maybe you guys can help me with a problem, I downloaded the T engine version 0.9.37 and I can play the game just fine, but I can't load my saved games, I've found them in the save directory and if i try to open a new game with the same name it will tell me that a char exists with that name...it just won't let me load it.
A note about traps. You seem to think stepping over them in combat is the worst thing you can do in a fight. For most traps, I wouldn't risk it with a character who has lasted this long. However, consider the effect the sliding rocks.
Stunned
The target is stunned, reducing damage by 70%, healing received by 50%, putting random talents on cooldown and reducing movement speed by 50%, while stunned talents do not cooldown. [lasts 4 turns, P. Save can reduce this]
Lol it was a quote and I belive it was something like "Men we're getting killed on these beaches lets charge and those bunkers and die in france!" Or something along those lines
I don't know if someone has mentioned it or not, but you can actually talk to those people that you guide around. You can ask what direction the portal is in and I believe you can command them to stay still for a couple turns or so.
@sleepyjo2 Escorts have extreme ADD. You can tell them ONCE to wait for a few turns, but when you request it a second time, they're like "NO I'm bored!" I swear the game thinks it's funny.
Thought for sure you'd want the armor of the deep since I think it lets you breathe underwater and you need to be able to in order to enter the ruins according to the notes.
I'm guessing the next episode(s) will be the death of Tiny Treefucker. ;( I don't want the electronic Dendrophiliac to die. He's mah fwend. Oh well. He had a good run. *he's not dead yet you idiot!*
The game doesn't do a good job of telling you the sequence of where to go and all, and in fact some of the progression of dungeons/areas remains an utter bloody mystery until you actually go in them -- which kills most of everyone's early characters. In fact two of the early dungeons are in a place an inexperienced player may or may not see the first time. jef is definitely doing a great job of following his gut though, so far. Though he is dangerously underleveled. But losing is fun!
100+ damage to most things (AND the capability of hitting several things with one spell if it's leveled enough to be a beam) tends to help.
Also, Heightened Senses as an Archmage helps a lot, you can see enemies even outside of your light radius, I'd assume it might be useful with a Summoner in a dark dungeon.
@PwnzorBob My current archmage is my most successful character yet (so it just has to be the one I accidentally started without permadeath, haven't died yet and may decide not to revive, on the other hand I have unlocked the Cursed class and poison skill, so I might try to unlock more) so I have to agree, especially with Heightened Senses which I was lucky enough to get from a escort quest. They lack passive skills, are useless at melee and somewhat fragile, but do tons of damage.
Jef, you will need Minotaur and Golem, so taking Jelly is necessary, also Jelly decreases your equilibrium. And you orange feather amulet is just enough to complete Mage Apprentice quest.
I've never finished one of those escort quests successfully. I always seem to lose them and don't find them before they die or the "STAY PUT" command doesn't last long enough and they charge past everything and die.
The story and such behind the ruins at the lake is pretty awesome. Though something tells me it may be quite some time before Jef is able to get to that point. Kinda surprised he got past Wrathroot, but then again, this is TTF here. :)
@jefmajor It's okay, you just play the game in the hard mode, wasting point intentionally not to spend them on something useful! I can't be so brave :'(
Actually, it was a real quote, good job jef XD

I would recommend taking those points out of qucik recovery and putting them into fast metabolism.
Unless you plan on multiclassing to warrior, then, by all means, go ahead.

Few things to say here.
1. The areas that are high lighted in grey aren't rooms but are in fact lighted areas.
2. Defeat the boss of the worm cave. It'll give you the Wyrmic class. A very sexy Wilder class that is extremely flexible.
3. What is your favorite class so far?

Small tip: Each 10 points of cunning grant you a new summon. Which means that having 30 cunning grants you a maximum of 3 concurrent summons.
Get it to 40 and you'd have 4.
