Thank you George Carlin For your humor and belief. In my view you where , was and will always be the best. R.I.P. You will always live on to be the man of Being SIMPLY THE BEST. Thank You. You will always Be missed in me but always kept alive in my thoughts and prayers.
George: Everytime you came to my hometown, I always went to see you. I watched every HBO show and I collected nearly every album you put out. You made me laugh so hard I almost peed myself (maybe I did) but....you also made me think. Because after you have separated the flyshit from the pepper, you really were right afterall.

Georges thinking was so complicated it was simple. Some day he should be taught in schools to show the brilliance of one man. RIP sweet George you will continue to touch lives for centuries to come!
Dont ever talk about hell and George! He was the most caring kind considerate man I have known. He was very good to me and my family...He was loving and very giving...SHAME ON YOU!
holy shat people i had no idea george carlin was in thomas the talk engine or shining time station, i really dont know the difference between the two..
@neurochris lol MR CONDUCTOR! lol that show was my first experiance watching george carlin, up until i was like 8 or 9 i had no clue he was a comedian.
It seems to me like george seems really uncomfortable telling jokes into a camera and not having that instant gratification of an audience. The man was a born stand up comeidan and he will be forever missed.
@Salao212 ... yes, but i wouldn't say no contest, there's been a few that i think come close to george, including bill hicks who died in his early 30s
This guy was a comedy genius, but he had such a steep hill to climb. He even said: Cocaine problems, mortgage problems, own television program which he hated doing. At least he said he had fun on Shining Time Station after he talked all about those acting things he hated. I would actually feel bad if he was bored of doing it. :-\
lol...and didnt give a fuck...DIDNT GIVE A FUCK, really...^^....I love this old fuck...I'll think, first thin I'll do when I go to hell is bbq with this motherfucker
As you can notice, George Carlin has the longest interview in this Archive, hence his volume of work and longevity, and his popularity, hes America's Shakespear
when he gives a head to the truck driver. i was kind of shocked when he was in the movie, i was like WAHHHATT? George Carlin in Kevin Smith movie again? awesome! ;p
and that is why I love taking Amtrak over a plane so many years later. hehe, (that and I think you can meet a whole lot of interesting people and really get to know them over a 12 hour ride as opposed to a 1 and a half hour ride.)
I find it hilarious that someone would say george "respected" peoples religious beliefs. Religion is the biggest historical cause of human suffering...man-made suffering. To first "believe" that you "know" the origins of the universe and that YOU(we) are the purpose of it all, is delusional. Then the ultimate "bribe" and the ultimate greed of promising the cult members that they will be, "living forever in heaven", you cant get greedier than that, wanting eternal life...religion is for morons...
George Carlin is the only person I never met that I actually shed a tear for when he passed. I think it was until a few years ago that I realized how much his comedy had shaped me as a person. George had a remarkable ability to teach us about the human condition while he made us piss our pants laughing.
By any means of measuring George is one of the greatest human beings to walk this stinking planet.
Yes, I totally agree on that take. I would have shed a tear, too, hadn't it been only until after his passing that I actually came to hear about him. Every other hundreds of years, a great person like him makes their passage through on this planet. I am grateful that he lived in my time and leaves us such a legacy of wonderful work.
"These are orange, there'll be other colours later" The soundtrack of my youth. One hilarious man. Miss you George BUT your lines will for ever be in my head.
I believe that George's whole message was about freedom of speech whether you believed in God or not. However, if you've seen later interviews with him, or met him later on in his life it never meant that he put someone down for there religious beliefs. Show some respect people whether you believe or not. No one here is George Carlin, so just be respectful of one another.
It's easy to overlook how much time and effort he put into honing his act. A true professional. His comedy was a childhood, and I'm forever grateful for what he brought to my life.
George Carlin always talked about God, religion, and the BS inherent in religion. So it's only natural that his fans would talk about these things. :-)
Perhaps the greatest comedian of our age. In the topic of the human condition he was always on point.Truly a genious and a master on his craft.I miss him dearly.
I say it the same way D: haha your awesome.. im sarcastic with people like that too... im an aussie in america.. so every conversation is pretty much like that.. the bloody shitters~
Anyone who says it was gods punishment is an idiot. Let's face it the man admittedly did drugs. Not that there's anything wrong with it. Joe Pesci knows I love the guy. All i'm saying is it probably wasn't good for him. By the way anyone who get's the Joe Pesci reference truly knows that I am a george carlin fan. As you probably are too.
You really ought view all seven parts of this interview. According to the view counter, over ten times more people have what part six than any of the other six parts; which seems odd to me. Also, all of the other six parts are averaging five stars, while part six as only three or less. Very odd.
any rating potsted less than 5 stars proves you are either a)stupid; b)a fundamentalist fuckwad or (most likely) c)both.
critical thinkers, people who see through all the myths and mirrors and bullshit that religion, government, big business, mainstream society throw in the path of true emancipation and enlightenment--these people scare the daylights out of the establishment/forces for the status quo...Carlin told the TRUTH about all this shit. People that don't get him scare me most of all.
Has someone been spreading this around to conservative bloggers again? I doubt a George Carlin vid could seriously get three stars even if it were a picture of his face for ten minutes.
Wow. You really don't think beyond a few steps do you?
SOMEONE had to be first, right? Why did HE make so much sense to other people, why did others feel a need to believe as well?
You're question is just frustrating. Do you think humanity is just one endless loop in both directions, with a God myth inherently part of it?
There have been studies on this matter. Humans have an inherent need to believe in a purpose and origin. This is, of course, after they've fulfilled their basic needs.
Carlin was a self-absorbed pseudo-intellectual who could craft a punchline. He was not a great thinker. He was not a visionary. He was not a deep man.
Any heavy message he supposedly delivered was created by his empty-headed fans. At best he was a semi-funny performer who hid his lack of talent with phony intellectual posturing.
"he would have despised you for saying thank god for his mind, he really would have", you are right believe me he would have despised that comment but just because he thought that way doesnt mean other people cant appreciate his mind so i see it from both perspectives
there is most likely no such thing as god...there may be though. but one thing that i am sure about is that the judgmental god described in the bible does not exist.
God, Allah, or Santa Clause have noting to do with it... God didnt create people, people created God... and George Carlin is a legend, funny and sharp till the end... R.I.P
Good riddance to George Carlin. God took him out because God got tired of listening to his blasphemy. Let that be a lesson to Dawkins, Hitchens, Maher, and all other atheists who profit from attacking God. All will die, including atheists, and God will judge all based on our faith in Jesus Christ. If you have no faith in Jesus Christ then you are going to Hell. IT's the only way, sorry Atheists. WE Christians will not spend eternity with your filty vile mouths badmouthing Jesus.
This guy was hilarious. Im not an atheist but that doesnt mean I dont recgonise how funny he was. He has every right to state his beliefs like every christian also does, its called free will
church's do't pay taxes and never will, i tell the assholes that come to my door and wanting me to come to church to help them worship there god...............why do i need to help them worship one person or thing? why can't god show himself? he is to blame for alot of things, but not like the things i do wrong but creating this piece of shit earth we live on. i tell you all what you all have your beliefs and i have mine, i believe that one of these days ill stand toe 2 toe with that bitch god!
God and Religion is not something you make fun of or mock. It's like turning around and spitting on your father who loves you so much. May God have Mercy on George Carlin.
George Carlin did drugs and drank heavily, ever consider maybe those two things could lead to an earlier death? God(if there is one) had nothing to do with it
its not the years in your life, its the life in your years, George Carlin had a much greater impact on the world than most of the Godwhacks that criticize him
He makes jokes about God, then dies prematurely (71 is premature regardless of what people say). Does this send some smoke signals that GOD IS NOT PLAYING AROUND?!
What a fucking legend. Miss you George

Has someone been spreading this around to conservative bloggers again? I doubt a George Carlin vid could seriously get three stars even if it were a picture of his face for ten minutes.

Find me a person who started believing in god before someone else told them about him.
Just any one person on the planet.

Just another smug hippie.

"he would have despised you for saying thank god for his mind, he really would have", you are right believe me he would have despised that comment but just because he thought that way doesnt mean other people cant appreciate his mind so i see it from both perspectives

there is most likely no such thing as god...there may be though. but one thing that i am sure about is that the judgmental god described in the bible does not exist.
the bible is a step back for mankind.

George Carlin was brilliant- he made you think while he made you laugh.

When people laugh they are open. When you are open, the seeds for new ideas can be planted.

God and Religion is not something you make fun of or mock. It's like turning around and spitting on your father who loves you so much. May God have Mercy on George Carlin.
CacamanMusic 3 years ago
George Carlin did drugs and drank heavily, ever consider maybe those two things could lead to an earlier death? God(if there is one) had nothing to do with it
its not the years in your life, its the life in your years, George Carlin had a much greater impact on the world than most of the Godwhacks that criticize him

He makes jokes about God, then dies prematurely (71 is premature regardless of what people say). Does this send some smoke signals that GOD IS NOT PLAYING AROUND?!
