    G

  • thanks Lawrence~ this is on the album Memphis Masters :

Early American Blues classics 1927-1934 on Yazoo records.

  • Where the hell did you find this? Very similar style to Blind Willie McTell, but a very unique voice. Great find man.

  • All his 4 records were in Memphis Tennessee 27 February 1928 for Okeh, as Urban said. Death Bell Blues, Worry Blues, Happy Blues and Labour Blues.

  • thanks for comment and info

Sorry, we know so little about him, but it's the music that counts.

Just a small comment. Side 2 is Happy Blues and rec.date Mon 27 Febr 1928, OK8590, Okeh Label.

    Peace Brother !

  • thanks Urban

  • I just love this style of playing. That thumbed bass and 2 finger melody pick. On this piece he really uses it creatively! I'm a huge fan of the Okeh label form 20's blues through 60's funk! Why didn't they record more of this cat though?

  • Very interesting guitar playing, sounds great!

  • Wonderful song with inventive guitarplaying!
