well it's too bad it's really hit Ubisoft. Last I read, their sales were down by 49%, and no I don't just mean on PC I mean on everything, PC, PS3, Xbox 360 etc etc.
To anyone that might know: Is the DRM for this game as bad as it is for Bioshock 2? Because that game is impossible to play for me. It seems like their server is down every other week.
@fsmcas So did I. Until Windows LIve started to not let me play the game because it was having trouble "establishing a connection" and crashed every 3 days for one reason or another. Great game, but buggy as hell.
@ahmadWR200M Hm... well, good thing then that I've chosen to play through the first one again before buying Part 2... I'm gonna check this, thank you.
@fsmcas In case you were still interested, I just read that as of early March, 2K Games has addressed these problems and claims that they are fixed. I haven't tried it out for myself yet though.
@ChaosBahamut Ubi said, that there might be a no-DRM-patch someday. i hope that the copyprotection stays as filthy as it is (crashes, servers down, unable to log in etc.) so it forces them to remove this trojan from their games.
i ALWAYS bought such games - online-activation? Installation-limits? Steam? I don't mind, everything is ok. But this time they went too far. This time - for the first time ever - the DRM -is- as bad as everyone said before. That's my problem.
Well to be fair, most of those crashes were due to hackers who thought it'd be fun to overload the servers. (and last I checked, Ubisoft did compensate affected users with either a free upgrade to the limited edition of AC2 or a free game)
Don't have the game myself though, but I'm not letting the DRM stop me.
@ChaosBahamut Yeah, nice - instead of making the protection better or safer, they give free games. That's what you call distraction. Everybody said, there will be problems. Ubi said, no we're perfect. Hackers proved them wrong... The thing is: There WILL be a crack, there always is. And once it is cracked, future games with this protection will be cracked much fater. Eventually, paying custumors will have crashes and problem, pirates won't.
I'm not saying there won't be a successful crack, I'm saying there isn't one right now. And since there is no working crack at the moment, there's no reason for Ubisoft to drop it.
Can this pc run it smoothly?

Great game, my friend got it on console and I loved it - it's a shame I can't buy it, hopefully the DRM-removal-patch by Ubisoft comes soon =((

Well when you consider there has yet to be a fully working crack for AC2, I don't think AC2's DRM is going anywhere anytime soon.

Have you considered giving personal annual awards to the games you've played? Such as best game or best graphics etc....
