Roy was the MAN! to bad he retired to soon. i followed him since back in 1986, my sons godfather always reminds me that the last shot he faced in the NHL he let in. To have him leave after the f...n liberty play in the finals was a curse that might of followed him for the rest of his career. and to lose to that ragitann doll of a goalie haske. made the whole think a night mare. please wake up!
that a really really great vid and the first one too the only thing is that u put some picture/video that are already in the first one but anyway continue like that your video are really good i love them
i think that accomplishment wise Roy is the best there will ever be, but we have to realize the game is also changing and i think Brodeur may have an edge that no other goalie has right now and it is a little tougher because of te calibre the players are at in hs point in time...but i dont care Patrick Roy and Martin Brodeur are the greatest players to ever live and yes, of course they have to be Quebecers becase i mean cmon...luongo, brodeur, roy ..do i have to say morE?
all of the goalies from montreal rock...roy, brodeur, luongo, giguère... I wish montreal actualy had a local goaly instead of that loser frenchie christobal huet!
Patrick Roy is the best goaltender to ever skate the ice. Martin Brodeur is the best right now. Lundqvist is really solid. Luongo MAKES the Canucks. Everyone else on the team sucks including the Sedine sisters.
Patrick Roy is the best. I hope none of his records are ever broken. The only goalies even near his skill are the Sabres goalie from last season ( Forget his name ) and he doesn't come anywhere near Roy's skill. Brodeur has become older now and he's getting worse slowly. I've watched alot of his games and he's not doing near as good as he should. ( Eg Canada at the Olypmics )
Who's the only player in NHL history to win 3 Conn Smythes? Yup, Patrick Roy. How many did Brodeur win? None, because he had Niedermayer and Stevens to help out. Not to take away anything from Brodeur, who should break some of Roy's records, but there's no doubt in my mind that I would take Roy in his prime over Brodeur in his prime any day.
funny that you should say that... seeings how Brodeur won a gold medal for Canada and yet that was never accomplished by Roy... and yet brodeur is only one cup shy of Roy and he did it all with one team instead of jumping ship and publicly criticizing his team like Roy. Oh yea and Brodeur never got smoked 7-0 in a game seven, put that in ur pipe and smoke it.
So Brodeur has a Gold Medal. You could've chosen better arguments, kid. Listen, he never had a Blueberry and a Peanut as a coach and GM that drove him out of New Jersey. Where do you get off saying Patrick Roy publicly criticized the team? I'm SURE you can back that up with a couple of links, eh?
Anyways, why can't you concede to Roy that he won 3 Conn Smythe trophies? Jesus, not even GRETZKY was able to do that! Got a pipe???
I never argued his conn smythe wins did I? I'll read my comment again. Nope, but if ur gonna cry about Roy gettin respect, and say he had Stevens and Niedermayer to help him out, look at the help Roy got, Sakic, Forseberg, Blake, Bourque, he got tons of help too there, kid. Conn smythe dosn't define a player, like u said, gretzky didn't even win three. Hell I even kinda like Roy, if it wasn't for his statue of liberty play, Yzerman would've only had two cups in his hall of fame career.
Who is crying about Roy?? If anyone's crying here, it ain't me. You replied to my post, yes? What's your beef anyways?!?! That I mentionned that Brodeur never won a Conn Smythe?? That I would choose Roy in his prime over Brodeur in his prime? Seriously, what's your problem??????
"Funny that you say that" - what were you making reference to when you wrote that? Really now...
Me, I think Brodeur has had it a little easier with NJ (Neidermeyer, Stevens, Daneyko, Rafalski, etc) than Luongo in Florida. Let's see how Luongo can rebound from the shaky saeson he's having this year. (and I use the term "shaky" very loosely.)
Can we also say that Quebecers are the best producers of goaltenders in the world? ;)
At least we could say that Montreal (or more precisely St-Leonard) has produced two of he best goalies of the last 25 years! =P
@mkliemann show some respect im not gonna lie Martin is hella good but damn Roy cant be topped yea he had help and lost hs record of wins but jeez he is and always will be the greatest goalie
wicky0teriyaki, I mean this sincerely...these two highlight reels of Pat are the best I've ever seen...and I've seen alot! You need to put together a career retrospective on the man and sell it on DVD. You're that talented. I would love to see what you could do with some Montréal footage of Casseau (an old nickname of his for those of you who didn't know.) Thank you for the great work and please make more!!
Xoure so right. we should fire GM Lacroix for this stupid trade and because he thought that he may be a second Roy. NO One will ever be as great as him. No matter which records he will lose. they are just stats.
The world's best goalies come from Québec... And not just goalies, we also produce some great players too, anyone ever hear of Vincent Lecavalier? Maurice Richard? Ray Bourque? Mario Lemieux? and many more.. We could make an allstar team! LOL... Trading Patrick Roy was the biggest mistake le Tricolore ever made... It was a very sad day in MTL when that happened... Should have fired Tremblay before trading Roy... At least we got even with the Avalanche when we gave them Theodore! HAHAHA

Nobody is gonna beat his records.
