good video and well presented, but there are a few flaws with refilling the HP cartridges this way,

1.) this is a generic ink you are using, you said yourself its for a wide range of cartridges and HP cartridges need a specific ink to get the best results, theres about 300 tiny nozzles on the head of this cartrige and using the wrong ink will just result in a partial or complete blockage

2.)there is a copper strip running down the back of the cartridge with a few metal contacts on, .......

.... this will wear out eventually and cause the cartridge to be 'not recognized'

3.) you have absolutely no idea how much ink the cartridge takes, overfilling will again cause a blockage on the head of the cartridge due to too much pressure ..

non the less this can work but as the previous person stated they are a bit hit and miss

Refill kits are hit and miss. The problem is you aren't refilling under a vacuum so the foam inside doesn't properly absorb and suspend the ink. Also, if it's run empty it won't prime and won't work. I just buy at the refillmyink website because it's cheap and 100% guaranteed then I donate the empty to my kid's school.

A question, though. You probably have these instructions in your ink refiller package on the website, but I was wondering- how would you refill a color cartridge? They have 3 colors included, so I was wondering how you would do that. Does it have 3 injection points? Thanks.

Don't bother with refills. Sometimes Ink cost more then printer itself, that's right. But get yourself Canon or other printer that uses separate tanks for different colors. And the last thing you want to do is to use 3-rd party ink. They never give you the same color and cartridges will stop working after 1 or 2 refills. So you save nothing. Just getting yourself a mess and a headache.

I'm looking for what kind of ink to buy? I have a HP Photosmart 2575v all in one. I want to goto town and locate some ink, and I'd like to know what type of ink will work, not no refill kits, ect. Just some bottles of Black Ink. I searched but could not locate the type of ink used in the cartridge. Thanks

He missed a very important thing: this doesn't work on an old cartridge. You have to refill one that went empty recently because they all have a sponge inside. It has to stay damp to work. If it's totally dried up, it won't work when you refill it. Therefore, you shouldn't be surprised if the six-month old cartridge you found in your desk doesn't work after refilling it.
