As a former DM in middle and high school, I came up in the FAMU period. I still hold them in high regard as the grandfather of HBCU Marching Bands and their DMs. For me JSU is the Dean of the Marching Bands and the Fab4/5 have set a new standard for young DMs. I don't know Ms. Myles but have watched her several times in action. I hold her in the same esteem with FUFU. One of the great that was born a DM. I'm attended TSU and my heart is there, but JSU got my love.
Yo female Drum Major is Sick!!!! She is a beast.....I think this was a period of female DM's cause Clark Atlanta University had a couple around this time. They betta get it! And I can't forget about the fellas y'all were doing your thing too......

You don't see ANYTHING remotely close to this on the west coast with college bands. There are a few that think they are imitating, but they can't compare the energy or passion. I am a drum major for a west coast college band and we are more of a corps style. The only time we do any "dancing" is when we enter the stadium. It is cool to see how things are different in other regions of the nation. Keep on doing what you do best!
