  • I had heard this song a lot of times before (my french teacher loves--and I mean LOVES--Zazie. But I never realized what a powerful message this song contained. Beautiful and so true.

  • my dear earth,my dear humanity,my dear brothers and sisters, sorry for deceiving you

  • I notice that there are two cons who disliike this axcellent song and video could it be Bush and Blair . I think there could shortly be a third con !!! Ha.!!! SYLA!

  • Thanks , this reminds me i have to get on treadmill today... Thanks !

  • Love the video, images, etc...however, I take issue with the translation of the word "con." Which means someone who is stupid (a schmuck). Because of that one word, I can't use this in my classroom, and that is really a shame because the montage is great!

  • @baudourgirl " 'Con' means literally "cunt", but is used constantly and emphatically to indicate stupidity, thickness, somewhat as Americans use "asshole." taken from a book called "MERDE! The REAL French You Were Never Taught in School" by Genviève. The book is still available and recommended highly for all students and teachers of French. "Schmuck" is a Yiddish word, not recognized or used as widely as "asshole."

  • @VNRose3 For more about "Le Roi des Cons" search for a song by Georges Brassens titled simply "Le Roi.

  • that one dislike is named "ignorant"

  • i like @ 1:57.....

  • Ce magnifique! I had loved this song from when i first heard it. It has great lyrics (in french, which it sounds better) and great music.

And to the person who disliked it.... get a life

  • That on dislike is from someone that was to lazy to read the english subtitles

  • good video wring translations in some parts

  • J'aime ce chansom, Il est très émouvoir.

  • I love you Chloe!

  • With all due respect, i cant say i agree with you MrWingedDeath. Im not here to defend Americans, nor bash anyone else but when Obama and Bush have the same "caricature" as Alfred E Newman from Mad Magasine, I think that kinda says it all. Desole, but superpower or not, there is nothing complimentary in this video as far as I am concerned.....beautiful song at any rate, and I am a big Zazie fan.. thanks for taking the time to respond :)

  • no need to single out the american leaders as "cons"..tant fais pas...there are plenty of others outside of the US ....much worse in fact....

dommage... you ruined what otherwise would have been a thought provoking video

  • @nancymara If you look into it, it's not singling out the Americans, it's sorta complimenting them. Some might argue, that, due to their size and power, they are, as a major superpower, the 'representatives' of men, but yes, this is just one take on it, you may very well be correct! Take a look at the original video, yet again, another take, Zazie's own, on the idea.

  • i'm mexican how can iget the lyrics

  • Very well done ! Thanks !

  • This woman kicks butt!!! Thanks for posting with the dual language captions!!!!

  • I love it--don't understand most of it--still love it.

  • Obviously, that one dislike was from a person that had a bad day. This song is pure poetry and brilliance.

  • brilliant

  • what band is this?

  • so nice video for the song

  • Stunning C'est formidable !!! A remarkable video and song that rings a bell. Tony Blair always reminded me of the cartoon in Mad Magazine. Protest Songs have come along way since Bob Dylans 'Blowing in the Wind. Congratulations WNRose3 and Zazie.

  • c'est tres belle et magnifique

  • Really meaningful and beautiful, Vie le monde!

  • WOW! i love it!
