our daughter sang this before she could talk properly ...we were driving in the car, and realised she was singing along ...(in muffled tones) ....it was a proud moment!! haaha.
I've been a Stone Roses fan since Second Coming hit the store shelves. I regret I hadn't heard this til my 15 year old nephew brought it to my attention. The Stone Roses are finding younger fans. This is how bands live forever.
@eveson89 i totally understand what you mean, and i agree. however, i dont think its possible for this song to turn into a generic pop song. it simply is too EPIC. now, thats a word thrown around alot these days, but this song really capture the true meaning :)
@Gee630 no, although i this is one of best manchester songs ever...but they don't seriously compare to the smiths or joy division - who wrote dozens of genius songs, not just a couple, like the stone roses...i agree that this song (and its guitar codas) is as good as music in my lifetime gets...
this is real music people, it inspired sooo many brit pop bands and to this day, stone roses were and always will be the ORIGINATORS of REAL music. just wish ian and john hadn't fallen out or maybe, just maybe!!!!!
its good because this type of music hasnt become commercialised by cunts like simon cowl who brainwash the idiots of brittain into buying the fabricated shit that they create! stone roses, ian b will live forever the rest will be dead n gone. rock on roses!!!!!
@blah4blobs as an individual song - it's as good as anything in the 80s...compares with the smiths, fall, rem, prefab sprout etc...the stone roses weren't as consistent or productive. but this is a pop/rock of near perfect pitching and style.
First time I've ever heard this song.
Thank you, Kerri.
