  • Frank Sinatra was the greatest singer of popular Americam standards ever.

Anbody who doesnt recognise this fact, simply has no musical ear.

    It really is that simple.

  • wow abc news pretty much sucked back then

  • What do you mean, "back then"? They've improved? lol

  • you could tell that mark mullen had been crying

  • sinatra...sooo...smooooooth

  • "he was just a singer"???? who gives a SHIT if someone writes a song?!!! any shmo can write a song...singers is what EVERYONE looks at and what touches people more than anything...sinatra might not have had the smoothest voice but there is no peer in comparison to raw emotion and the conveying of that emotion in the highest artistic way possible. NO ONE comes close to sinatras voice. the man sings a song written for a black man (ol man river) and conveyed it better than any black man ever did.

  • Still so sad to me....A true legendary figure.

His music to this very day is still having an impact throw cover songs & samples.

Everybody from Kid Rock to Jay-Z...

The talk with Michael Jackson is just insane.

He was no where near frank as a singer...

And in my opinion would have been where as a dancer if it werent for Sammy Davis Jr.

I would never speak down on any man who has passed, and i give MJ his respect, but dont get carried away.

  • He crossed boundaries NO ONE else did then or since. He was one extraordinary human being with extraordinary talents we are not likely to witness for another 100 years (maybe).

  • Ok lets just get one thing straight. Frank Sinatra by far was the greatest singer of all time, so stop talking about MJ in any WAY!

  • What does Michael Jackson have to do with Frank Sinatra?

  • Man, I still remember the morning this came on.....Has it already been so long?

  • This isn't MJ so shut the hell up about him. When you want to talk about him, you've to do that at some MJ vids NOT HERE!

  • This reminded me of special report music back then. Now its shorter. Sinatra was a true classic!

  • MJ was a lip-synching child molester who had one or two songs that were "okay", to put him in the same category as Sinatra is an insult to every musician everywhere

  • blah, blah, blah. You know nothing about music. Yes, MJ was accused of child molestation, but wasn't FS accused of raping a young women in his time. I guess you'll deny that, seeing as he's YOUR hero.

  • Seeing as he was not yes he might deny it... They were both great to different types of music MJ was ACCUSED not CONVIVTED there is no evidence he did so why make an assumption you don;t know is true

  • As far as talent goes, NO ONE is in the same league as MJ, unless you mean as a group the Beatles. Frank Sinatra didn't even write his own songs. He was just a singer.

  • Just a singer?! Sinatra ate 3 chumps like MJ for breakfast...

  • The irony of you talking about something being an insult when you're making false claims about an entertainer of which you will never in your life have any proof of so you need to be quiet.

  • =[ I wanted to see him live.

  • R.I.P Frank Sinatra.... yes Michael Jackson is good, but Frank Sinatra was the first to wear the crown of the King of Pop. Then it was passed down, and eventually made it to Jackson.... yet there may be Kings, only one legend can remain, and that is Frank Sinatra.

  • Yeah MJ... Gee what a great actor...

  • theirs no need for comments like that seriously

  • Frank Sinatra Was the GREATEST in HIS time MJ wad the Greatest in OUR time.... All Entertainers get there Dues

  • bullshit,MJ IS THE GREATEST PERFORMER ENTERTAINER THAT EVER LIVED! NO ONE IS ANY WHERE NEAR HIM EVER! HE WAS A COMPLETE ENTERTAINER SING/AN DANCE AN DONT DARE TRY AN COMPARE SAMMY DAVIS TO MJ OR NO DAM RAT PACK!SAMMY DAVIS WASNT GOOD AT ALL DUDE! FRANK SINATRA,I DO SAMPLE HIS MUSIC WITH HIPHOP,HE IS A GREAT FUCKIN SINGER THOUGH,GOTTA GIVE HIM PROPS ON THAT AN HE IS BETTER THAN ELVIS

  • why choose?

  • i diden't know he lives so long time!!

  • rest in peace frankie

  • best performer ever

i cryed when he died i was in hospital in belgium when i heard the news about hes death

  • this just in I took a shit-

  • RIP Frank Sinatra

  • R.i.p. Ol' Blue Eyes...

  • Elvis wasn't a racist AT ALL....some people just love "stirring the pot" to get people going!

  • Rest In Peace Frank! We still miss you even 11 years later... You are truly missed

  • I agree. He was (and always will be) one of my most favorite entertainers, and thanks to his popularity, unique unforgettable voice, and legacy, his works will go on forever. I was a senior in high school (several weeks away from graduating) when I learned of his passing. Very sad, but he's in a better place, and entertaining everyone up there. :)

    -Matt

  • How ignorant, at least have some sense or reason behind what you say kid

  • These days are just sad, everything has to be about racism.

Elvis nor Sinatra were Racist. They are just from an age where people werent so damn sensitive

They say we've come a ways, & in some ways we have.

But in other ways, people have never been more ignorant

Its like w/ Don Rickles. One of the most kindest people you could ever meet. He lived to make people laugh and loved all

Not a hateful bone in his body

And its too disrespect to bring that up and yell racism on this video

    RIP Frank

  • Firstable, that has nothing to do with this video. Second of all, your the one whos racist because Elvis was just like Frank. So Stfu

  • Elvis wasn't racist....

  • he was? how so?

  • this gave me the chills. whata guy. :'(

  • 1998 was a real crappy year Linda Mcartney,Frank "The Voice" Sinatra and my dear sister at 39 all left this Earth.

  • After Frank's death, music changed forever.

  • i didn't like him as a person very much because he was such a womanizer, but boy, his music is the best.

  • You probaly didnt know know much about the man i'm guessing...

He's one of the greatest entertainers ever, even your current stars give him his due respect....

    Diddy, Robin Thicke, John Legend.

Even rappers like Nas & Jay-Z sample his music.

Not just his music, they're will never be another Rat-pack or anyone that can bring that magic to the stage...

Go back and watch clips of shows at the Sands.

The music was good, but to me the best parts where the comedy improve.

  • i knew plenty about him, he's still not a person i'd like to be around. dean martin on the other hand is a lot more relaxed and funny, not such a fireball

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you Frank for all the marvellous songs you left us,you were a REAL man !

  • The Greatest Entertainment's Man of 20th Century...

    Sleep warm Ol' Blue Eye

  • Elvis was great but Sinatra was a number 1 in the music and in the movies.

Elvis did movies but didn't win an oscar.

    Anyway 2 greats...

  • i remember this night because it was the last episode of seinfeld

  • FUCK YE ALL that think sinatra wasnt one of the greatest of all times!

how can you wish for someone to die or be assassinated!

    RIP Frank sinatra, the greatest!

"The Best Is Yet to Come" - Words on his tombstone

  • That my my grandma and grandpas favorite

  • My dad is a big fan of his.

  • How can some of you say that you were glad to see Sinatra pass?

    You heartless bastards.

  • Frank was a LEGEND. Gone but not fogotten.

  • Sinatra gave such a great contribution to the world of music. His class and style was very admirable and his sound is so timeless. Thank you Mr.Sinatra for your many years of sharing your music and talent.

  • fuck you

not only because im a HUGE sinatra fan

but how do u say that about anyone....

how do you say that about a human being

he may not have been a president or a beatle

but he was excellent and a great man

when u die...i hope someone out there makes a horrible comment because thats a terrible thing for someone to say about anyone....u should be ashamed

  • Hope you burn you bastard, at least Sinatra was better then Lennon

  • Sure, I suppose your into Bing Crosby too? LOL. Wouldn't be surprised!

  • i was so sad when sinatra died ,felt like i had lost some one close to me ,he had been a big part of my life , r i p frank

  • We'll miss you man.

  • A lengend in his own right.

  • Well "guys and..dolls"..Everybody dies..I wish i could escape somehow from death and take some time more to live..just a decade more..anyways..FAS still remains in the business because his art sounded, looked and felt as one of the main representatives of all human expressions of life in a mankind's world. He was sharp in singing..he didn't offcourse had managers to improve his image, simply because he created the mentality of having a strong image.

  • i was about 10 when he died and i remember it being all over the news it was like when princess diana died,

  • I just don't remember much about Frank's passing, other than my ex signing the online condolence book. I was having health problems at the time, and 1998 is a blur. I feel bad about that. But I believe the best way to honor him is through his music, which is all I want to listen to these days. I hear one song, and thing it's the greatest thing ever, then I find another one I like better!

  • wow i didn't know he died recently i thought it was along time ago since he passed

  • Yes, he did have trouble with the annullment. In "the old days," Nancy, Sr. had to sign papers, and consistently refused to do so, but with the "new, improved Catholic church," yes, he bought his way into it - without Nancy's signature on anything. He hurt alot more people than DiMaggio, but I think he helped thousands more than he hurt. At any rate, I remember the ridiculous annullment, and consider it a prime example of a good reason to get out of Roman Catholicism.

  • He made us Italian-Americans proud!

  • I'm an Irish-American, and he made ME proud. He's up there with Dean and Sammy...trying to get the Angel's to pour the Communion wine a bit on the heavy side.

  • lol

  • I'm an Italian-American, he makes me proud cous' he one of the frist Italian-American crooners

  • Sinatra wa a real American origianl.

If you listen to his genre he was easily well above the others such as Dean martin, Perry Como, Bing Crosby or Eddie Fisher ect.

I wouldn't call him the best male voclasit ever but easily he is one of the top 5 and

    # 1 in his genre.

To say that hank Williams SR was any less of a country singer, or Elvis Presley was any less of a Pop/Rock singer would be unfair.

  • R.I.P Frank

    Absolute Legand

  • My mother was a huge fan of his & listened to his albums all the time. My brothers & I grew up with his music & can remember all the songs. I can't hear a Sinatra song without thinking of being a kid & hearing my mother singing along. One of the greatest entertainers of the 20th century. RIP Francis Albert.

  • Rest in Peace Frank-thanks for everything

  • just watching this makes me cry cuz im such a nig hollywood fan for hte old stars. frank sinatra was my moms and grandmas favorite and his music is really hypnotic. RIP frank sinatra

  • I just came across this video and he truly was the greatest male singer EVER. We shared the same birthday (not year, but day) so every year I felt special that I was born the same date that Sinatra was. I felt honored and special. He was my father's favorite singer and mine also. I was reared on Sunday mnorning Sinatra!

  • yep ten years,i now know why God took my Nan died in 1997 it was she could get heaven ready for Ol' Blue Eyes, she loved him and her love for him as been passed down onto me he's a true darling and has a voice so smooth and gawjus. He sure Did It His Way. Love always xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Wow I knew he died like 10 years ago but watching that now it still seem wierd!?!

  • AOL. LOL.

  • could ring alive Ceaders Sinai Hospital

  • der beste

  • How can you not love frank!

  • It's been ten years already?

    Wow.

  • 3 years later. On May 21 2001, there was a biography of Sinatra. Famous people were interviwed Seth MacFarlane, Frankie Valli, Emmy Rossum,Howard McGillin and others. Special guest interviews Dizzy Gillespie in 1988. Of course Dizzy's biography was a night after sinatra's biography. I absolutely love this video

  • Can you put this vid up? Or give me a link to it? I'd love to see it.

  • The night Frank went to the Big Casino in the Sky, his kids could not be reached to notify them of his pending death. They were all glued to the tube watching the final episode of "Seinfeld" -- all their pagers and phones were turned off.

  • Really? Wow...

  • The reason why his kids could not be reached by phone was because that witch wife of his, Barbara Marx, had not wanted them called. She wanted to be alone with him when he died. The kids should have been there, but due to her selfishness, they weren't there. Barbara Marx tarnished Sinatra's relationship with his kids, as well as wanted his money. She was a GOLD DIGGER, and a master manipulator to him. He never should have married her. Miss Marx will pay the price eventually for her selfishness

  • God Bless Sinatra the greatest performer of all time! My idol!

  • you're right, my grandmother loves him! lol

  • It's amazing that Sinatra's music is STILL being listened to after all this time. But what is even MORE impressive is that record labels still produce CDs - "Nothing But The Best" came out this year. "Classical" music is technically any music that will remain popular forever; if Sinatra's music isn't classical, I honestly don't know what is!

  • R.I.P franky... u live in our heart 4 ever..!!!

  • we will always remember you frank.

  • I was 11 years old when he passed away and I didn't know him very well that time.

Nowadays, I deeply regret: I couldn't have seen Frank Sinatra singing. If he were alive today, I'd pay hundreds of dollars to have that opportunity. He'll be the greatest forever.

  • I'm such a big Frankfan! He will be missed... He was great!

  • Beautiful memorial of frank. I take my top hat of to the man.

    Long live frank !!!

  • hard to beleave that 10 yrs have passed since he left us. he was simply the BEST.he will live forever as long as his music is here. rip,you were just simply the best ever...

  • i wonder what richard lewis thought

  • gone, but not forgotten

  • Your the greatest song

    ever imagine your the one

    true man frank

  • r.i.p. sinatra all ur fans love you

  • 5:00- Only Mr. Sinatra could be cool enough to just come into a room, sit down, start singing, and be completely unphased by the applause. Rest in Peace, sir. I hope you and the boys are having a ball in heaven.

  • Cemetery is spelled incorrectly

  • Say something bad and you'll get your legs broken.

  • R.I.P Frank Sinatra u will b missed but not 4gotten u had a great talent & u showed it 2 da world

  • wat??? & u kno diz how???

  • ...

    thats bs aeagle96

he was associated with the Mafia

and Oswald was known to hav killed JFK, alone

big deal he knew the mafia, that doesnt in any way mean he's to blame for JFK's tragedy

    that doesnt belong on youtube

go post ur comments on conspiracy theory websites

  • poor Nancy Sinatra

  • you.

    know.

    nothing.

  • And i soppose you no everythinh eh

  • † frank..

  • Legendary Frank SInatra...

  • I CRIED watching this!

    A little typo there...

Frankie was the greatest ever and will ever be!

  • Frankie, the greatest!

    I'm cried watching this.

  • I can't watch that without crying

  • Frank Sinatra was anything BUT a racist. He was very active in the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950's/60's and supported African-American civil rights all the way. Anyone who says that should absolutely read up on Sinatra and what a caring yet powerful man he really was.

  • OMGGGG, when that special news logo came up my heart dropped! I miss you frankie!

  • sinatra was the best! bar none, no comparison

  • "Anyone who says that Frank was a racist..."

That's a less than a joke mothaf* who'd say anything so idiotic, NYCBG -- pay it no mind. Some people JUST don't know how truly cool this man was as a human being, unquestionably.

That's why he became the ULTIMATE "HOLLYWOOD Godfather," to me; it's 'cause I've always understood he was the man to call when something -- anything -- needed to be straightened between parties.

  • I saw this one night. Because I had been listening to his music since I turned 3. I adored his voice when I first heard. My grandma and I listened to Sinatra all the time when I came home from school or Camp O Fun.

  • thanks for posting this, frank will never die as long as people listen to his music

  • When my older son turned 17 last year we bought him Frank's CD of "A Very Good Year". Frank was my father's favorite singer. We told my son it was a gift from his grandfather, who died in 2000. I'm watching this now with tears in my eyes.

  • Yes...He truely is timeless...

  • Sinatra will live forever!

  • sucks to get old

  • Anyone who says that Frank was a racist deserves to be banned from all websites for a year! Not only is it dumb it is insulting. He is the one white singer who did more for jazz than legions before and after him...

  • Frank Sinatra goes down in history as the best there ever was in the music industry!

  • what the fuck?? would they be best friends with Sammy Davis Jr if he was a racist???

  • You know even Don Rickles Admitted that? did you knw that? you Idiot?

  • yeah, yeah, keep goin'! you're an idiot.. Don Rickles never said that seriously. He must have been joking as always!

  • a racist???? don't be fucking ridiculous...he paved the way for black singers to perform in vegas..infact he refused to play unless sammy, lena , ella etc could play there..end of!!!

  • Frank would chuckle at the irony ABC breaking in to Richard Lewis talking about told men getting it up. Viagra had just become a phenomenon in May 1998 when FS died.

  • i remember being so sad that i'd never get to hear that gorgeous voice in concert. he is the greatest singer there ever was and ever will be.

  • Yeah I still feel horrible about it.. I mean it didn't really hit me till recently.. I read his bio on Wikipedia and I cried my eyes out at the end of it.. So sad... Love you Frankie! His last words are said to be "I'm losing.." :'(

  • 10 years, it's hard to believe.

  • A racist?! God knows that he went to bat for lots of black artists in Las Vegas so that they can stay at the places they had their gigs at! You should get your facts straight buddy!!

  • Proof: "On January 27, 1961, Sinatra played a benefit show at Carnegie Hall for Martin Luther King, Jr. and would go on to play a major role in the desegregation of Nevada hotels and casinos in the 1960s. Sinatra led his fellow members of the Rat Pack and label-mates on Reprise in refusing to patronize hotels and casinos that wouldn't allow black singers to play live or wouldn't allow black patrons. Sinatra would often speak from the stage on desegregation."

  • Hopefully, you had time to read up on Sinatra and discover that he was not a racistist or anything of the sort. I am black and have wondered about certain white entertainers of that era, but Sinatra is one that was not a racist. He was a member of the NAACP and according to his daughter, Tina, Sammy Davis was his closest friend, not Dean Martin as everyone seem to guess. I would give you one credit; he did have ties to the Mob, but not in the way Sinatra-haters would assume.

  • Thank you very much i have no reason to not believe you

  • Miss you Frank, and all the great ones we are losing!

  • The GREATEST EVER!!!

  • Sinatra WILL NEVER DIE!!!!!!!

  • And on this day, Frank celebrates his birthday in Heaven.

Rest In Peace, Francis Albert Sinatra.

  • Sinatra 80th...a must have for all new Sinatra fans as myself

  • I love you Frank ! rest in peace........

  • we are not always lucky enough,to live in the same time as a great singing or film star,mr sinatras music gave me so much plesure, and happiness,he had a song for every mood, his music was truly magical, thank you for leaveing the world, such a lovely gift, your music.

  • How do you know? that's between Frank and God! It's not your right to judge people's spirituality based on their life. Frank was a great man, and Jesus knew that. Yes he made bad decisions, but we all do every single day of our lives! Who knows, maybe he died without Jesus, or maybe he died WITH Jesus, thats not your call

  • That is not your call to make! That's between Jesus and Frank. You can't judge other's spirituality based on what you see, if that was the case, we'd all go to hell. You cant say Frank's in hell. Jesus knows that Frank was a great man, who sinned, just like you and me, he doesnt shun anyone out, thats why he died for us. Who knows, maybe Frank died without Jesus, or maybe he died WITH Jesus, thats just not your call to make

  • Matt Monro get a life. comparing monro to sinatra is like comparing rolf harris to van gogh

  • Infortunatelly Frank Sinatra died. And now the world lost the music.
