I say don't listen to @Zizer43, dance to what makes you feel comfortable. Though I would call this more Tribal Fusion than Bellydance because of the music. So let's call it that and have more flexibility. ^^ Even professionals don't use "folklore" music. Dancing is a form of expression. Period.
It's great you have found something you love doing and I wish you so much joy doing it! Great shimmys too :) I so can't shimmy. Only thing I dont like is the 1st song playing, second one is better :)
As a teacher of 36 years please accept this advice: Choose Middle Eastern (preferably Egyptian) music; if you were performing Polynesian dance, you wouldn't choose Bob Dylan or Grateful Dead, would you? No, because it isn't music for Polynesian dance, so Middle Eastern Belly Dance (all belly dance is Middle Eastern by origin and borrowed by other countries) so honor the culture where the dance originated; keep your knees soft and flexible to aid with keeping your hips relaxed and loose
@WingedSeed it has been awhile since i have danced unfortunately i need to get back into it i just have been working alot.dont really have much time.ty so much for you compliments they mean alot so sorry for the very late reply
