  • I'm a huge supporter of shelter cat adoptions (in fact I did six of them on Thursday!), but I see nothing wrong with breeding rare, beautiful cats that will always have a home. Hell, even if they get out and make it with a traveling salesman, the kittens will be gorgeous. I have heard that Savannahs quickly get lonely. They need constant attention and exercise. A companion sounds like a great idea. Better have lots of time on your hands if you get one of these!

  • 'I got my paws in your face.'

  • I would buy an f1 for a house pet if these greedy breeders would lower their price. What a rip off. Go buy a serval, for $3,900 from John Babb ( ValleStable-Exotics) and get yourself a Bengal for $ 900.00 and make your own F1 Cat. these greedy breeders can kiss my ass!!

  • Great video!

  • subscribe to my channel and watch my kiteen playing with a little marble she found in my brothers bedroom soooo cute :)

  • As far as the pricing goes, I got this off of a very reputable breeders website. Males: F1 $7,500-$22,000 F2 $4,500-$16,000 F3 $3,000-$6,000 F4 $1,200-$3,000 F5 $950-$6,000 SBT $950-$6,000 Females: F1 $6000-$22,000 F2 $4,500-$14,000 F3 $3,500-$5,500 F4 $1,200-$4,500 F5 $950-$3,000 SBT $950-$3,000 The males F4 and earlier are sterile and can only be sold as pets. All of the females can reproduce though. The SBTs are the only ones recognized by the TICA.
  • SavannahsRUs:

OK, I'm asking for it. But as a cat lover, I doubt that a half-wild tomcat wouldn't spray every La-Z-Boy that he could sink his claws into.

I'm enchanted by Savannahs, according to these few videos that I've seen. If not for the issue of unwanted strays, I'd buy one tomorrow if I could afford to!

But to suggest that these creatures are more or less natrurally housebroken is to say that they are tamer than your average alleycat. C'mon!

  • Holy shit, those cost $5000?!

  • Damn, do you have to have special permits to own those? I'd be scared shitless to have those in my house, won't they fuck you up, lol? I heard one growling and it sounded pretty beastie! They look pretty big too, how much do they weigh? Anyways, they're badass though.

  • FACE KICK

  • Aaaw... They are so cute<3

  • Where / How can I get a recue F1 Kitten?

  • I don't think its possible, the people who own them pay a lot of money for them and breeders research who they go to. Not only that but the breeders I've talked to take their cats back in the event of a forced move/ illness etc, because they don't want their cats in shelters.

  • whats the difference between all the f's...f1 f2 f3.. and how much are they?

  • f1 = 50% serval (sometimes 75%)

    f2 = 25% serval (sometimes 37.5%)

    f3 = 12.5% serval

    f4 = 6.25% serval

it means how many generations removed from the serval line it is.

f1s can cost as much as $5000 but can be had as recue kittens with less than perfect coats for $300-500

    f2s are about $1500 - $2000, unless you find a rescue kitten

f3s and lower can be had for around $500 or less

Those were the prices when I was shopping for them about 2 years ago

  • ohh thanks for clearing that up; where did you go shopping for them at? and is it hard to take care of them?

  • you should find a breeder near you at least same state if possible...

As far as difficulty raising them...

f1 = LOTS of energy, very curious, loves to play. If they can get into something they will. only about 50% use litter box.

f2 = much more likely to use litter box, Its like owning a cat and a dog at the same time, twice the work of a normal cat

f3 and lower = coat of a serval but otherwise looks much like a tabby cat. likes water, and mischief. dog cat mix...

    hope that helps

  • thank youuu very muchh

  • Prices are up ;) . F1s are up to $7000 for a nice breeder female.

    F2s are $3000-$5000

    F3s are $1500-$3000

and then F4s start to go down from there. F4 males are pretty much the cheapest and one with a poor coat can be had for $500+.

If you find an F1 for $300-$500 give me a holler ;)

Btw, I have an F3 male

  • @gtq838 they r amazing how do i go about purchaseing one and how much

  • Wow, Beautiful Savannahs you have there XD

I'm planning on getting an F4 or F6 since I know I won't be able to raise an F1.....But maybe I will once I'm a bit older and stuff...

  • Being that they are both F1 males, do they spray around the house? I've been facinated with these cats for years and just wondered if they would stink up the house.

  • Nope. No spraying. One doesn't like to use his litter box all that much but that's pretty rare with F1s.

  • soooo beautiful! I love them!

  • obi kinda looks like my bengal lepard but shes tiny compaired to him and i also noticed that most of these videos with f1 savannahs that the cats have odd names lol

  • are f1 hard to take care of cause i might get a savanna cat in a couple month?

  • They're very active. That's about it. They tend to knock stuff over and break them. Anything like that I have in storage.

  • was there a baby present or was that noise toward the end coming from them! very cool

a real question though: what do the numbers following the "F" represent?

  • That was Sequoya. Both my Savannahs sound like human babies but Sequoya is mostly mute.

F1 stands for either foundation or familial.

It designates how many generations removed from the Serval the Savannah kitten/cat is.

F1 indicates that the Savannah has a Serval father.

F2 indicates that the Savannah has a Serval grandfather...and so on...

  • "F1 stands for either foundation or familial."

    Neither, F stands for *filial*.

  • how much are f2s f3s and so on i want one so bad

  • how much do these cats usually go for???

  • 5 grand up to ten thousand

  • Holy Shit! For a cat?

  • For the F1's, which are a direct cross, I would say so. The price goes down a bit with the generations from what I understand.

  • What do you think a cat costs a year? Any cat? (Vet, food, etc)?

Don't buy a cat a few years, and then, with the money you've saved up, you can buy a cat that costs a few grand.

  • these guys are soo cute! I like how the older cat is just trying to clean the little one and the little guy just wants to play haha

  • gorgeous

  • really cute :)

  • adorable.:)

    how did you get it.

    if it's a "exotic" animal.

    isn't it illegal? just wondering

    take it easy i'm 13

  • Pure exotic animals are legal to own as pets in many states. (generally a permit is required).

Savannah cats are a domestic breed of cat that is based on the crossing between the African Serval Cat and a domestic cat.

Under Federal law, offspring as the result of any exotic to domestic cat cross is considered to be domestic.

  • You've obviously never interacted with a Savannah.

  • Hybridization is a natural occurrence and tool of evolution.

  • You again HUH. Your right about one thing in your post below. Hybridization IS ethical. But your behaviour is very un-ethical. Hybrids have nothing to do with ego. Hybrids are very fun, interactive cats, that bring a lot of joy into homes. Why don't you pull your head out of your a** and get to know a couple hybrids. You might actually like them. Maybe our "ego's" and your bitterness are closer than you think. Go fly a kite.

  • Because it is freedom of choice. Hybrids are fun, interactive cats that give hours of joy and love. How could that not be ethical. The hybrids don't sleep 18 hours a day like a domestic cat does either. You haven't shown any reasons that hybridizing is un-ethical except you dont like it.

  • The Australian government seem to think its unethical, as well as the RSPCA. I happen to agree with them. I don't think I'm alone in my opinion!! Freedom of choice should not give people the freedom to do what ever the hell they want. I don't think the authors of the constitution quite had that in mind when they wrote it. Just like a christian twists the bible to justify their wants and views, you twist the constitution.

  • Your statement that the Australian government believes hybrid cats are unethical is incorrect. Savannahs were banned in Australia because of an unfounded, politically motivated, fear-based belief by some that they would breed with the feral cat population and produce a type of "super cat" that would devastate Australia's wildlife.

    Not because hybrids are unethical.

Bengals (a hybrid cat) are legal to own in Australia.

  • That is very true that bengals are legal to own in Australia. I am currently looking after a stray bengal, as I have mentioned. But much of the debate that has ensued in Australia is also ethically based. Furthermroe, I'm not necessarily a believe of the "super cat" theory.

  • The super cat fear is nuts. That was the prime motive behind banning Savannahs in all of the numerous articles I have read on the issue.

If ethics was part of the issue as you claim, why then were Bengals not banned also?

  • Can't answer that one on the bengals!! I don't know. Please don't think I don't like savannahs and bengals... I think they are adorable animals, just not entirely happy with the motives.

  • Your just an animal activist loser.

  • Idiot. LOLOLOLOL. Apparently, all the mirrors in your house are broke. Otherwise, you would know you ARE the biggest idiot of them all.

  • pssst...I think you have a point but remember the innate selfish nature of human beings. I would love to own a Savannah cat, but at the back of my mind I would feel like it's a very selfish thing with all the thousands of cats in animal shelters. Not to mentions Servils are nearly endangered. People don't think about things like that though

  • The only TRUE SOLUTIONS to homeless shelter pets is the FREE & AVAILABLE access to SPAY & NEUTER - ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT QUESTIONS OR PAPERWORK and the development of a one-dose sterilant that is safe and effective. BTW, there's a $10MIL prize offered.

  • If you don't want a hybrid cat, don't get one.

Who are you to judge the creation of a wonderful, new life. Something that's done for the pleasure of creating something beautiful.

At least stick to the science instead of all the logical fallacies, plays on emotions, and lies so typical of Animal Rights fanatics.

The animals only suffer AFTER PETA, HSUS & ALF Terrorists get ahold of them; UNTIL you end their suffering by killing them.

I love all animals and take excellent care of my pets.

  • Oh, and I have lived with a hybrid cat. And he was a lovely cat. No argument there. And I am currently looking after a stray hybrid. She has a microchip we could trace back to the breeder, but no forwarding address of the owner, so I do kinda know what I'm talking about. I could give you a list of my credentials if you really want.

  • I don't believe any list of credentials can negate the ignorance and judgmentalism you've displayed.

  • Rofl seems like obi got annoyed with his older brother towards right at the end.

  • look great.. but with cats i prefer personallity.. thats y i got a big black and white male.... anyway.. i know savannah's look great.. but they love much?

  • Beautiful cats! :)

  • there so pretty:D

  • They're gorgeous! I'm seriously fascinated by these cats. Are they on the expensive side I'm assuming? How about claws..because they're bigger, do they seem to do more damage to your house than a smaller cat? Or do you declaw them?

  • Price is dependent mostly on generation and sex. Females cost more because the first 4 generations of males are sterile. (but they're bigger). Neither of my F1s do any damage to furniture (but they knock stuff over and break them). I've had to put away most of my knick knacks. They also like to shred paper. (toilet paper, boxes, you name it) I do not believe in declawing because it is an amputation to the first joint. That's mutilation as far as I'm concerned. I clip their nails.

  • glad u dont declaw!!! cats are made with claws for a reason

  • wtf that would be crule to declaw a savanna cat.

  • @coreyworthington99 if some one declaws a savannah they should meet there maker

  • I love your cats, I wish I could have more than the two I have. I am facinated by cats. I need to be reincarnated so I could start my life over and have cats earlier. They are great. Yours are beautiful. How big do they get?

  • Thanks for the comments. Obi is around 11 lbs which is smallish for an F1 & Sequoya is already around 12 lbs @ 6 months. He'll probably end up around 18 - 20 lbs.

    Obi is more athletic though.

  • i gotta say, savannahs r the most beautiful exotic cats there is besides egyptian maus and bengals

  • Obi's mom is half EM, half Bengal.

    :)

  • Your kitties are beautiful :)

  • They're so pretty! They look like little cheetahs. ^.^

  • No coincidence. Their fathers are African Servals which is a cousin of the Cheetah.

  • They are beautiful!

I'd buy one but I have birds lol.

  • That's a healthy refrain.

Anything that tastes remotely like chicken is fair game to these guys.

    :)

  • Yeah, I think a munchkin might be better.

This way it can't reach the cages hahahaha.

  • Unos gatos preciosos me ha encantado.Amo a los gatos me encanta su mundo y observarlos, es apasionante.

  • :)

    :)
