  • ugly tshirt

  • This reporter is annoying and awkward to look at.....

  • and how did david fincher not get nominated for best director?

  • how did the girl with the dragon tatto0 not get a nominee for picture of the year?

  • Viola Davis should have won...

  • Pathetic pathetic and pathetic - No Fassbender and no McQueen - oh dear :(

  • Leonardo DiCaprio...soon

  • what about warrior u stupid blonde?

  • @1bRaHiMov1c It's what WOULD have been nominated. Not what should get nominated.

  • 3:53 there is a mistake... steven spielberg should be there

  • She's either really congested or has the most annoying voice ever...

  • Jean Dujardin should win.

  • Who will produce a film on Kastner train & trail will win the Oscar. Now ther's a tip.

  • bitch please get back to the kitchen

  • Chris Evans for best actor in Puncture. Love that movie! bitly. com/sjkB5Y

  • Jean Dujardin! <3

  • I can't belive The Tree Of Life and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close got nominated.

  • I just want Leo to win his oscar, he truly deserves it

  • this is what i hope;

    best picture: harry potter/the artist

    best director: david yates

    best actress: tilda swinton

    best actor: brad pitt

    best sup actress: jessica chastain

    best sup actor: alan rickman

    best score: harry potter

  • i think michelle williams or viola davis should get the oscar. the actor from the artist deserves the oscar for best actor

  • Come on Jean Dujardin make France proud :)

  • who cares!!!

  • There's nothing wrong with having 10 nominations, in fact I think it's better that way. It gives more films recognition, which is good, the prestige isn't lost, they're still the Academy Awards.

  • I really hope Leo wins this year .

  • @MegaKellee I know right! He should have won for the Aviator!

  • Mine are:

picture - The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

actor - Leonardo DiCaprio, J. Edgar

actress - Rooney Mara, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

sup. actor: Armie Hammer - J. Edgar

sup. actress - Octavia Spencer, The Help

those aren't exactly my predictions, those are what I think SHOULD win.

  • @AQuestionOrSomethin4

    alan rickman

  • @8missJZ8 armie hammer

  • @AQuestionOrSomethin4 half of those wont win

  • Batman had the streets closed all summer

  • P.S. Awesome shirt I'm from Pitttsburgh!!

  • You can always tell what is going to win the Golden Globe by one simple formula. Of the nominees, the actor you have never heard of, the show that noone has ever seen, or the movie that you can't recall ever having been in a theater will win.

  • leo better at least get a damn nomination. and harry potter part 2 deserves to get the win for best pic, i mean come on! ten years and the best franchise ever? i think so:)

  • I still dont understand why Ryan Gosling is nominated for Ides of March instead of Drive?

  • you know I wonder if the first dude who came up with the idea of an award show in film knew what he was starting: A WHOLE BUNCH OF BULLSHIT.................

  • God damnit The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo should be up for way more then it is. The intensity I felt while sitting in that theater was like no other movie I've ever seen.

  • Dear god if Mellisa Mcarthy dosent get a nomination for Bridesmaids i will rain hell

  • quality over quanity Bérénice Bejo and octavia spencer are the best jessia too many good films this year not oh my god roles and Shailene Woodley not teen star ok hyped up but still good year they up there game this year performance wise now with sandra and natalies ok stuff.

  • Go 50/50!

  • 50/0 is the best movie i've ever seen

  • @Roguejmh888 thats not true. Lord of the rings won best picture at the oscars and that's a fantasy film. TheTis problem is that Harry potter is losing it's buzz

  • I hope 50/50 wins the golden globe for best comedy!

  • YAY! I like how the Oscar is going to be unpredictable again. Last year was just lame. I liked the Social Network better.

  • Harry potter is a wonderful movie not because its fantasy, its one of those rare movies that you will never forget. But we all know the oscars hate fantasy films drama is for the oscars. Thats why I never watch it but it would be nice if they pick hp for best picture but the chances are slim very slim.

  • Leo deserves this award for best actor o/

  • "Warrior" all the way!!!

  • Plz Andy serkis he became a fucking monkey

  • Im pretty sure every academy award except special effects and supporting actress should go to either girl with the dragon tattoo or drive...

  • And you wonder why we love you Grace! Your assessment and research has always astounded us and has always hit the mark! This year must be one of the lowest box-office movies I have ever experienced, but in terms of indie movies. Almost all of the slots are filled to the brim. I hope the best guy wins... they deserve it.

  • i still go with POTTER

  • Grace, do you do your homework at ALL before you made this video? Elizabeth Olsen and John Hawkes are getting major buzz for Actress and Supporting Actor for Martha Marcy May Marlene, plus Melissa McCarthy for Bridesmaides, and Kristen Dunst for Actress in Melonchoila. If you were to actually check on the facts ex. Entertainment Weekly and Backstage the Actress Category is as follows, Michelle Williams, Elizabeth Olsen, Meryl Strep, Rooney Mara, and Kristen Dunst. With Williams predicted to win.

  • It's a shame. You're talking about movies like My Week With Marilyn, The Iron Lady, Drive, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Artist and such, but over here in freakin' Germany they havent even hit theatres yet. We're still excited to watch those movies, you know. Loved the teaser for The Iron Lady.

  • THE HELP FOR BEST DRAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, the award nominations don't seem politically driven at all...

  • Alan Rickman for best sup. actor at the oscars thums up if you agree

  • @pajseriiiiiii uh ....NO!!!

  • wow im bumbed....

  • The fact that Drive and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows didn't get nominated for best picture astounds me

  • I did see The Help and I really enjoyed that movie, it had its ups and downs so i think it would be good for nomination.

  • Needs more Potter.

  • you make seem like it's all staged we shouldn't give an award because they campaigned or it's "there turn" we should really study the true emotion drive an actor or film gives off as well as clever writing and breathtaking visuals who can take that all together and make into a memorable deserves the win for best picture or any other categories mentioned

    P.S. consider andy serkis

  • They all suck

  • where the hell is rise of the plante of the apes?...O.O

  • Andy Serkis totally deserves at least an oscar nom

  • I just love that people consider the Golden Globes as just a footnote for the oscars

  • I have kind of stopped caring who who wins what, I just want to see something that's good

  • I think Fassbender should win best actor for Shame. He had to capture so much raw emotion for his role, I think that it's not only the best performance of the year, but the best one in many years.

  • 2:50 KATE WINLET WILL WIN.

  • I totally think Andy Circus should take it. You got me all excited

  • Glen Close is the front runner I think but I am hopping Andrea Riseburough comes out of nowhere and takes it

  • Alan Rickman will always be the winner in my mind!

  • My favorite so far is The Skin I live in.

might get nominated for best foregin film?

  • After last year's Academy Award I don't really care who wins.

  • what about xmen first class??? tht shit was awsome

  • Grace, would you say movies and analyzing the movie industry is a passion of yours?

I've recently decided to make a top10 list of mottoes i want in my life, and in the top 3 is a quote from the soundtrack of Flashdance; Irene Cara - What a Feeling:

"Take your passion, and make it happen"

I recently did this myself by changing my topic of study in the middle of a bachelor's degree (sci, 3yrs).

Which ones of your projects would you say is/are your passion, and what is your oppinion of this quote?

  • Yeah, that's a shame. I was really rooting for Alan Rickman for best supporting actor. His role as Severus Snape was beyond good, and I think he deserves recognition for it.

  • MUPPETS! MUPPETS! MUPPETS! MUPPETS!

  • RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • At 0:39, why does it say Toy Story 3?

  • MUPPETS FOR BEST FILM OF THE YEAR!

  • Im from New Zealand so most of these movies havent come out here yet until the end of February

  • i think 50/50 and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, deserve WAY more buzz. Favourite two films of the year. 50/50 FOR BEST PICTURE!

  • let me tell you something, i have predict like almost every oscar, and this year i know that drive is going to get nominated ... the ides of march is not oscar worthy, and drive is the best movie of thi year!!!!!

  • I hope Gary Oldma gets something he is one of my fav actors, so is Christopher Plumber. Money Ball was incredible as well.

The Guard, War horse, Tinker... are on my list to see

is Drive worth seeing? I hear such back and forth

  • I haven't seen many of these movies to be honest, Midnight in Paris is one of my favs of all time though. I couldn't stop thinking about it after I saw it, and went back and saw it again.

  • sweet vid grace have a great christmas

  • Harry Potter Should be in the oscars if not the globes.... fingers are still crossed

  • @Chaos5067 I'm sorry, but Harry Potter is not an Oscar worthy movie.........no offense.

  • @TheBioLover I'm not a big Harry Potter fan, but the last deserves to get nominations.

  • The Artist was such a beautiful and powerful film! Everything about it is Oscar worthy! It will win Best Picture if not I'm gonna be pissed! PS Hey Grace! Who are you rooting for? :D

  • And Harry Potter is overlooked once again. Bull.

  • I also really loved Win Win. How did everyone forget about that movie?

  • 50/50 deserves a Best Picture nomination and Joseph Gordon-Levitt deserves a Best Actor nomination. The movie is amazing, humorous, emotional and has heart. Filled with a great cast and lovable characters. JGL is my favorite actor and he was brilliant in the role. I also say Deathly Hallows: Part 2 deserves a Best Picture nomination. Unfortunately, the Academy isn't going to pick either of these films for Best Picture nominations. UGH.... :(

  • question...why do the golden globes not have a best animated film category?

  • sad that J. Edgar didn't get more buzz, it was my favorite movie of the year. Still hoping for a DiCaprio win though, however, it seems more to be more wishful thinking than an actual possibility. Oh well, plenty of moments to enjoy when it comes out on dvd.

  • Great show.

  • 50/50 should win best picture. The emotion in that movie out shines the artist & every other nommine.

But it might not win cause it was "Pro Weed"

  • @Stido22 lollolololol. thats not why.

  • @Stido22 lol seriously? hahahahaha you are a dumbass

  • that wont come here 2 nz until it's out on dvd it didnt get a theatrical release here

  • @Stido22 shut the fuck up you retard. 50/50 was crackerjack candy. nothing special. hugo, artist descendants is an ambitious attempt at film.

  • @Stido22 WTF! you have no fucking idea about movies. You just watched few no. of movies and came to such dumb conclusion. 50/50 was just a good movie. The Artist is a great movie. Looks like you watched only 50/50 in 2011.

  • 1:17 You broke my heart, Grace. :(

  • It's about time Scorsese won an Oscar. The man is a genius.

  • If Tree of Life doesn't get best picture or Malick for Director my faith in the Academy is forever gone.

  • @ItsJester94 it wont win best picture

  • my head still spinning. that was a lot of info to take in

  • Thumbs up if Draggon tattoo shuld be nominated for both globes and oscars

  • i hope Melissa McCarthy from Bridesmaids gets nominated for best Supporting Actress at the oscars, shes been getting a lot of buzz for the role

  • Why is there no respect for Alan Rickman as Snape, he really was the best part about Harry Potter, if there is nothing for him at the Oscars than I will RAGE!!!!!!!

  • @WaterworthJake09 Exactly! I'll rage with you! Alan Rickman is one of THE GREATEST actors EVER.

  • This is ridiculous, Best Drama: Drive. Best Comedy: 50/50. Best performance: Joseph Gordan Levvit 50/50

  • Gotta say I respect your picks over the Golden Globes Nom's. I was really disappointed in their picks this year

  • what about warrior that was the best movie i ever saw.

  • Gary Oldman should be nominated for every movie, even if he isn't in them!! :D

  • @HonkyTonkBuffalo :D Gary Oldman is a BOSS.

  • Nooooooooooooo....HARRY POTTER FOREVER!

  • Golden Globes 2012 count me out .

  • I think Joseph Gordon-Levitt deserves a nomination at the Oscars. His performance in 50/50 was so brilliant, it made the movie that much better.

  • I really sucks the HP isn't going to get any recognition for best picture. It was a worldwide phenomena

  • Is it just me or does it seems as those the Oscars AND the Golden Globes will be a disappointment. This might just have to do with the lack of really strong movies or like Grace said - frontrunners. This sucks.

  • Much better than last year's!

  • No love for Harry Potter??? Ughh....

  • Oh, and I still don't get the appeal of George Clooney.

  • @terribithiajjls12 me neither these are are so overrated...wheres all the good newcomers

  • I loved the analysis in this video. Excellent work. :)

  • No major nominations for Drive & The Tree of Life is just shameful.

  • Alot of good movies this year. But of all, Drive stand out the most in my opinion. It stands out as a film in a not set genre. Id like to see at least some nominations for all the work that was put into the film.

  • No harry potter or girl with the dragon tattoo? This is terrible

  • wait a second, just because harry potter wasnt nominated doesnt mean its not gonna get recognition from the oscars, hangover won a golden globe last year but had no oscar buzz

  • Bridesmaids actually got nominated? Was that dry humor delivered in a deadpan fashion? Or is it an unfortunate example that "shit wasn't very funny this year."

  • The real reason why ticket sales are down isn't merely because the economy sucks or soaring ticket prices but I think is more that Hollywood is turning out garbage on a regular basis lately and calling it movies and the general audience is getting wise to it and won't waste their money to see it in theaters and would rather wait for the dvd releases or ppv. Hollywood needs to wake up and get better writers that have original thoughts or writers that will quit butchering existing material.

  • Personally I don't think any movie this year was a stand out. Sure many of them made some good money & were entertaining but none were over the top incredible. Even the actors in all these movies didn't do anything spectacular enough to shine above others. Personally I'm getting tired of seeing the same people over & over getting the nods & when is the Academy gonna stop ignoring scifi/fantasy films as best picture? The superhero movies were more entertaining than anything else this year.

  • Still disappointed that Harry Potter didn't get much/any recognition. :\

  • What did people see in midnight in Paris? It was quite entertaining but it still was absurd.

C'mon it was like Narnia for "educated adults" I think it was pretty childish. Best movies of the year was Le Havre by Kaurismäki, Drive and The skin I live in (not in chronological order). Or atleast I think so.

  • My noms for Best Animated Feature Oscar:

    "ADVENTURES OF TINTIN"

    "CARS 2"

    "KUNG FU PANDA 2"

    "RANGO"

    "WINNIE THE POOH"

  • Extremly dissapointed Harry Potter wasnt on the list,

I watched them all this year (i became a fan in January of 2011) and so the bes 2 are #1 & #8 & i watched them all pretty close together so big dissapointment there.

  • I wouldn't say Plummer's completely guaranteed to win. Despite his SAG snub, Albert Brooks is still his biggest competitor and has the stronger film in my opinion.

  • I think Terrence Malick should be nominated for Best Director, that movie as amazing.

  • Dominic Cooper deserves the Oscar for Best Actor, but I doubt he'll even be nominated...

  • I think some of the nominations are bogus. Such as not nominating Keira Knightley for A Dangerous Method. Also nominating Cars 2 and Arthur Christmas over Winnie the Pooh and Kung Fu Panda 2, really!?! Though i am happy to see a nomination for 50/50.

  • most of these films i don't care about

  • i have not seen any of the best pic nods, and don't plan too, maybe moneyball, but that's it

  • All actresses from The Help should be nominated and win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Harry Potter still has the Baftas and the PGA to get some more heat. Plus the $100m Warner Bros is supposedly using on it's Potter Oscar campaign.

  • I have to say this has been a pretty weak year in film.

  • Wow the academy sucks.

  • HOW IS NOLTE NOT NOMINATED FOR WARRIOR!!!??? REALLY!?!?

  • I really didn't like Hugo and War Horse.. stop kissing big directors butts awards people

  • HARRY POTTER HARRY POTTER HARRY POTTER HARRY POTTER HARRY POTTER

  • HARRY POTTER DESERVES A NOM!

  • see why isn't this a weekly t.v. series, better than crap like entertainment tonight, access hollywood or insider... garbage... except for TMZ, that show is hilarious. Keep it up, Grace!

  • I hope Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, Viola Davis, Michelle Williams. & the movie The Artist Will win. i was a bit upset that Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Pt.2 was ignored infavor for what? A boring nancyboy George Clooney movie the descendants. Why did Gary Oldman was never nominated for T.T.S.S.? Some line up eh?

  • I think the boy from Hugo should've gotten a nomination! He did amazing in the movie!

  • none of those should win ...harry potter should win them all : )

  • there wasn't really any movie that blew me away this year.

  • Gosh, I frickin hate the noms this year -___-

  • I believe that Nick Nolte should have gotten a Supporting Actor nomination for his performance in "Warrior"

  • @St33lPro Preach!!

  • MICHAEL FASSBENDER!!!!! :DD

  • @clover36952 Michael Fassbender!

  • It would be criminal to neglect Nick Nolte's performance in Warrior. He should at least get nominated .

  • I think Octiva Spencer should get suporting actress for her pie

  • The Oscar Noms = A bunch of Films that Nobody has seen

  • No Warrior in the mix???? And no Harry Potter??? The nominations were better than last years but, come one those were two of the best movies of the entire year.

  • I think "Balls."

  • Can you do this type of video for the animated films this year? I'm curious to see what the academy will go for knowing that Pixar did not have such a solid film this year!

  • Your pool is missing several movies i loved this year like The future, Senna, and submarine
