  • The Asians are killin' it these days. Bboyin' and Poppin'/Funk Dancin'.

I always used to wonder if bboyin' came from blacks watching kung fu movies.

Back when I was poppin, we used to wear karate suits and bow after a performance. I can see Skeeter Rabbit in all their moves.

btw, kite is the best, i prefered! haha

  • 5:45-5:46

i have never seen such a clean mind blowing pop

  • honnestly, these guys somehow managed to make me wish i was japanese

  • these guys are still old school poppers...awesome moves. I like some of the new school poppers too. :)

  • i want the name of the song 0:53...please help me...

  • it's a dope song

    what's it's name

  • who ride wit us (batsu remix) - kurupt

  • Mad respect to any funkstyle dance group, but if you ask me, I think the Electric Boogaloos are still the best funk group. These guys are good, but I say they could use a little more originality in their moves...but that's just me. Keep the funk alive!

  • I have to agree... I don't know when this was taped, but they pop like it's 1985.

  • Funk dance is not originate Japan, its California's culture. So we must learn another culture by careful study, studio's teacher and watch mirror. I understand why this cannot help originality, but can promote copying instead? But we have to learn base levels before higher levels. Step by step. This is Mr. Skeet's teaching. I think after the base of funk dance is properly established. Maybe there can be true originality coming out at the higher levels. It takes time :)

  • @haikousei Can you say art originates from which region?

    You can't say that..

    What looks good looks good..

    What is funky IS funky..

Doesn't have to be based from whoever found it..

  • @theysayimkennyful. yes art can be connected to regions because dance comes from culture, and culture has history, if you dont know that history, you have no foundation. you are shallow.. i have talked to west coast and east coast inventors of these dances, they have been doing this dances for 40 years, how old are you? they are true experts. true lovers of funk dont ignore the foundation of funk. dont disrespect the FUNK

  • @haikousei Ok whatever..

I'm just asking do you copy people's work?

You may use it but it does not have to be the same exact thing, and abstract things such as music you cannot say OH YOU DON'T DO IT LIKE THEY DID and say its not good.. =P

I know you have to know the history in order to have the foundation and stuff because thats what started all these things, but it doesn't mean you have to copy off that all the time.. ==

Don't you get bored by repetition?

  • @theysayimkennyful. Well, Im just saying. Do you acknowledge your influence? Or do you think you can invent an original move by yourself without foundations. Are you OG level?? =P ... You must start from copying basics, after years practice, after you have strong foundation, then you can start to your own version, but only AFTER you master the foundation.. I think you just want to skip the foundation and imagine you can invent? xD ..Well it doesnt work. ask any True OG about that.

  • No disrespect or offense, but is the third guy black?

  • nah man there all japanese :)

  • and from Osaka ;)

  • u r rite!

  • dude wit tha top hat is incredible .

    deff the best 1 .

  • LOL nah man there all japanese :)

  • sorry wrong reply

  • For good reason lol

That's Acky, he's one of the "OGs" of Japanese popping & learned from Skeeter Rabbit.

  • Acky is maybe 3 generation he is not so old. The 1st generation OG are like Wild Cherry, and Tetsu-G is the 2nd Generation. Mr. Skeet and Mr. Pete taught all of them.

  • o_O

    Are you serious?

I know Wild Cherry is really old, but I didn't know Acky was so young compared to him. Do you live in Japan?

  • thats acky, and yeah, he's dope

this is the best i have seen of him

(especially the second time he went up)

  • can someone tell me the name of the first song..thanks

  • can some one tell me what are the titles of the 2 songs so I can download them please

    thanks in advance !

  • can you tell me where i can find or download this song RIDE WITH US with DJ Batsu remix? thanks

  • tetsu-g-san is a very nice guy :) he invited me to their show for free. this was when skeet was still alive, i miss that guy :(

  • cak

  • mike song can do it better

  • hahahahah are you kidding me dude you don't know anything about popping!!! mike song is a good hip hop dancer but at popping HELL NO he would get raped by these guys

  • 哈哈

  • beautiful

  • Does anyone know the name of the song at the very start of this vid before the dancing starts.

  • not bad but you must see realy good poppin and this is not exelent ....take a look bruce ykanji or walid...this guy are nice dancers!!

  • Bruce and Walid are dope but they also respect fab5 boogaloos alot... so what right do u have to say that these guys are not excellent...

and btw, this footage was taken 4 years ago... u should how much more amazing they are now.

  • yea they have also battled some of the fab5 boog members

  • i dunno, i think they are fuckin outstanding in the footage right here

  • awesome shit man

  • excellent!!!!

  • If anyone has the DJ Batsu mix of Ride With Us can you please PM me? I can trade sum funk!

  • vive le japon

  • lol your so stupid do everyone a favor and stay away from the popping scene

  • popping is worldwide and understood worldwide, as someone once said "respect doesn't discriminate", if you are dope, then your dope, thats it. poppers in japan get their recognition from the world because they are fucking dope. and it certainly has nothing to do with them being not "creative" i see some of the most unique bboying in japan, some if it even looks wierd to me, thats cuz they are doing THEM and what they feel like doing. and thats where they get the respect on a international lvl.

  • all Japs

  • these dudes are Japanese? cause...ermm since the video quality isnt that great....it seems like their african american...i dunno man...their dress code...their dance style...the music....it certainly looks like it...maybe its a compliment for them...

  • haha you wicked man if u dont have nuthin nice to say then dont say nuthing at all. street dance is spred all across the world but u dont know shit about it cuz uve sterotyde black ppl as dancers right? wut a foccin retard u are

  • anyone has the first song? nott the orignal one but this remix.

  • Salah actually went against Acky in a popping competition and he lost. I never really saw Salah doing that good in a dance battle. I mean in major/big tournaments. Also, if he lost to Acky, there's no way he can win against Gucchon because he's the number one battle popper in Japan. He's not much of an entertainer or a performer like Salah but better at dance battles.

  • I live actually in Japan and went to see a huge tournament. The best Japanese poppers coming from Kyushu, Kanto, Kansai (including Acky).

One foreigner was invited : Salah. He just destroyed their ass. He won 5000$...

I'm popping in a Japanese crew, and even them recognize that they don't have the required international level to compete with american or french poppers.

  • Weird.

The video I saw on youtube was where Salah and Acky battle against each other in America and Salah lost pretty quickly. Oh you mean like not a popping battle but a competition for the routine? Yeah then I think he did. But Salah never wins in competitions. Oh, and is there anyway that I can find that footage on here or anywhere else? Are you popping in a professional crew? I doubt you are if you're either one of those guys in any of the video.

  • No of course I'm bad as shit ! I'm a super-noob !

I'm popping in Keio University's "Jade crew". And sorry but the contest I went to I don't remember any name lol a Japanese friend called me just the day before and didn't tell me it was a professional tournament so I don't remember anything.

It was really nice ! But trully I don't think Japanese poppers can compete internationally. They love dance, but they don't express themselves, that's a cultural issue...

  • They have entered international tournaments. Some of them are ranked #1 in the world in break dancing.

Well now that I know about your so called "crew", I know that what you just said is just ridiculous. How could a group that a "super-noob" is in be able to have any required international level? Your surrounded by too many noobs. You need to get out more and look around. I don't know about popping but take a look at lockers like Hilty & Bosch. They're one of the top world ranked dancers.

  • Well, the argument of "you're a noob blablabla" is a quite powerful argument, thank you. And, how can you say that the poppers in my crew are noobs, how can you jump to such a conclusion ?Don't get the point

At least, I live in Japan. Japan is a country of "surface". They have the structures, the love for dance but when you try to go deeper, there is nothing. And this is because they have some cultural differences that YOU will never understand because the only way you now Japan is Youtube.

  • living in japan has nothing to do with how much u understand or know popping, HIPHOP is worldwide, you dont have to live in a certain area to appreciate or understand it any better than any other country. love for the dance is all you need in this culture. you talk about japan not being able to compete on an international level.. well its happening right under your nose, PEOPLE even pay these guys to fly to U.S to judge events and to perform and to have workshops.

  • Wiggles say japanese dancers are the best in the world. Dont know if that says enough. lol

  • yea i saw that interview to and i agree with him

  • and (sry, character limit)

And the crew I am talking you about is a university circle, a concept that again, you might not now because you don't live here. It was created 30 years ago and is a top ranked university crew in Kanto.

The one who needs to broden his mind is certainly not me...

  • Well, you admitted that you're a noob in the first place so I basically said how could a group that lets a noob in be any good in the first place? Anybody can make a conclusion like that. So that means that there's no way that the group your talking about can have any international ranking good enough to compete in the world. Sure the majority of the Japanese dancers are not that good, but that statement of your generalizing the entire Japanese dancers are very ignorant.

  • You basically just said that the world guinness record holder for head spin in break dancing only knows dance by the surface. I don't know about popping but don't you dare generalize the entire dancers. "The one who needs to broden his mind is certainly not me..."? You gotta be kidding me with that one. I have a playlist on my profile titled dance. Tell me if those dancers only knows dancing by the surface and it'll really explain whether you're just some noob acting like you know stuff or not.

  • I don't think Japanese dancers bring any creativity when they freestyle, simply because in their culture people are brought-up thinking they shouldn't create anything, they shouldn't be different from the group. That's very theoretical but try to live here and you'll feel it in the everyday life.

Oh, btw, of course I am not talking about breakdance.

  • You criticized Japan for the dance so that would include all kinds of dance. All the dancers you saw has sometimes appeared as a main guest performer in some of the biggest international competitions. Some entered the main competitions and won. You seriously should not try and talk anymore like you know something. Dancers like Tozawa and U-min are sometimes considered free style but their dance style is called animation dance and I believe they're much better than average international dancers.

  • nigo. bape. hip hop. creativity. not dance admittedly, but the argument that ppl in japan can't create is weak. not to mention all the games with great stories that come out there. as well as animation, manga, and all dat.

  • what are you retarded the japanese are in the top in dancing mr wiggles even says it and that guy IS O.G

  • Japanese people are very creative. Look at their hairstyles, their fashion. Its soo innovative and different that PopStar Gwen Stafani copied All of it.

  • I'm sorry but Japanese dancers have been competing internationally, Acky has beaten salah, iron mike, sally sly to name a few, guchon has beaten jsmooth, sally sly, popula, salah.. guchon and kei entered juste debout and made it to the finals in 07, and they are entering again for popping this year for KITE and TETSU G has some of the sickest footwork. even the U.S OG's give major props and recognition to japan. GUCHON recently won 15,000 dollars for winning the 4 DA NEXT LEVEL EVENT in KOREA.

  • amazing!!

  • this is a different version of Kurupts, anybody know this version

  • This is the Dj Batsu remix of ride with us.

  • Popping is the umbrella term for all this shit. Boogalooing is what fab5 are doing, not animation, not liquid, not tutting. (No offense boog) Acky and Guchon bust ass in battles...I know cause I've seen them beat salah and a bunch of others. But boogaloo wise, jinxing is nice. (But they're not japanese)

  • what

  • (westCoast DPG) Kurupt & Daz--WHo Wanna Ride With Us...they got a video too.

  • what song plays in the first coupl of minutes?

  • who say these are the best.. ok best in JAPAN but not ever..dont even try that

  • i take back what i sed im retarded

  • dang, what's up with all the hate??? the poster never said that this was the best performance in Japan, just the best crew. no doubt they're better than this!!! Guchon and Acky alone have been among the elite in the battling scene. watch more of their best battles and you'll see why kanelee says they're the best in Japan (especially when it's Guchon Vs. Acky).

  • fab5 CAN do animation, but they dont. but animation ppl cannot for the life of them dance like this. ppl with the word "poplockin" in there username shouldn't comment.

  • wannabe idiots should leave comments

  • i think acki pwns everyone in BOOGALOO

  • hmm they're good but not the best poppin' crew in japan.. not with that performance

  • they have a distinctive character but u-min doesnt.

  • I like the group as A whole but they pretty much all have the same style they need more icesalated styles not just moves witch they all have and they all can hit its just all the same but I need to see more to be that judgementle from 1-10 8 easy coming from king tut thats dam good KEEP TUTIN ON EM

  • ANIMATION N POPPIN IS DIFFERENT.fab5 isnt animation group.well if this is bore to u,i guess these guys style is not what u want.i think we have different.but do u know they r in world class?specially acky n gucchon r one of best popper in the world.

  • are you listening to me? i know they are different dumbass... i'm saying that a guy that specializes in ANIMATION is still better than these guys and they are POPPERS...salah beats these guys as well and he's a popper.. argue with that one

  • u r just looking at technics. dance isnt technics dumbass.u dont know shit about poppin.maybe dance.n what? salah beats these guys as well?fuck that.did u see best of best 2005?gucchon beats salah ae well.n the judge was EBs.like bikaria said, u-min havent distinctive.u just dont know shit about poppin................n i wont argue with u cuz its wasting my time.whatever u said, its fuckin stupid.

  • i know way more about popping than you do if you think these guys are the best... you're a fucking idiot man... enjoy your fag 5 and i'll stick to the better shit..

  • 173dan u do not knw anything about popping.

ill mke it short, popping is a dance, insiders knows who are the best, not the audience..i dont mean any harm but salah ? joon ?they cant be compared with these guys here.

  • whoa. couple of those dudes were really dope!

  • i love kei and tetsu-g

  • thats because ur gay

  • nahh, i think Nam Hyun Joon and Cyborg G is better.

  • joon is korean but u-min are japanese and are way better than these guys.. they're an animation group but their popping is even better than these guys

  • i dont think so.umin r good in animation cuz thet r animation style group.of course they r good at poppin too.but IN POPPIN,they didnt even close to fab5.its same thing as compare fab5 n EB.

  • that's exaclty what i'm saying.. an ANIMATION group is way better than this group and they're main focus is popping.. this is a bore to watch honestly...i've seen much better

  • you have no idea what your talking about lol

  • i love acky, he is my idol

  • guchon, as hard as he always is.

  • hehheh:D

  • yo~ the song is "Who Ride With Us (DJ Batsu Remix)" by Kurupt.. and the second one is "What Would you Do" by Tha Dogg Pound.peace brothers!

  • sick

  • yah man, i think the first is a daz dillinger track? and i know i've heard that second beat on a WC cd, but is that tha doggpound?

  • nice..what are those two songs?
