I swear the OPP probably use these marked crown vics less than half of the time. They use mainly ghost crown vics like you see half out of view in this vid, ghost chargers, and tahoes. They usually have really faint reflective grey lettering on the sides/rear.
I think OPP are a combination of State Troopers and Sheriffs Departments in the U.S. in regards to what they enforce and where they police. Highway enforcement is huge in Ontario, very strict traffic laws. Dont speed if you come here.
@Gibson29 I can promise you that the marked cars make up over 75% of the fleet that are on the roads. The unmarked car in my vid isnt an OPP, its a retired car driven by a civilian. Within the last few years the use of unmarked cars has began to increase, but its no where near as much as the marked cars.
@zootoo63 Ya....I doubt that literally half of the cars are ghost cars, but where I live on Highway 17 I can comfortably say that about half of the cars I see catching speeders are ghost cars. 5 years ago one would have looked out of place but at least Im not imagining the increased use of unmarked.
@Gibson29 You son of a bitch i should of read this last week, im from buffalo ny and got a ticket in barre ontario now i gotta come back to your beautiful country lol. Guess ill just have to stop by the BEST HEAD SHOPS in the world while im there. ps. I drive a retired 1998 p71 still with cage and lights and the cop fucked with me the whole time.
While I was at the auto show in Detroit in January, while at Ford's new Taurus police interceptor, I was talking to an off-duty officer from Ohio and he said that on the Whelan LED bars, there is a night mode and a day mode switch. I did not know that and he didn't know where the switch was either.
yes, rotoray is right. the sun was in the view so the camera was trying to dim the sun but at the same time the lights were being dimmed so you can barely see them.
The new LED emergency lightbars look really good on the black n white cars, in fact, they're going so fast, the recording device you used to try and capture them on video couldn't keep up!
the person who posted those is one of my friends. he deleted his account for reasons i dont know. i think it could ahve been because of youtubes policies are retarded
I heard OPP will be replacing these with the new Ford Interceptor soon. Keep your eyes peeled!

@zootoo63 nope we actually are pulling back our marked cars and putting them up in the north as town cars and using more unmarked for HSP

@scaredzigger bahaha...sorry, quite humorous though. Usually the OPP are pretty professional to deal with, you get the occasional nosy prick though.

Are you down with O.P.P.? Sorry I couldn't resist.

yeah i don't like the look of these lights and they are too bright! encounter a few on the highway last night it's terrible.

@rko619wrestlingfan, that is the way the LED lightbars are.

They have better lightbars than in the past. Blue was only used for snowplow vehicles.
crlaw75 1 year ago
The take down lights smudge the the rest of the light bar. even at night. Our New PD car do the ame thing. though the blue cancels out the red

Ontario Provincial Police. (in the province of Canada) they mainly do highways and northern town

stephens2007 2 years ago
they provide municipal policing for pretty much every rural community in Ontario not just the North.
mcaddicts 2 years ago
not just rural. they do highways in teh south. there are many detachments in heavily populated areas such as naigara falls
