  • One of my my favorite RT songs.. great performance... makes my cheerful and sad...

  • Thank you never saw him do it live I only ever heard Sandy doing it lovely

  • Check Darby Gould singing this with Jefferson Starship TNG, always aware of the Fairports but her version of this and the quiet Joys of Brotherhood made me go and listen to the fairports golden Thompson/Denny period and it is magnificent, unhalfbricking and Liege and Leaf now in my top 10 albums !

  • simply wow

  • Great song, fabulous performance...horrible camerawork. Um, he's a master guitarist so...show us his playing too!

  • Ain't too many like this one folks.......enjoy!

  • simply wonerful

  • Who was filming this? "I'll just zoom on his face for the rest of the song, no need to see him actually playing the guitar"

  • This is such a meaningful song and it's awesome from Sandy Denny's voice!! But Ritchard always has his own unique style... beautiful..!!

  • Can someone please upload the original? By his band called Fairport Convention. Thanks for this one Joni!

  • @ronaldsneek It depends on what you call "original"; this IS of course a Richard Thompson's composition.

  • Beautiful performance, terrible camera shot, would of loved to see him playing the guitar as well. Such a great guitarist

  • Astounding

  • Does anyone know if he is the same Richard Thompson who was in the short lived groups Emil and the Detectives and the Germs back in the mid 60's with Hugh Cornwell who went on to form the Stranglers.

  • It is, If you go to his website on catchoftheday 31-01-2009 he has a story about Hughs Mum.

  • @WhatFuckingUsernameI Yes it is.

  • Beautiful version of his own song from 'Unhalfbricking'. I love him!
