excellent series. i actually used to live and work there back in the mid 90's. i saw this situation first hand, and met many of the people. they are fucked up, some beyond repair, but for some, ones that really want help, they need shelter away from hastings, and away from vancouver, perhaps a country ranch? anyways, hope more help is offered in the future for them. most of them that i met were very nice people that took a wrong turn somewhere and need a map to get home.
maybe police departments everywhere should be forced to take part in the same type of documentary as bc cops - perhaps it will humanize the humans in their eyes.according to them it seemed to do that for these officers. protecting and serving for once. great vid - thanks for sharing

I was picked up by the cops after trying to hang myself from a tree with a bike tube (was tired of my oxycontin addiction) and I had pockets full of clonazepam...
They took me to the psych ward and admitted me and let me go without the possession charge for having un-prescribed pharmaceuticals.
If it wasn't for those cops, I probably wouldn't be clean today. They saved my life!

WOW, I am so touched. I had a rough up bringing but this scared me and I am a tough cookie. The East side is tougher than me. I have a sister that lived their so I can relate to how the people stick together and seem to genuinely care about each other. Trying to keep the outsiders out there. This also gives me a different outlook on the VPD.
I lost my job in November of last year. I am so inspired by this movie I feel like I should write the VPD and tell them I want to come and help these people in any way I can. Something worthwhile to do with my time.

WOW, I am so touched. I had a rough up bringing but this scared me and I am a tough cookie. The East side is tougher than me. I have a sister that lived their so I can relate to how the people stick together and seem to genuinely care about each other. Trying to keep the outsiders out there. This also gives me a different outlook on the VPD.

I lost my job in November of last year. I am so inspired by this movie I feel like I should write the VPD and tell them I want to come and help these people in any way I can. Something worthwhile to do with my time.

Since I have seen this video I have new respect for the Vancouver Police.These are real people not derelicts .These are lost souls crying out to be found .
