Oh my god! I used to watch Ikku San in the 70s when Channel 47 NY had Japanese night. This song just makes me smile. It wasn't subbed so I had to guess what was going on!
OMG! ME TOO!!! I used to watch this show as a kid back in the 70's in (Rye) NY as well! Didn't know Japanese so I'd just make up the story as I watched. And like you, that theme song always made me smile!
