i once gave a ride to someone on his way to work in a restaurant, and i found out that having been thrown out by his brother's girl friend, whether he was going to be able to pay for his hotel room that night or not depended on how much tip he got. It then struck me that a little act of kindness in appreciation of service could make the difference between someone being out there in the street or having a roof over his head. How often we let opportunities to make the difference pass us by!
