first student handbell choir from germany and an older group could play this, but not in that high speed, this is just incredible!

I played this song in high school! It's really fun (although I think more so for the treble than the bass). Kudos to this choir for precision - especially on the malleted section in the middle. Bass players need to look like they're actually having fun, though - it makes it more enjoyable for the audience.

I remember when I played the bells, I used to get bruises on my chest from when I would accidently bang the larger bells against my chest after a note. It rlly rlly rlly hurtt

Not true...you are wrong. Mallets can be used to produce music on the handbell. Your handbell choir must not have learned that technique.

I subbed for our bass bell player, and those things are HEAVY. xD You must have serious muscles. I can hardly ring the biggest ones two-handed, but I've seen people ring them with one hand, which is only a little ridiculous. :D

well i wear a special wrist thing bc it was seriously hurting my wrist for a while, but with practice, it becomes easier. i didnt rly have much muscles to begin with lol, but now u've kinda developed some O.o its seriously a workout sometimes though haha xD!

Wow. xD The other bass ringer carries both bass bell cases at once, which is like...three or four bells per case. It's not quite the same as ringing them, but still!

If you use metal sticks, sure, but they make mallets especially for handbells that are wrapped so they do not damage the bells.
