  • At first i was thinking, why is that all these pretty little ladies have lily-white skin? (2. ex. Black jack davey/If i were a blackbird) then i realize, oh yeah...England, Scotland, and Ireland....duh. they see the sun there, what 3 times total a year? So...yeah >o> I wish i was lily-white. >_> To bad i'm so mixed with native american and i'm out in the sun way more than i care to be out in.

  • I like this song.....my ex Girl friend hates it.

  • sad and beautiful

  • i thought this was an irish balled ?

  • @whataboutsky yeah it is an irish ballad i think, the confusion is probably because silly wizard is a scottish band, but they were not the original singers.. it is indeed an irish ballad

  • @krs10ec thanks for clearin that up

  • i thought this was an irish balled ?

  • You couldn't play this on the radio these days, as "lily white breast" would be considered 'racist' - LOL.

  • @TheSmartOfWar actually Robert the Bruce did not die at Bannockburn. And he was also born in 1274. And yes Robert the Bruce was Braveheart.

  • Inaccuracys:

Braveheart was Robert The Bruce not Wallace

The film is set in Ireland therefore all the back ups/Extra were Irish

Written by English so it sucks

  • @TheSmartOfWar ... braveheart was not robert the bruce... thats just inaccurate. the movie was bollocks but im saying.

  • @keir193 Robert the Bruce was Braveheart look it up.

Bruce had his heart carried into battle followiung his death at bannuckborn

wallace was born 1272 and b.burn was around 1348 so unless wallace fought at the age of 76 then again im right so yeah im a Stewart so id know

  • @TheSmartOfWar Bannorkburn was 13 14 so get your facts right. They would have known each other,as Wallace lived in the Bruce Ayrshire lands.

  • @TheSmartOfWar It was a yank that wrote the movie not the English

  • Even if Braveheart wasn't entirely accurate it's still a great movie, so whats the big deal?

  • braveheart is my favorite movie well one my other is phantom of the opera

  • Change the poster.

If you believe Mel Gibson's version of "history", I've got some sub-prime debts I'd like to sell you.

  • @Krzyszczynski I believe about 90 per cent off it.The rest was poetic liecence,to put bums on seats at the cinema

  • This beautiful song brought tears to my eyes.

  • @notafifer Samething happened to me

  • @heehawluck1 Say what you wish of Gibson's nature, but this much is true; he butchered Scottish history in his gratingly incorect rendition of William Wallace's life.

@theceltichobbit Thanks for posting the song and the lyrics! I would, however, recommend that you change the bkgrnd pic. :)

  • @heehawluck i may not know the man but I do know that the Braveheart poster should not be anywhere near anything that is ACTUALLY scottish

  • I am looking for the song : »AA Cameron’s Strathsprey ... The new shillin’” from the album “so many partings”

  • Except Mel what's his name, the anti-semitic sob. Sure, he looked great in his earlier movies and he was good--but now he's a crazy m-f.

  • @snarlacarla You talk as if you know the man. More likely you, like countless others, get your knowledge from those ever so accurate and unbiased journalists who wouldn't know the truth if it smacked them full in the face. You should take your bellyaching and belicose nonsense to some other forum....and leave the rest of us to enjoy this music.

  • there's another version without the Braveheart poster

  • I sang this in choir so many years ago, this destroyer's the meaning, but at least it' high quality.

  • shame about the poster

  • I saw them in Edinburgh several times & met them in the Shelbourne lounge in York Place too, there was a wedding there

  • @MrTwelveinchdick Well actually Andy M. Stewart was the singer with Silly Wizzard, so I'm right. :)

  • @bobknightfolk Singer and song writer too :-)

  • Dnload the audio from this tune at tubepull doht cohm.
