  • What a Balls rounding by the Port boat at the windward mark. It had to look even closer on deck.

    Great Video.

  • Good video to debrief with the crew on how to do it better next time.

The set, downwind strategy & gybes could all have been improved. I'm sure the crews of these boats has spent time reviewing to ensure the mistakes don't repeat themselves.

  • Cheers to whoever paid for that helo...

  • i agree on the "race losing' slow hoist there, damn sloppy or do sprit boats do slower hoists or what never sailed one. unless it can plane no use for a sprit tactically weak...

  • I raced on two Synergy 1000's, one with a bowsprit & asym, the other converted to symmetric with a pole. Hoist takes about the same time either way. Looks like they had some sort of hangup or something for such a slow hoist.

I prefer symmetric chutes. Cleaner gybes, and (for me) easier to sort out the lines as a bowman. Symmetric the lines (sheet & guy) make sense, asym they always seemed like an illogical tangle. But I grew up sailing in the old days with symmetric chutes.

  • somebody overstood the mark there !!!

  • Both boats did, and slow hoist... maybe it was a tactical move by the leeward boat?

  • Thats the idea. Take the overtaking boat to the outside.

  • What's up with the slow hoist?:)

  • Very kool!!

  • you'd think they could of found a better class to follow than the j boats... plus its making me dizzy
