  • well this is funny why do most bands in the world speak English i was trying to find some diversity for my ipod im amarican and all i hear is english songs. even the hardstyle i liten to is all english and thats not even from a english speaking country

  • this is really sweet the way you sing it - really

  • I enjoyed the bit when you started feelin the music! ;P hehe <3

  • skype??? what the fuck is it???

  • I agree of many of you who mentionned Kaizers Orchestra. They are simply brilliant and they sing in Norwegian.

  • @getanerection musically interesting but still, The vocal is from a place called "Jæren" and there they talk "Jærsk" which is one of the oldest dialect in Norway, and is much like what the farmers in the 1500 talked...

so maybe its not the best for Norwegian learning beginners...

  • PUBERIS, YOU ALSO (QUITE INANELY) WROTE:

"You're from the English-speaking US and your name is Volksverhetz! Are you so dense you can't even recognize that inconsistency!?"

YOUR INABILITY TO ANALOGIZE LOGICALLY IS STUNNING. THE FACT THAT I AM AN AMERICAN, YET I HAVE A GERMAN SCREEN NAME, IS IN NO WAY "INCONSISTENT" WITH ANYTHING.

I AM NOT PURPORTING TO DISPLAY ANY VIDEO THAT IS QUINTESSENTIALLY "AMERICAN," WHEREAS "Crienexzy" IS PURPORTING TO DISPLAY A VIDEO THAT IS TYPICALLY "NORWEGIAN."

  • @Volksverhetz lol well im American for real

  • PUBERIS, YOU IGNORANT SLUT! MY REMARKING THAT OBVIOUSLY NON-WHITE BAND MEMBERS DO NOT LOOK NORWEGIAN NEEDS NO EXPLANATION. NORDICS ARE NOT BROWN...AND THE TRADITIONAL DEFINITION OF NORWEGIAN MEANS OF THE NORWEGIAN BRANCH OF NORDICS.

FURTHERMORE, I NEVER SAID IT WAS "FORBIDDEN" FOR NORWEGIANS TO SING IN ENGLISH. I MERELY OBSERVED THAT A VIDEO PURPORTING TO DISPLAY TRADITIONAL NORWEGIAN MUSIC SHOULD DO SO, WHICH OBVIOUSLY HAS TO EXCLUDE ANYTHING NON-NORWEGIAN.

  • apropos , I've never told you , but I am keen on you. I just want you to know it , nothing more :)

  • hello. I have to say that this Donkeyboy group is not the kind of band or music I like the most, nonetheless , I like so much the Norwegian Gothic Metal. If you like pop music , I suggest you to hear Bertine Zetlitz , she's da best :) , greeting from Egypt.

  • skype me: raminrayn

  • oo you're teaching norwegian on youtube? I LOVE YOU!

  • DO THE NORWEGIANS HAVE NO GENUINE POP CULTURE OF THEIR VERY OWN THAT IS NOT BEGGED, BORROWED, OR COPIED FROM SOME OTHER RACE OR NATION?

  • @Volksverhetz The band doesn't look Norwegian? What the hell does that mean? Nature never follows your depraved notions on what everybody's suppose to look like there Goebbels. And since when is it forbidden to sing in another language? You're from the English-speaking US and your name is Volksverhetz! Are you so dense you can't even recognize that inconsistency!? Why don't you damned fools go off and create your own inbred master race in a jungle somewhere and leave the civilized world alone?

  • CRIENEXZY, you claim in your video that the most popular "Norwegian" band is something called "Donkey Boy." WHAT A JOKE! FIRST, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING "NORWEGIAN" ABOUT THAT BAND. THE MUSIC IS IN ENGLISH, SOME OF THE BAND MEMBERS DO NOT EVEN LOOK NORWEGIAN, AND THE ENTIRE STYLE IS COPIED, COPIED, COPIED FROM THE ENGLISH-SPEAKING WORLD.

DO YOU NOT HAVE ANY BANDS IN NORWAY COMPOSED ENTIRELY OF NORWEGIANS WHO LOOK NORWEGIAN AND WHO SING IN THE NORWEGIAN LANGUAGE IN A REAL NORWEGIAN STYLE?

  • Crienexzy, YOU ASKED WHAT YOUR LISTENERS WANT. OKAY, I SHALL TELL YOU. WHAT I WANT FROM YOU MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE (AND I AM SURE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO FEELS THIS WAY), IS FOR YOU TO PERMANENTLY REMOVE THOSE PRIMITIVE, UGLY, THIRD-WORLD STUD PIERCINGS FROM YOUR FACE. STUD PIERCINGS ARE TYPICAL OF SAVAGE NEGRO TRIBES IN AFRICA. YOU WILL FIND THEM AMONGST TRIBES WHO STILL EAT OTHER HUMANS. I AM NOT JOKING!

A CIVILIZED NORWEGIAN WOMAN SHOULD NEVER MUTILATE HER FACE WITH PIERCINGS!

  • please propose some music with norwegian lyrics :D thanks, you have done very good job with your vids:)

  • @stefpatras Casio kids, Jokke og valentinerene , Gåte ( very norwegian)

  • @catomann tusen takk!

  • I need some one who help me whit the norwegian language and I can help whit the spanish.

If some one from Norway help , I will be happy.

    Congrat for the video.

    Tusen takk

    Maria Ibiza

  • This is a very good vid darlin im part norwegian n ive been curious for years to know n tryin understand what norwaegian music is all about since ive barely if hardly ever heard any of it at all. Hit me back ive got a couple questions for ya :) hope 2 ttys

  • is there Norwegian music in Norwegian? I was just wondering because I really love Norwegian. I'm trying to learn it. And out of all the norwegian- teaching videos on Youtube, yours are the best,

  • @twilight4yo There are some, but most Norwegian artists tend to sing in English. Especially the younger ones. I can give you some examples of Norwegian songs though.

    Rock:

Postgirobygget - "Idyll" and "En Solskinnsdag".

    Delillos - "Neste sommer"

CC Cowboys - "Kanskje Du Behøver Noen".

    Rap:

RSP - Nordaførr(he's rapping with a northern dialect)

Just pm me if you want more, and I'll hook you up.

  • @joakim2k10 thank you soo much!!!!

  • You are so pretty i can marry you even... :D

  • :O! Haha! Karin! The song has just been covered here in the UK by a singer from my city haha! :P

  • the only really original band ive heard from norway are kaizers orchestra. this is the most underrated band in the world, i promise you. thats not norways fault , it is a small country and has too much of an american influence mostly. i like their folky stuff, i heard someone called 'Camilla Granlien' and thought it was beautiful. the norwegian language is beautiful LOVE IT!!!!!! lol

  • I like the Kaizers Orchestra. They sing in Jærsk (a western dialect) but it's still good for learning the language.

  • @HojoOSanagi you are so right about the kaizers. that is an amazing band by any standards, and as i'm learning norwegian (like you?) i find them a real challenge but great for helping me learn norwegian. but the music is BRILLIANT!! downloaded the lot a few years back and haven't looked back. good call that man!

  • @gregboyds And you are.....? Oh that's right. We don't care.

  • Is it true, I read on wiki that this still may be true...but isn't metal...black metal Norway's biggest musical export? I mean because when I think of Norway I think, Classical and Black Metal. :)

  • Alexander Rybak and Opptur, yeah ;D

  • I love DonkeyBoy <3, My Norwegian friends got me onto them. Matt from Australia.

  • such a preety mouth to facefuck

  • @rocknrollwovlf how about you learn something about respect you sick fuck

  • @rocknrollwovlf Jackass.

  • @rocknrollwovlf Do Americans always think about sex when they see a pretty face?

  • @flyonthewall37 lol think that's called human nature, but karin is alot more than that as we all know. she's a good teacher and has a bit of a wicked sense of humour going on there hahaha

  • u like ur american music,i like my NORWEGIAN BLACK METAL, thats whats ''mainstream'' for me.that music is very huge out there,it has crept into far n distant places

  • I would do this. I will be leaving the US for Norway in a little over a week. Will be staying for 3 months. Both my eight year old and I watch your videos.

  • Thanks my favorite things about all languages is the music. Do you know any rock bands in Norway? Thanks

  • That tune has a kind of 1980's vibe to it. Interesting!

  • only recently come back to youtube and it is great to see that karin has made a whole load of new videos. karin is the best of all the norwegian teachers. tusen tusen takk karin for din fine videoer xxxx

  • I dont know if lesson by spyke would work, but I would gladly donate for you to be able to make more videos teaching us the norwegian language.

  • ...and Black Metal /m/

  • what about Black Metal?

  • Please Karin...give me an answer..its really important to me! Tusen takk

  • give us some sentences that we use everyday...

  • Hi karin...i sent you a message a few weeks ago about lessons in skype...if you dont have time...do you know anyone that can do that? takk.

  • Hey, I'm sorry, its been 4 weeks without my computer, thats the reason for all the non answering! and now i dont have any idea about anything ^^

Add Crien2k on skype, ok? :)

  • Hello, I'm a journalist, Brazil. I am studying the Norwegian language, a language is beautiful and the Norwegian people are very nice from what I've seen ... Thanks for the lessons I'm enjoying very much for being super cool and fun as well, with all due respect, attractive and friendly teacher. So congratulations and thanks. Good luck

  • DIMMU BORGIR is a good Norse band.ther are others, some great bands are found at the INFERNO TOUR that Oslo puts on.

  • @brucekirk89 windir?

  • Gåte :-) but they are taking a break or something?

  • Ugress is realy good norwegian music! Kjempe god idè med å ta litt betalt, man skal jo leve også! Syntes du gjør en utrolig bra jobb med videoene dine, bra at du får satt Norge på globusen!

  • how do i say " will you marry me" in norwegian? lol

  • @willyruffhands vil du gifte deg med meg (:

  • hahaha thanks...i was looking for a "yes" but that'll work ;)

  • @willyruffhands yes - ja

  • what do you think about Seigmen, Karin? :)

  • Hahaha - du er Donkeyboy fan du også :) - gledelig :D

  • Good idea Karin. Im ready for donation and willing of 1 on 1 teaching Norwegian lessons. Are you still preparing for it or we can start?

  • Oh my god people, she's not asking for you to pay for a 1 on 1 Norwegian talk session. She's merely saying that, like many things that are free and non-profit, she would like donations.

Just like Firefox and 4 million other not-for-profit organizations, she's not demanding money, just accepting it.

  • actually that skyping thing is a really good idea

  • Heehee.. Hellbillies - That would give the norwegian learners a challenge.. ;-)

  • Try Kaizers Orchestra. They even sing in Norwegian, great lyrics, but they're from a place near Stavanger so I guess it's rather hard to understand for foreigners. There's also a band called DumDumBoys who sing in a very understandable dialect, but I've never really been a huge fan. You should still check it out though, especially if you thought Donkeyboy was "gay" and want something more rough =)

  • More Norwegian bands/music...

    Kaizers Orchestra

    Biosphere

    Hanne Hukkleberg

    Deaf center

    ultralyd

    Lindstrom....

God yul Karin and keep the vids coming ;)

  • Royksopp all the WAY!!! =D

  • Hey Karin, I already searched for that what you propose now. To pay for it is a bit hard for me, because I don't know what to expect of your lessons. Perhaps you could have a try-out 1on1 lesson for everyone who wants to learn Norwegian but doesn't know whether he or she is willing to pay for it or not. But it's very clever to ask money.

  • Yes this sounds good! Because its awful to pay for something you dont know if you will like! thank you :)

  • i like your music!

  • NORWEGIAN BLACK METAL FTW.

  • haha :P

  • Royksopp, Kings Of Convenience and 120 Days are more amazing Norwegian bands.

  • I think it's a great idea. If you are going to take time out of you LIFE to teach, you deserve more than a witty comment on Youtube for your efforts.

The problem is when you mention money people start freaking out and think you are asking them to give up their firstborn or something.

  • Haha, yes i know! Thats why i tried to make this as safe and "questiony" as possible ^^

  • Sure i could donate to help out:-) even though i wouldnt learn so much but for other people i can. :D

  • anal babes, turboneger, raga rockers, dumdum boys, ugress, burzum, mayhem, dimmu borgir, darkthrone.

  • 3/3: But taking money for teaching when you are not qualified is a lot... let's say... at least weird and not right.

As for me, I'd rather pay for some course, where the studying is more interactive then this suggestion via skype.

Well, my opinion. Throw stones if you will...

Merry X-mas and good luck in the new year!

  • @Pishtucha, criens value is in her beauty and kindness, the norwegian teaching effort is just a plus, an attractive teacher keeps u motivated. One of the things I hate are professional teachers who have a dumb personality. I wouldn't buy this thing either (coz I'm good at learning on my own) but it's a fair business for those interested.

  • Sorry, but this is the most stupid comment I have ever read!! Please, before you say something, try to read about it... this is my good advice for you!

  • @Pishtucha, neni o com, aj ty patris do bezcitneho stada profesionalov, vyhni sa uceniu prosim ;)

  • @kosapeti: Učení se vyhnu... to se neboj. Respektive nepůjdu do školství!

  • @kosapeti

    magyarra le tudnád fordítani? :)

legalább angolul írtátok volna / Please write in english or hungarian :D :D

    God jul, Karin!

  • @deryler , csak belerugtam a cseh csajba nem akarvan nyilvanossagra hozni a szlovak nyelv jobb :)

  • And how much do you think I will take to talk to someone over skype? You talk like this is gonna be my full time job ^^

  • 2/3: And I don't rather speak about the foreign one. If you want to teach someone, you have to know not only the vocabulary and grammar. There is more hidden stuff in pedagogy and didactic.

Again, I beg you, don't get angry with me...

I like, what you are doing. Those phrases, common verbs, pronounciation, simple past and perfect tenses, easy sunbstantives, adjectives, whatever. This is good work...

  • 1/3: Well, people, I don't like this idea with money as well. No offense, Karin, but being only a native speaker is not enough for teaching someone your language properly.

I am studying right now five years at an university and one day, I am going to be a teacher of my native and one foreign language as well. And I know exactly, what I am talking about! Sometines, I get pretty hard times to explain things only about my native language...

  • Dear Pishtucha. I've gotten A LOT of mails about ppl wanting this. They only want a norwegian person to talk to so they can practis what they have learn other places. So if you dont want to do that thats totally fine :P

  • Karin's English is more or less perfect! she doesn't have an english oxford accent, but who wants that? I'm half canadian and half finnish, and from what I hear, her English is perfect! She speaks better english than many of the people I know in canada where I've got family. And...secondly...intimidating someone cos of how they speak is just PATHETIC!

  • I would pay, but being in USA and our economy down, not sure I could afford Norwegian prices. But, if I can, I would do it.

Maybe you could hold 'classes' with Skype conference calling.

  • Yes that what i though i would do :D

  • Dear Karin, the uniqueness of your courses base on the fact that you can stimulate the learning will with a very special way. This is an innovation of yours, and beleive ot or not, you can earn something of it, you have to find the way how. You most certaintly deserve it. 1to1 skype conversations with donations seem fine, but i would not support the idea. You

  • do not know who is behind a skype nick name etc. Keep like you do now pls, by growing visitor numbers in a e.g. blogg you could enter some advertisements? There are ways..Everyone of us has to earn some money..All the best, ha a god jul!

  • i want to marry you!

  • Are you crying? :( I hope you not.

    Merry Christmas!

    God jul! (?)

  • donkeyboy reminds me of MGMT a little bit. they sound like 80's music. hehe :)

  • Dude your from the Netherlands, how the hell would you know how the right way to speak English is? Im from America and she speaks English fine. So stop being a douche and donate some money!

  • Comment removed

  • and for the "Umms and ehh's".. Mostly everyone does that when they are thinking of what there going to say. She speaks english brilliantly. So please, next time, before you judge, make sure you know them well enough!

  • Can i just say, the person you are offending is Karin, your completely wrong, and this is not something you should get pissed off by, because she is devoting her time to the people who really want to learn norwegian, your basically saying she is a money grabber, but that is far from the truth.

  • If she is willing to give up her time to teach, then people who want to learn should be willing to give a donation, its fair and makes sense. Its not like she is demanding it. Its for the viewers benefit, not hers.

  • @400thlou

Alright, I'll admit I was being a dick, I take back what I said and delete my negative comments.

  • @400thlou I've seen many tutors when I was looking up Norwegian so this is actually a good idea. Some of them set prices as high as $200.

  • @Vleertouwer Please, how low are you able to sink? JESUS, I bet you've got some serious problems at home and due to that, you HAVE to patronize people. If you're an american OR a cocked-up asshole from Britain, then I'm not fucking surprised that you were able to comment others English. You arrogant FUCK! Get bent. (:

  • @DisneyPrinessRemix

    Thanks for the horrible insults.

    Merry Christmas!

  • What do you say for breasts in Norwegian.

You should do a video about that.

  • Kaizers Orchestra er den beste norske bandet. :)

I wish they would come to England,

  • Oh hell yes, I agree... I want to see Kaizers Orchestra so bad..

  • why are every norwegian so good in english and all norwegian singers sing in english? ive always wondered that

  • You wont get far in the world on only norwegian... 5 mill ppl to listen to you is not enough ^^

  • @Crienexzy hvis du kan norsk så kan du da gjøre deg forstått på svensk og dansk da, og litt islandsk:P Men uansett så er ikke det et språk som er bra eller lurt å lære seg:P har du nettby:D?

  • I love your user name. I think you win.

  • @jelowatanuki ok..

  • We do not dub TV shows and we learn English in school from day one. Most advanced studies are in English and in most advanced jobs you need to be more or less bilingual. For the music - its more or less 50/50 Norwegian and English - but it may be what bands you hear :)

  • Wait... are you suggesting personal lessons for pay? If it's cheaper than rosetta stone, I'm in!

  • If I can afford it that is... money's a little tight right now.

  • Well, if lots of ppl think its a good idea, it wouldnt be expencive :)

  • @FlsBestDTF rosetta stone? norwegian edition? get off!

  • I just want to say I like all your videos. I like the norwegian culture/language videos. And I like your comedy/blog videos. I just don't like Taylor Swift. My voted would be, to keep doing what your doing.

  • I would not stop making videos! Those are my first priority! Its a suggestion for people who would like more, so they could "talk" norwegian to another person :)
