Another false confession obtained by police who just want to close a high profile case. Chuck's confession reminds me of Jessie Miskelley's confession that sent him and 2 other teenage boys to prison (West Memphis 3). All three were recently released after serving over 18 years in prison.
More than anything, Chuck is innocent too. As I posted before, it is BEYOND OBVIOUS that he was mentally disturbed and unreliable from the start. The police and Kevin Crane saw this in him and ran with it. Chuck was their perfect resource - and believable because he wasn't lying, he actually believed the bullshit being fed to him because he wasn't right in the head. Even if he really did do it, nothing out of his mouth is to be trusted. He needs to be discarded in the entire case, period.
this is just sad, taking an innocent man's life from him. Only in America.....I pray that Ryan is out of prison soon, no way in the world this kid is guilty
It's funny this was about the time in 2004 when the columbia police department had to fire and suspend, several officer's for drinking and smoking grass on the roof of the police station.
This case is proof that the goal of the police is to close a case and the goal of the prosecutor is to get a conviction. Actually *solving* the crime is apparently optional.
Has the blood evidence and hair sample been sent for DNA testing and run through the data bank? As for the janitor, eyewitness testimony is unreliable. He said at first he didn't get a good look - not even to describe them - and then under oath pointed out Ryan. Could he even describe the clothes they were wearing or anything about them. Pictures jogged his memory - I don't think so. They wanted to close the case so bad that they failed to thoroughly investigate.
When I saw this case on 48 Hours I was outraged that someone could go to prison without any physical evidence linking him to the crime, and based upon the dream someone else had!!! The judicial system in America is greatly flawed!!!
if what I watched about the trial is true, and it has been awhile, I don't think that Ferguson is guilty. Erickson has had problems in the past with the inability to play with a full deck. The jurors didn't have a clue about criminal investigation. They heard stuff from the DA that took em back tot he days of Festus and his mule. They totally overlookes fingerprints and dna.

well mr furguson, if they are suspects and the police knows who was last with kent.
then i gues THEY DID investigate them.
they were probably less interesting.
i think Chuck is guilty ,i dunno about Ryan anymore.
but he sure still should be a suspect, untill they know more.
i think they can let him go for now.

@ImmortalUniverse Yes, they investigated him so very thoroughly that they had him listed as a white male.
He's black.
So, they definitely did their homework on Mr. Michael Boyd. In essence, you guessed wrong.
