Always good to get big surf here...going back to 68 this day would not rate in the top 20. In the heyday of northeasters and CLEAN hurricane swells there were swells as big and bigger, but clean,fast,hollow and long. Too bad it was before the day of digital photography. .As for surfing big waves do not mistake East Coast size for Hawaii and West Coast. Pacific swells are thicker and faster But it is only water

The swell two weeks after Lilly was hitting the top of the duck Pier. that pier is 24 ft. off the water Also the Palm Sunday swell of 1976. I started in 1968 and still at it
