ok so, i entered "admin" in the password and it loaded the page but nothing came up. the page was blank! i tried this on my ipod,computer and my moms computer and the same results came up. please help!

I just bought a router and was completely ignorant of how to set it up. Until, one day when I was browsing the other available wireless networks and noticed a hint show up on my network that said "unsecured". I'm glad that hint showed up because it got me thinking. I would of kept my network the way it was and who knows whether someone would of done some damage to my network. I don't use wireless anymore. I disabled it and my wireless card just to be safe. But, thank you Microsoft for that hint.

i know this sound wired. but i want to hack me through to 192.168.1.1 on my own router. told ya it would sound wired. why i would do that? my family lost the Manuel to set up the router so they wont let me reset it, and none of us can remember the log in. :( so if i can hack me in my family will be glad. o i could just not tell them i got trough. :) so any one have an idea, it's cinda critical for me

@jakilopes don't get frustrated you may have to reset your router - on the back there should be a button you can depress... give it about 10 minutes and try it again

I have been networking for 20 years, and have never witnessed such poor customer support/customer care. By the time I realized this camera didn't work and after several hours of poor customer support from Linksys Cisco, the warranty expired. Now Linksys wants me to pay to try to get this garbage working. Bottom-line: The camera went from the box to the trashcan. What is the problem with Linksys. Why not just replace the unit for me on the initial request?

DO NOT, buy linksys products...Especially the WVC54GCA. I had trouble for a year with Linksys not being able to setup this POS, and by the time I figured out the camera was simply garbage, the warranty expired. Now LINKSYS is telling me I have to pay for support , instead of letting me simply get a replacement. I tried to get a replacement in the beginning, but their tech support kept insisting I was at fault. ..Get a Belkin or NetGear, Their Customer Care is FAR Superior.

Eric, anyone with Yahoo toolbar is a nub on their OWN router pretending to be on someone ELSE'S router. If this was real you wouldn't be uploading a video of you trespassing on someone else's *virtual* property. It's as absurd as video taping yourself going into someone's home and telling us about the security faux pas of leaving one's doors unlocked. And if common sense fails you the Remote Management being Disabled gives you away.

@Gangstafresh101 maybe your router has another ip address set up, other than 192.168.1.1, do a reset of the router using the reset button on the back and this will revert all it's settings to factory default thus enabling you to access the router via 192.168.1.1, just keep in mind doing this will reset all of your previous settings, possibly disabling your internet access until you configure it again ;)

@Gangstafresh101 you have to check your ip address first before connecting to the set-up page of the router,,, verizons has the same range of ip address so that's why if you enter 192.168.1.1 it brought you to the verizon page. check your ip address first and get the default gateway and enter that on the address bar.. that's it! :)

@MrFuryGuy Hold the reset button for about 30 seconds. That's to reboot it. Connect it like everything or everyone says. Look it up on youtube if you don't know. After you connect it, type in 192.168.1.1 into the address bar. Then the admin window should pop up. Click ok or whatever. That'll bring up the Linksys window. After that, put in whatever info you need to (especially your ip address etc.) That should help you. Good luck!

Get a pen and push the reset button for 30 seconds on the back of the router, and it will reset it back to default.

Hold on to reset on the Router for 30sec and go to router's page again and the password would be defaulted to "admin"

192.168.1.1 isn't the ip address of the rouder. It's the router's Default Gateway. It's not always 192.168.1.1 . I learned absolutely nothing from this video. A complete waste of time. If people don't set a pass for their router, they're just asking people to get screwed with.

This is not a fault of the router, this is the fault of the owner of the router - They did not read the RTF sheet that comes with it which instructs how to change the password and setup wireless security. Most new routers come out of the box unsecured. A properly configured wireless device is relatively secure.

WTF? You have no idea what you are talking about, I had linksys router and I have to say that that was very good and secured router. You have access to someone network because people don't know how to setup router and thats all. You will never have access if I will set it. First of all - admin password, second - MAC filtering, third - DHCP set manualy, I will also lock managing from outside and set IP adresses for number of all my devices, no more then that. And of course Wi Fi password (WPA)

im not sure about yours, but the first time I enter the WEP key or passphrase the router remembers my ip address, so I dont have to enter it again. The only time I have to re-enter is when I change the key
