50/50 deserves a Best Picture nomination and Joseph Gordon-Levitt deserves a Best Actor nomination. The movie is amazing, humorous, emotional and has heart. Filled with a great cast and lovable characters. JGL is my favorite actor and he was brilliant in the role. I also say Deathly Hallows: Part 2 deserves a Best Picture nomination. Unfortunately, the Academy isn't going to pick either of these films for Best Picture nominations. UGH.... :(

The real reason why ticket sales are down isn't merely because the economy sucks or soaring ticket prices but I think is more that Hollywood is turning out garbage on a regular basis lately and calling it movies and the general audience is getting wise to it and won't waste their money to see it in theaters and would rather wait for the dvd releases or ppv. Hollywood needs to wake up and get better writers that have original thoughts or writers that will quit butchering existing material.

Personally I don't think any movie this year was a stand out. Sure many of them made some good money & were entertaining but none were over the top incredible. Even the actors in all these movies didn't do anything spectacular enough to shine above others. Personally I'm getting tired of seeing the same people over & over getting the nods & when is the Academy gonna stop ignoring scifi/fantasy films as best picture?
