Of course they were! Having managed to remove the French and Canadians, what could stop their invasion? When Britain realised that the colonies were becoming restive, it sided with Canadians by answering their demands for Catholic faith restoration and their laws (Quebec Act 1774). This in turn pushed the colonists into open rebellion against Britain that led to the revolution. Eager to revenge the loss it suffered in 1763, France sided with the 13 colonies against England, helping them to win.
