I will never say one bad thing about Roy Williams..he is da man....He made KU what it is today...the highest winning % of any team in the 1990's/4 final 4s/numerous big8,big12 titles/best recruiter ever/...but saying that it sure felt good to get that monkey off our back and DESTROY one of the best teams in college basketball history..the 07-08 tarheels

UNC is way better than Duke and the rest of the ACC. KU is way better Mizzou and everybody in the Big 12. Exactly. We weren't nearly as talented as last year because the NBA took our entire starting lineup. The NBA wanted none of the obviously inferior 08' Tarheels, resulting in the entire team staying another year (Hansbro needs to quit acting like it was by choice) and winning a championship against easier competition. But a championship is a championship, so congrats. And props to UNC for winning it when the entire country expected them to- a lot of teams would fold under that pressure.

Watching this video reminded me of so many games I watched as a KU fan during the Roy Williams era. Year after year in the tourney Roy's KU teams would get punched in the mouth by some team, panic and fall way behind, then fight back just enough to get your hopes up, only to run out of gas in the end. @tehetahatoho ..also,while I believe Kansas was much better in the 2010 and 2011 seasons, I believe Duke will be better in 2012, especially with Kansas losing half of their roster after this past season (3 to the NBA, and a very talented additional 3 to graduation) and with Duke bringing in a nice freshman class to replace Nolan Smith and Singler. Ku does have 5 national titles. Three of them are NCAA titles. The other two were won before NCAA was created.

I wonder why no else is saying this? The only reason that UNC won the title in 2009 is that KU beat them so bad in 2008. If Kansas hadn't beaten them so bad Hansbrough and maybe even Lawson wouldn't have been back.

If you remember Roy had turned down the Tar Heel job when they offered it to him a couple years earlier, because he loved the KU job. If the Ku athletic director had not retired Roy probably would have never left KU.

Exactly. We weren't nearly as talented as last year because the NBA took our entire starting lineup. The NBA wanted none of the obviously inferior 08' Tarheels, resulting in the entire team staying another year (Hansbro needs to quit acting like it was by choice) and winning a championship against easier competition. But a championship is a championship, so congrats. And props to UNC for winning it when the entire country expected them to- a lot of teams would fold under that pressure.

Watching this video reminded me of so many games I watched as a KU fan during the Roy Williams era. Year after year in the tourney Roy's KU teams would get punched in the mouth by some team, panic and fall way behind, then fight back just enough to get your hopes up, only to run out of gas in the end. Get used to losses like this Heels fans with Roy as your coach.

its a new year. we at kansas wont be able to reapeat this year, as we have a bunch of new bies comming in. BUT, we get to get a good look at the kids that will kick ass in 2-3 years from now. its hard to repeat when all of your seniors are now in the nba. nc will be there to i know. but with roy you wont go for the speed, which is what killed you this year. its why we never won with roy at kansas you will get great playas, but no brass band at the ststion.
